This is the wrong direction. I’m neither gaining or losing, which is frustrating. I’m trying to eat better (despite my trip to the Varsity for lunch yesterday) but my current lack of exercise isn’t helping.
See above for lunch yesterday- I did walk there and had plans to walk back, but they were unusually slow, so I MARTA’d back.
Dinner last night was pasta and procuttio (sp) in a cream based sauce (I AM trying to eat better!) with onion and peas with a bit of garlic.
I was in bed by 9 and out by 9:15- never heard Debbie come to bed and only let the dogs out when I got up. If Debbie let them out, I never knew it.
We all need to ride our bikes!!!
Me especially – maybe this evening when I get home from work I’ll load up the bike and head over to Roswell to ride by the river. Its just so hard anymore to ride on the streets, no one pays attention (to not just bikes on the roads, to everything).
We are going to watch some hockey on Saturday – looks like it might be a nice day, we might actually be able to tailgate! its just us & my friends Mark & June – but if anyone else is interested – not sure what the seats are -but at least we could hang before the game.
I think Allan isn’t working Sunday (the swapping shifts & the mandatory OT has me messed up on when he works) – we just may be able to swing something bike riding wise!
I think I’m going to be able to buy a new bike soon, I just need to figure out what to buy. I currently only have a mountain bike. Not sure I want a true road bike (do I?), maybe a hybrid of some sort? But definitely something that will be easier to ride on the road! Need to start researching…
The problem is, my mountain bike is 20 years old, broken (only 7 of 21 gears work, among other issues), and is heavy AF. I usually ride the husband’s mountain bike (which is lighter / a much better bike) but it’s also too big for me which probably isn’t good. I’m unsure if I should invest in my mountain bike? However, I still do require a mountain bike as the Southside Trail will be unpaved for years to come, so I do need fat tires for that… I guess it can’t hurt to take it somewhere and get an estimate to repair it…
Bonnie, you could kill two birds at one stone at http://www.intownbicycles.com, near Trader Joe’s at Monroe and 10th. I’ve bought several bikes from them and they’re always completely low-key. Repairs and maintenance has always been solid as well. It might not cost as much as you think to rehab your old bike. I think my bike is a hybrid, and I’m definitely going to take it on the Southside trail soon. In any case, talking to someone and getting a quote doesn’t cost anything, but sure does disperse the emotional energy that accumulates when we sit and spin tales in our head. 🙂
I forgot to mention that Bonnie has two extra tickets to Friday night’s Georgia Swarm lacrosse match, played at Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth. She can provide more details if you want to join us.
2 FREE tickets, first come, first served! Georgia Swarm (10-4) vs. Toronto Rock (8-3). 7:35 PM. I’ve never been to a lacrosse game before, should be interesting! If no one wants them in this space,, I’ll move on to asking other folks…
To my credit I chose to force myself to put in an hour on the trainer before coming into work today. As an added bonus, traffic was much better at 9:15am than it would have been at 7:45am.
good for you – I watched GMA as a woke up & then got ready for work.
I wish I could convince myself to exercise in the mornings…….
but it hasn’t happened yet.
heading to Chicken Salad Chick for lunch – would that be considered healthy??? probably not.
The threading does get tricky here sometimes. In this case if you’d commented on Steve’s comment, then it would have fallen in line after mine. But it all varies, depending upon the level of replies any one post has gotten.
or – you cam bring the bike to my house (Paulie needs to bring his bike by sometime, or so he says) and have Allan look at it & assess it for free.
but – you still should get a new(er) bike as well.
Dean – (aka Jack@ss) and another Wheelhopper guy, Mark (aka Anal Tap) – work at times, or at least hang out at the bike shop next to George’s.
They might be able to help you out as well.

I think Sunday might need to be a Comet day or some Silk Sheets- who’s in?

Slicks on the road would be worthwhile as well. I used to commute on my old mountain bike with slicks.

I will be bringing my bike up there. For a small fee I can bring Bonnie and her bike as well. ðŸ˜
A lot of cycling knowledge in this group into which you can tap I’m sure.

I wish Allan wasn’t working, he actually played Lacrosse way back when. I know nothing about that sport.
I don’t know much about it either. I need to study up this week. I scored these 4 tickets from a Facebook contest.
I know that they run around tossing a ball using nets attached to sticks. Did I get too technical? ðŸ˜

Lurker, thanks! I’m thanking you down here here because I can’t comment on your comment :).
I see you, Bonnie, you’re welcome. 🙂

I’ll put this down here too –

Since a 3-20 post isn’t up yet, I’ll say it here…
3-20 is Great American Meat Out Day! I think perhaps it should be one of your V. days this week? 😉
