On the same day that I praised Amazon’s service by delivering twenty, AA batteries to my house on Saturday I cursed them twice for their new lockers at Whole Foods. Unlike the 5th Street Amazon store which will hold deliveries for up to two weeks, one must pick up Whole Foods locker deliveries within two days, which required me to drive to midtown to claim my purchases on Saturday. Then, later on Saturday I received a text telling me that the USPS (hate them) couldn’t deliver one purchase to Whole Foods, so now I have to contact them in order to straighten things out. Dangen! Of course I tried on Saturday and after spending five minutes providing them all of my pertinent information was informed by their voice service that the department was closed for the day.
As for the rest of my weekend it was quite enjoyable, including a road-heavy Wheelhopper yesterday. The trail wasn’t the best-marked trail I have ever been on, and because of that I wound up accidentally short-cutting. The trail also reminded me how bad I am at riding a bike off-road.
Stacy, Steve — I am still interested in meeting for lunch today if your desires/schedules still permit it.
Oof, I just looked at this week’s weather forecast. Brutal! 🥵
Arrived in Munich from Berchtesgaden via train. Supposed to rain the whole time I’m here. Ugh. The two families of Americans I have met on this journey are from Atlanta.
Someday I’ll get to a Wheelhopper! 😕
Cue “It’s a Small World After All†😂
Sorry it’s going to rain while you are there. 💩 You remember rain in the forecast for Cologne is how I wound up visit Bremen, right?
Yes, but I don’t see something like that happening on this trip…
Understood. Perhaps you can buy some Berliner Regenschirme (â˜”ï¸ â˜”ï¸ )?
At least you are not bike riding nor camping, right? 🙂
Hope the rest of your trip is fun, even with the rain.
Bundesliga (German soccer league) has finished its season. My team, Werder Bremen, finished a respectable eighth this year. I think next season I will make a concerted effort to go to Bremen and see a game in person.
At least one of the soccer teams for whom I root beat a Red Bulls team. ATLUTD, you played eleven-on-ten for 55 minutes and lost 1-0? WTF?
Lunch is a possibility. We are cleaning up a problem left over from the changes installed Saturday, but I should be available.
And I did want to do WH yesterday, but a bit of the vertigo came in (and is still hanging) and I decided maybe drinking a lot of beer wasn’t a good treatment.
Saturday was a full day in the office, then went to a Preakness viewing/progressive dinner party. With only 2 stops, the progress was brief but fun. Sunday, instead of WH, I tried to get the tractor stuck where I saw the snake the other day. 20 minutes of work and the tractor was mobile again and the snakes’ spot was still secure.

Listening to Dressy Bessy’s (Saturday night’s opening band) CD “Electrified†from 2005, which I ranked as my seventh-favorite release of that year. Funny to search this blog’s history and realize that I was supposed to see them in 2005, but never did.
sorry to miss Wheelhopper -but at the same time – was I?
We worked on the electrical – that is slow annoying work, but its getting there.
The kitchen had never been rewired – so trying to run all new wiring, under the house, thru the crawl space, some up thru the attic – what a good time.
We think everything is in place to tear out the ceiling and start over with new lighting, we will see……….
I got good walks in both Saturday & Sunday morning – Felicia was in town, so walked & caught up on life.
I went to OK Café Saturday night for dinner – did NOT have a Ham with Cam sighting.
Of course you were sorry Barb, I was there! ðŸ˜
As Wheelhoppers go this one was more urban than not, which was fine by me since my off-road skills are questionable.
We figured it would be pretty urban, but gotta get this kitchen done.
We did make a nice meal outside – and we will do that again tonight. Learning to cook everything on the grill & Egg can be interesting.
Did you pack up your Crockpot? That might be a way to cook some other way while you renovate.
no – we have a crockpot meal planned for later this week (I think). I just keep forgetting to get things out of the freezer.
I think we will make a pizza on the Egg soon too – we had some left over chicken from dinner last night.
OK Cafe?!
//Checks email/text for a missed invitation…
We made our OK Cafe run on Friday night.
“Say, why don’t we meet for lunch at OK Cafe…?” 🙂

Having not heard from our lunch-meetup instigator by now I am pulling the plug on my participation and heading in a different direction.
Stacy, you will receive your library card back at a future meetup.
I pinged her on Messenger and got crickets.
“Iselle I never knew ye!†– the long advertised Colony Square corner restaurant Iselle is not opening after all, the signage has been changed to Rumi’s Kitchen today.
Yeah, head chef of Iselle moved on and the landlord didn’t want to take a chance on an unknown person instead. https://atlanta.eater.com/2019/5/17/18629106/rumis-kitchen-persian-restaurant-opening-midtown-atlanta
ACF’s Moonlite trail start is up in Marietta, a 42 minute drive from East Atlanta. Looks as if my night has just opened up… Maybe I’ll get in a run or ride around the hood tonight instead.
Glad Whole Foods is nearby, because I stopped there at lunch and picked up an Amazon delivery (I ordered five small things and each got shipped separately), and now the “undeliverable†package from Saturday was just delivered.
