I’ve been doing a lot of adulting this summer and it’s wearing on me.

After spending two hours waiting for my car, I was shown that that the rim, on which the tire that had a screw in it last week is mounted, was bent. Coincidence? Probably, but FFS! The Firestone store did a good job, put a bead of sealant on the rim, filled the tire with air, and sent me on my way after charging me only $30.

This repair worked great until about fifty miles outside of Atlanta. While driving through another pocket of torrential rain the TPMS fired yet again. Ten miles of nervous driving later I pulled into a QT an pumped the tire again, and nervously drove home.

Of course the tire’s air pressure was low again this morning as I pulled into Kroger.

I guess I’ll make an appointment with the Mazda dealer, during which I will once again weigh my automotive options…

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 213.4 pounds (+1.6 from last week’s weigh-in); I’ll contribute this gain to “stress”.

I think you just have bad Mazda juju at this point. Get the tire fixed (or whatever needs to be done) and trade it in for a new car somewhere else.

so I guess the hash last night ended at the Black Sheep bar, that is right across the street from Allan’s firehouse. If I had known, I’d have sent him over to say hi.

    • Bonnie and I have talked of going there, and even ending a Monday night there as well. Oh well, Stan beat us to the punch.

Glad to hear you made it back to Atlanta, albeit with more drama. Well, I still have a couple other ideas for Monday night endings… 😉 Guess I need to sign up for a trail and lay it!

From a fellow hasher: “I tried the cheesesteak – one of the best I’ve ever had – and brussel sprouts. I swiped a couple fried cheese curds from Marty, good but not as good as Public Enema’s. Sushi bar is a thing but have to be sitting at the sushi bar to order it.”

      • I read this as “I tried the cheesecake” and thought it to be an odd pairing with brussels sprouts, even for a hasher. 😂

Sorry to hear the car is once again on the fritz. No such incidents occurred with my flights yesterday. I’m wading through emails and trying to catch up after being gone for 7 work days.

I was pleased to find my weight did not blossom while on “vacation”. 208 and change this morning- considering the limited exercise all week, I’ll take it as a win.

I was supposed to start dieting today; I’m off to a bad start.

Today I also am supposed to become Lipitor-dependent by starting to take the prescription prescribed for me. Yay genetics!

  4. Car appointment set for 8:00 tomorrow morning. I wonder if I’ll gave to add air again between now and then.

Amazon Treasure Truck has gotten me again – just bought a Bluetooth mini projector.
It should be $300, got it for $230. I think we may test it out, and then send to the relatives in Spain, I think it would be cool with the kids to have a movie night somewhere that isn’t watching TV.
(Allan’s parents will probably pay us back for it – so it can be from all of us)
