As days go, yesterday was nearly monumental. No, it has nothing to do with the Braves’s World Series win…
I started the day picking up Bonnie for a breakfast stop prior to the journey out to Conyers. Breakfast was had at the original Flying Biscuit on McClendon in Candler Park, or is it in Lake Claire? 🤔 Breakfast was fine, though I could have asked for the food to be hotter, heat not spice. I cannot complain about the coffee however, as they served me three cups while there, and gave us both a cup to go!
From Flying Biscuit I wound the M6 through Avondale Estates toward I-285, eventually taking I-20 eastward. Of course the M6’s TPMS fired again, but this time I was not rewarded with finding money in the parking lot of Tractor Supply. After wandering the entire store, I picked up the two bags of fertilizer that I ordered online and had delivered to the store. I won’t need as much fertilizer as I expected, since I saw a squirrel scamper off with the last lettuce leaf remaining in my lettuce bed. Fuckers!
Once back ITP I joined Bonnie for a trip to Kroger. I needed to purchase some supplies for this coming weekend’s adventure — camping in really cold weather. While there, we got confirmation that KroBar has been removed. Fuckers!
Yesterday afternoon I realized that I brain farted and forgot to buy cheese! So, a trip to Aldi was made.
They said it couldn’t happen.
For years I have heard the lore of a special Aldi purchase, one for which I can understand waiting in line to purchase, unlike a copy of the AJC heralding the Braves’s victory. 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸
Yesterday’s Aldi flyer mentioned the arrival, but I never expected to see it in Georgia stores, never mind to be in a store with an opportunity to buy one.
“What is it?!?!” you ask?
The Aldi 2021 Beer Advent Calendar!!! For $50 I purchased a box of 24 beers. 🎉🎉🎉
Excited with my purchase I went over to Betsy’s for Top Chef night. Betsy cooked a wonderful butternut squash dish, whose recipe was supplied by Bonnie.
Perhaps the only thing that could have made the day better was figuring out how to get the itching to stop. I did see the poison ivy growing amongst the English ivy that I was pulling recently, most likely the culprit for my current body malady.
Today? Well, it certainly can’t be better than yesterday… With the light rain that is falling on the ITP Estate I have resumed water collection. I will have to prepare for this weekend’s outing. I will attempt to read, and put the ITP Estate in some order as it is currently a mess.
I know your day wasn’t as awesome as mine, unless you’ve published a book or something. ðŸ‘🻠Regardless, have a great day today, and do your best to remain healthy.
After a fairly uneventful day at the salt mines, I fired up the tractor and finished spreading the last of the winter seed. Hopefully the ground is still warm enough for it to take. Disconnect the spreader and connect the drag to get the seed in better contact with the ground. All in all, a fun afternoon.
I might be in the office tomorrow and might be in Birmingham on Monday. We shall see.

Candler Park.
Sad news today, our pal Duncan the dog has crossed the rainbow bridge. Paulie, I’ll email you the tribute that Swamp wrote.
Today I will cook a chili recipe I’ve never used before to take camping. Fingers crossed. I better make it every enough in case it doesn’t work out. 😂
Early enough…
Aw man, sad news indeed. Duncan was more than an awesome hash dog, he was an awesome dog! 😢
Oh, I just remembered that in need to make cornbread. 🙄
The Candler Park / Lake Claire controversy is an old joke argument. I think Clifton Road may divide the neighborhoods since the Lake Claire Land Trust as well as Lake Claire Park are on the east side of Clifton, while Candler Park market and Candler Park are to the west of Clifton.
Oh.
Sorry, I realized I forgot to mention that… My bad!!! 🙄🤦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸
LOL, I see what you did there. 😎
And I agree with Bonnie, the OG Flying Biscuit is squarely in Candler Park, as in like 2 blocks away from the park itself.
The last time I found poison ivy in my yard I used big black trash bags as gloves and eradicated that shit.
I will be covered from head to toe, and scrub immediately upon finishing my work, the next time I am in that area.
Oh yeah, I also registered for BRAG Spring Tune Up yesterday. ðŸ˜
I was at Aldi yesterday, didn’t even think to look for the beer advent calendar. Oh well…..
I did see a sign on the door w out it & everything.
Tried to donate platelets at the Red Cross yesterday. They were short staffed, and it takes at least 2 hours usually, they said it would take 3-4 hours, so I bailed. Not that I had anything else urgent to do, just didn’t want to sit around a waiting room.
I’m supposed to get my tires rotated right near the Battery tomorrow, at 1130. I think I’ll cancel, as the parade starts down town at noon, then I figure it will get up to Cobb by 1pm. Not sure I want to be stranded in traffic all afternoon.
Probably best to avoid the area unless you want to wait in line like all those people who wanted to buy an AJC yesterday.
Why was the Kro-bar removed?
And, I guess we should sign up for STU at some point.
I guess COVID killed it? Not sure, but it’s definitely gone.
STU price goes up at the end of the year. Howdy since I know now that I want to attend next year, I decided to knock out that chore now.
Using this gray, rainy day to knock out a lot of indoor choring! 🙌ðŸ¼
I just ate a salad of lettuce, tomato, and carrot, all from WLF. This lettuce is from a group yet to be discovers by critters. And, the carrot wasn’t puny!!! 🥳
ðŸ‘🻠ðŸ‘🻠ðŸ‘ðŸ»
My day of indoor choring was interrupted by the realization that I should mail my property taxes check today. Walk to the post office done, and I picked up a bag of spent coffee from Joe’s on the way home. ðŸ˜
Upon arriving home I found a squirrel near the lettuce I ate for lunch. After chasing it away I attempted to protect this batch by surrounding it with chicken wire. 🤞ðŸ¼
If you can get in it, so can the squirrel!
I was suppose to make it so I can get back in? 😠Yeah, I know, I am throwing a Hail Mary to see if I can get at least one more head before they do. There is plenty else for them to steal in the garden.
