Starting off the week with the same knee problems that have plagued me for at least seven days. This sucks. Much like this weather sucks. Much like Lowe’s sucks.
This morning I visited the Lowe’s nearest the ITP Estate to be two-fold disappointed. First, no one could point me to the cement mixing tub (to be used to mix soil) that the Lowe’s app said were in stock, 47 in stock to be exact. The second failure was not unexpected; I could not locate the bird bath that was clearance priced, amongst all of the other bird baths in stock. Oh well, sorry birds.
The weekend was fun but limited in scope due to the weather and my aches and pains. Friday night was spent at home because it was too nasty to go outside.
Bonnie and I spent the afternoon together drinking at Three Taverns in Avondale Estates. Because my feet were cold we attempted to go drink elsewhere, but the weather combined with COVID made that impossible.
Yesterday I did an early morning walk with Betsy. I started the day by picking up another bag of litter along my walk from home to East Atlanta Village. Later in the afternoon Bonnie and I drove up to Alpharetta for the Black Sheep hash; she ran the trail, I stayed at the start/end and took photos.
It was fun, but I dearly miss running trails.
Tonight? Dunno. The weather looks shitty again, I still can’t run, and who knows what the post-hash eating arrangements will be.
Hope that you had a good weekend and all is going well in your world.
Hi from Vero Beach. Weather looks excellent, we are going out to shore fish in a few.
Rained off & on yesterday.
Where did the hash end yesterday? That looked like a nice covered ending.
It ended at an long-abandoned restaurant off Old Roswell Rd near Mansell. Bob, who showed up at the start on bike, can probably give you better details.
Not surprised to find my tax preparer is not doing in-person consultations this year. Going to have to figure out how to get my data to her…
Oh, and I just realized that today is Presidents Day. Hope those of you who get a paid holiday today enjoy yourself!
Wow, I just saw a YouTube ad for some full-stack web development architecture from Wix they are (still) calling “Corvid”. Um, time for a rebranding, folks. Consult with the people who used to have a diet pill called “Ayds” back in the 1980s.
Nice to see you yesterday Paulie! There is some really good trails around there.
Barb, that is on Westside parkway behind a new hotel they just put up. It’s a great property, I’m surprised somebody has not tried to re-open something in there.
Barb, glad the weather is in your favor. My coon ass friend posted pictures of snow- he’s about 15 miles from the Gulf.
With Saturday a weather wash out, I rode 75 minutes indoors. I was looking for Alp du Zwift, but couldn’t find it! I have downloaded a map, which may help.
Debbie’s leg is still a problem. Doc in a box called in an antibiotic, but she is reaching out to the orthopedist she saw after she broke he ankle.
Brownie is not well. He seems to have vertigo, which also means little control of his back legs. Got a prescription and we’ll see. I’m worried.

Bummer on all accounts. Wishing good health to Debbie and the Brown Man.
Steve – hope Debbie (& Brownie ) start feeling better.
I rode the new Westside Beltline Connector trail yesterday. New bike trails get doled out so sparingly in Atlanta, “You can have one new mile, as a treat.” The trail starts at the end of Ivan Allen and runs for about a mile before it ends in a construction fence. You can also follow a bike path beyond the start of the trail to the upcoming Rodney Cook park. It’s still under construction, but there’s a huge opening in the fence on the back side of the park. Eventually this connector trail is supposed to connect with the Westside Beltline, and then ultimately with the Silver Comet Trail.
What there is of the trail is nice. I guess they had to start somewhere.
Bonnie and I stumbled upon that section last year. We thought about using it on a Monday night trail, but parking in that area and COVID…
Yeah, there’s no where near there that I’d park and expect afterwards to still have all four wheels on my car, or my car at all for that matter.
Actually got in the ocean, it wasn’t too cold. Caught nothing, but that was no surprise. Saw plenty of spinner sharks jumping, so figured they scared away all the fish.
