Last night I somehow managed to screw up a dead trail, I’ll blame the fact that i laid it backward. I intended to take the hash through Canbagetown Park, but was already headed away from it when I discovered my faux pas. Combine that with all of my shiggy sections falling through the pack was forced to run a four-mile mostly-road run. We did manage to have a decent ending, the new bar “Manny’s” in Grant Park.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 212.4 pounds (-0.4 from last week’s weigh-in); not great, but still headed in the right direction.

  1. And thanks to Bonnie I know today is National German Beer Day (in Germany?)! On this day in 1516 the “German Beer Purity Law” (das Reinheitsgebot) was enacted.

Don’t listen to WLB, trail was just fine for a Monday night trail :). I enjoyed it, and I was tired and didn’t need a shiggy trail with tons of checks TBH.

*Fist bump* Paulie. 🙂 I am still at 131.5… I can’t believe it. Yay me (too).

Taking the new bike to the shop today (or tomorrow) for some adjustments before STU. It doesn’t fit on my car rack (poop!) so I’ll get in a few more miles biking to Atlanta Cycling (Ansley).

root canal done – what a fun morning.
Endodontist said even though it wasn’t hurting like it was, the infection was still there, so it was a good thing I got this done.
Now to go back to the dentist to get the crown – he said as long as I do it in the next few weeks……..

Tonight we need to get the cover off the camper, so we can get it ready to leave Thursday. (Allan works Wednesday, and I have to work Thursday morning)

Laid trail backwards… there’s a has name in there somewhere!

Bonnie, how does your bike not fit on the rack?

I rode after work last night and it was still hot. I think my total on the clock was 14 at an average of 16. I think the days of 20 as an average are long gone, but who knows.

Looks like the weekend will be clear for STfU. Maybe a little rain Friday.

Steve, I have a very old rack that straps onto the trunk.
      1) The top tube is more flat/oval vs. round which doesn’t fit securely in the rubber holders you set the top tube on (that were designed for smaller, more round top tubes I guess?).
      2) It’s a women’s bike and therefore the more downward slanted top tube makes the frame area very small and it didn’t fit anyway unless I removed one of the water bottle cages.
I would like to get a newer style bike rack that better accommodates my bike (hitch style preferred) but my Accord is going to be 19 this year and I probably don’t want to invest in adding a hitch and an expensive rack at his point… although I do plan to drive that thing into the ground and it has less than 130k.
I could maybe take one or both of the wheels off and see if I can fit it inside the car…

      • You should be able to get it into the trunk with seats down by only removing the front wheel. I performed that task more than once in the Jackmobile.

I’m with Paulie- a bike in the car is much better than a bike on the car. Although I’ve never tried, I think I could get 2 bikes in mine.
