As I type this it’s 5:50am, I’ve had a poor night of sleep, eaten a double serving of pancakes and blackberries with maple syrup, and am considering going down into the basement to ride the trainer before starting work. I was going to go on an actual bike ride this morning, but I am feeling kinda sad and just can’t motivate myself to do it.

I wish the City would finally pick up my yard bags so I can stop removing the bags of dog shit that inconsiderate dog owners have been depositing into them.
There, I feel a little bit better.
Apparently hand sawing is a decent workout for a 54-year-old man because my AppleWatch gave me more credit for yesterday’s hour of yard work than for the four hours I spent doing yard work on Saturday. Go figure.
Birthdays on Wednesdays are bad enough, but thanks to Coronavirus I can’t comfortably gather with others at a bar to have celebratory drinks. Dangen! Oh well, such is life. If I can make it to 56 I will happily celebrate my birthday next year in a bar, or so I hope, under the leadership of a new president, or so I hope. Other than trainer riding and work I don’t have anything else planned for today. I am trying to figure out if I am going to stay at home and do my normal Wednesday routine of Top Chef with Betsy, or finding fun elsewhere.
That’s all I have.
Time to go work off a couple of pancakes.

One of my friends told me to go take a picture with a speed limit 55 sign, and listen to Sammy Hagar. I didn’t get around to it (& finding a sign in Atlanta)
We are at the South Cove county park campground in Seneca, SC now. Not enough trees at all, but they left a few here & there. (Not the treeless hellscape of Margaritaville, but close.) A storm came thru right after we got set up, our friends were going to come over by boat. So instead, we drove to their house & hung out on their deck. It was lovely, a breeze & the temp had dropped to 75.
We are heading out shortly for a hike with them.

A very happy birthday, my friend! I think I remember 55 as being a good year!
The logger stopped by for a chat last night. I don’t know if it’s enough work to make it worth his time, but he has another property nearby and will schedule us together. Part of the problem is access- he can’t really get on the driveway with his machines and only wants to set up one time. He may be able to drag via the back, so it will work out.
Was hoping to get on the bike after work last night, but the logger and thunder had me indoors. Maybe tonight.

Well that experiment worked. I just ate a “quesadilla†the most non-Mexican one ever constructed. Inside two spinach flaxseed tortillas I heated fake chicken nuggets, garlic cheese curds, and some Sriracha mayonnaise. Damn it was tasty!

Yeah, last week I got a robocall telling me about that. It sucks, especially since I have had bags out for three weeks now, fear they may burst when finally picked up, and have dog owners leaving me shit bags. I hope the City makes good on the scheduled pickup day for my larger yard waste since that’s been on the curb for nearly two months.
If they keep the scheduled pick-up they’ll most likely take the other stuff at the same time.
FYI…
Data point: Freon (R-22) is running about $15/pound (wholesale, comes in 30-pound jugs).
And a run capacitor (10 uF/440V) runs $3, to replace the defective one that prevents your HVAC blower motor from running.
In other news, we are fostering (and possibly eventually adopting) 2 x tiny kittens. Daisy (2 pounds) and Teddy (1.7 pounds). Both had to be taken to the Vet today (stat) because of diarrhea and throwing up. Both got IV fluid and antibiotics, now it’s “wait and see”. Interestingly we heard the third kitten in the “abandoned on the side of the road” litter is suffering from the same symptoms.
