After arriving home yesterday and plopping my ass on the den’s futon I didn’t get much accomplished other than catching up on videos and resting. It was a little after 4pm by the time arrived home, so it wasn’t like there was a whole lot of time to do much else.
Today I am going to attempt a bit of a life reboot. I need to stop eating so much food, eat better food, get more real exercise (such as hard choring or bike riding), and put my nose back to the professional grindstone so that I will be able to draw an income (and get subsidized health care) again some day. Oh yeah, after today I have to stop spending so much money as well. No biggie, right?
The sun is due to “rise” in about ten minutes so after I am done typing this blog post I will get out to WLF for some September cleanup work. Given the weather radar I saw around midnight last night I expected to awake to find everything soaked, but I guess the storm system didn’t provide much rain after all. Heck,I even backed out of the idea of going to Lowe’s this morning because I assumed everything would be wet. Oh well, perhaps Friday morning I will go instead.
I can’t dilly dally too much this morning because later this morning I have a haircut appointment, after which I will be hitting up Kroger and/or Publix to buy some essentials.
Tonight is Betsy’s turn to cook, so all I will have to do is be ready to get to her house by 7pm, so perhaps I will kickstart my iOS development re-development before then.
Hope that your week is going swimmingly well, even if there wasn’t enough rain to fill your swimming pool last night.
Lurker and Paulie, your respective trips sounded fun! Cloudland Canyon trip was fun. It didn’t rain, yay! The yurt was interesting. There were two futons, both of which were very damp, so we had to sleep in the top bunk of the bunk bed 😮. Had the futons been satisfactory, I suppose it would have been a good glamping option. Hiked both days. Stopped at the brand-new Buc-ee’s northwest of Atlanta—it was certainly a sight to see.
Today *might* be the day to purchase a CR-V. And maybe even trade in the Cavalier? To be continued… 😂😂😂
Then, finally seeing “Hamilton†tonight after being postponed twice due to COVID. I’m not thrilled about being in a packed theater for 3 hours but fingers crossed all will be OK and I won’t be too anxious and be able to enjoy the (very expensive) show…
Can’t wait to see what you bought me at Buc-ee’s. Oh wait… 😂
Good luck with maybe buying a vehicle.
Enjoy the show. Wear a mask if you don’t feel comfortable?
Masks are required at all times “when not actively eating or drinking.†As we both feel the same about it, I’ll go on record saying neither should be allowed inside the theater in the first place, much less during COVID times…
We had torrential rain last night just before bed, but the lightning!!! Holy crap! I was watching my weather app and it has a lightning setting where you can see the strikes, then draws an ever growing circle for the thunder (kinda neat). We were covered up at times… I have rarely seen anything like last night.
T-Mobile came through yesterday with the replacement router. After some problems with the phone support, we finally figured out they didn’t send a new SIM, so just take the old one and move it over. And voila!
The tractor issues have been resolved… by Debbie!! I was having a brain fart and had the PTO engaged when trying to start. I asked for her assistance, as I thought I needed someone to operate the clutch to check on why the PTO wasn’t behaving properly. She sat down and started the tractor!! Duh.
Happy car shopping, Bonnie! Remember, the best tactic in negotiation is to walk away.

Paulie, sorry I didn’t pick any vegetables while you were gone. A) I don’t really know how, and B) every time I checked on your house I was on the way to do something else and it wasn’t conducive to cover myself in bug spray and get into the garden.
No worries. You just have to look for things like you see in the grocery store or at a farmers market. 😉 Just smaller in size. 😂
The mosquitoes are out in abundance, as are caterpillars. I dispatched about eight caterpillars that had eaten my radish plants on the deck, and another half dozen that were on some bean plants. Sorry, Nature.
In from WLF. I didn’t make great progress, but am slowly disassembling the current garden in hopes of planting new crops man’s reworking some of the non-raised bed area. I also need to figure out how to keep the MF insects from eating everything!
6.5 inches of rain…. We have a flooded basement!!
Well, not really flooded, just wet.
So, pulled everything we can out to the patio, mopping the dirty water up, once it dries we will actually clean the floors.
Good times this morning.
Breastrokes basement flooded too, not sure how bad it is.
Holy shit, that’s a lot of rain!
Bonnie told me about the survey you’ll be in next week. I created an account, but it says I have no available surveys. Poop!
Hmmmm. Maybe the survey will pop up later? They randomly pop up.
The Jackson office is pretty close to your old perimeter office.
Definitely check back—don’t just rely on being notified of every opportunity via email!
