I kicked ass at playing the role of “lazy American” last night! After “clocking out” and then reheating leftovers for dinner, I plopped my ass on the couch and watched videos all night long. Okay, I did fail to be completely lazy, because I also put away the clothes I washed in the morning, washed my day’s worth of dirty dishes, and did 45 minutes on the trainer. 🤷🏻‍♂️

As I type this I’ve just finished eating a breakfast of more leftovers, this time a tater tot casserole I made over the weekend. In a few minutes when I am done pecking out this post I’ll be getting dressed to go outside to mow the lawn and do a little front yard cleanup when daybreak occurs.

Today was supposed to be the triumphant last day of my “100 Days of Swift” and “100 Days of SwiftUI” training. Sadly, or maybe not so sadly, I fell off the wagon about a week ago because I was too busy trying to actually write my own Swift code in SwiftUI for “XYZ Corp”. Turns out writing yourself is harder than following along with training, so maybe I am actually learning it now? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Guess what, the fact that one hundred days have passed means that we’ve been battling the pandemic for more than one hundred days, with no end in sight. ☹️

Hope you all have a good Tuesday, and that you are remaining healthy.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 193.2 pounds (-2.2 from last week’s weigh-in); if only I had remembered to weigh myself before eating breakfast! 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

*Fist bump* yo!!! I’m 123.5. Anything at or below my pre-hashing weight of 125 is OK with me for now. Now I just have to figure out a more permanent strength-training solution now that it appears my gym likely won’t be opening back up again until waaaay in the future, and it is still hard to buy weights for home use.

    • *Fist bump back atcha!*

I’m telling you, yard work is CrossFit for the home owner, or the friend of the home owner… 😂

Done with today’s yard work, which turned out to be more of an exercise than anticipated because some of the “small” trees I wanted to take down were too thick for the loppers and required hand sawing.

Good on you both. If I would only shut my pie hole, losing weight would be a lot easier.

After having a “telemedicine” session with my PCP yesterday, his suggestion was to go to the DPH website, schedule an appointment (currently 10 days away), then just show up at the testing site. After I shut down and waited for Debbie to return from her errands, I rolled into the test location about 4:45 to find they had already closed for the day. I swear I read they were open until 7PM. Oh well…

Stop #2 was a Shingles vaccine shot at the CVS. They took their sweet time, but in about 25 minutes I was out. Sore arm this morning, but that’s all. By the time I got home, it was almost 7 and there was thunder in the air, so I passed on cutting the grass.

I’ll try for the Covid test later today. Also later today should be a visit from the logger to scope out the property. Yippee!

  3. Out of curiosity I just looked up my weight when this whole Shelter in Place started, around March 17th, and I was 213.2 pounds. I’ve lost exactly twenty pounds! 🎉

Great job on losing weight, I think this is proving (for you) what not going out eating & drinking can do.
I eat too much & don’t exercise enough.
Camping is hot & humid, spent a lot of time inside yesterday.
Heading up to SC today to a different lake & campground.
Might have dinner (outside of course) with some friends that live up there tonight.

    • Thanks. No doubt eating meals I have prepared and drinking less alcohol, combined with manual labor, has helped immensely. I wish I’d carve out more time for bike riding, perhaps I will starting next week.

Have a fun time in SC.

Trying to get packed up, just to go to the next campground is harder than you’d expect.

  6. Steve Brady says:

Covid test done. That was 10 seconds I could have lived without. No line where I went.
