Mixed bag weekend:
– had a lot of fun hanging with friends — hiking on Saturday, hashing yesterday.
– most sports teams let me down, fortunately this has no real impact on my life; UF won, Werder Bremen gave up a goal in extra time to draw, and the Jets lost to the goddamn Dolphins.
– M6 will have to in for inspection and possibly maintenance for its brakes and the tire that I dinged a couple weeks ago. In typical fashion the TPMS came on again yesterday, and when I stopped at Kroger to check and fill any low tires their air machine was out of order. Dangen!
The weekend wore me out, I fell asleep watching football around 8:45pm.
A good time was had by most. I’m glad to say only 2 crashes the whole event. One at the beginning of the women’s scratch race, which we were able to put back in and finish, and one in the men’s scratch race which we only heard about over the radio. The only Ga Tech rider the whole weekend. Banged his elbow pretty good.
No more attempts at firing an unloaded pistol and a compliment from one of the tougher coaches that I ran a tight race and he appreciated it.
Despite having a poor boarding position on SW, had a middle seat between 2 nice retired nurses heading to Columbus to do some training.
A new set of bike races this weekend in town. Friday at the velodrome, then College Park and Hapeville on Saturday and Sunday. Make plans to attend.

“A majority of cell phone users will receive an alert on Thursday, September 20, with the header “Presidential Alert” and the message, “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
You can expect to see the alert pop up on your phone at 2:18 p.m. ET so long as you have your phone turned on, are within range of a cell tower, and if your wireless provider is part of the WEA system.
In its news release, FEMA said it could postpone the national test to October 3 if the agency is dealing with a major weather event, but it has not yet made that determination. FEMA is currently handling the response to Hurricane Florence which hit the Carolinas on Friday, causing heavy winds and rainfall in the region.
FEMA officials told CNN on Saturday morning that they are still planning to conduct the test this week.
The agency is required by law to conduct a nationwide test of its public alert systems no less than once every three years.”

as long as they don’t go crazy with these alerts – you can’t even shut them off.
Not super busy this weekend – Allan now comes home & sleeps after shift, so we need to remember to not make any morning plans after he works.
He was at Station 13 last shift, and there again today, he will be protecting Paulie’s neighborhood.
Had a cabinet maker friend come over Saturday evening -we are finally starting the new kitchen remodel designing. Gave him ideas, he’s going to draw up some things, and eventually we can come up with a plan. We need to figure out the appliances, so we can get those measurements. At least we already have the fridge, just need a new dishwasher, stove top, ovens, and sink.
I always found it fitting that I lived in the neighborhood served by station 13.

I don’t have it, but found it apropos that the station located in my hood would have the number considered unlucky by many.
BTW – Allan is NOT at station 13 after all – he got sent to Station 1 – down near the Benz.
Oh nice, he can visit the raccoons and opossums you’ve captured and released then. 😉

Decided two days in a row, especially with the second being a Monday night, was too much. Besides, I don’t have any trapped critters to bring with me this time. 🙂
I bet you could just find a critter up in Roswell, there are plenty near the river.
If I can get myself moving, I may do a little road bike ride before the hash.
