Yesterday was a recovery day. The end of the month draws near as I battle with some new skin itchiness.

    Yesterday was a drive day! Oh the adventures. Had a great weekend Fri/Sat in Savannah and then Sunday in Neptune Beach. Visited my cemetery (all cemeteries are my cemeteries, but I specifically mean the one smack in the middle of downtown Savannah), a brewery (Service Brewing down near the river); got to see friends I hadn’t seen in 4-5 years and met some great new ones. It’s always interesting when giving your hash name and you hear, “oh I’ve heard of you!” 😉 Rained quite some on Sunday but cleared up late afternoon/evening so it was wonderfully cool and tolerable for a late-May Florida evening.

    Had some car trouble when leaving Florida – doh! Not mine, thank heavens, but Lisa’s car. Thankfully Jacksonville had an airport (fairly) nearby so a car could be rented to get us back to Savannah so I could get back to Atlanta. None of the local places were open because of the holiday! Thankfully we were hitting the road at 7am to begin with so even with all that hoopla and someone having to come get us to get to the airport, we had a car rented and were on our way by 9:10. Hey, nothing to do but go with the flow, right? Jacksonville has a really cute little airport. Who knew?

        Yeah, it really does. Thankfully she remained cool and collected – we were driving when it happened –the little wrench symbol came on and we couldn’t accelerate anymore: the manual in the glove box indicated this was electrical and the car was put into “limp home mode.” Um…say what? Limp indeed though!

        Thankfully she’s already been looking into plans to get a new one and has some friends there who can check it out. We got it safely to a parking lot instead of having to get it towed, but poor girl now has to get back down there to deal with it this week. Only 2 hours, but still!

          Limp home mode is normally a transmission issue. I hope that’s not the case.

            Oh Sunday was actually a lot more low key at a house party instead of partying. We started early so we all got good night’s sleep.

      While I was sulking about the M6’s windshield (see yesterday’s post) at the campout another hasher went to town and his transmission seal blew.

      SoCo raced to name him on Friday night a name that I thought was lame, “Cock Tower” because his name is Ben and he is tall, we pushed for a rename to “Blew a Seal” on Saturday because of the transmission and the fact that he was in the Navy. I have no idea what to call him now. 😂

          Perhaps, I will call them today. I already give them far more than I’d like to insure the car so I don’t want to risk that going any higher.

          Is it a big crack?
          in your line of sight?
          if it isn’t big, you can just do something much cheaper, I can’t remember what its called, that will stop it from cracking further. I did that once on the CRV, it never got worse, and I never had to replace the windshield.

            It’s not big crack, but it’s deep. It is obscured by the rear-view mirror so if I can get it patched/plugged/glued or whatever to stop it spreading then I wouldn’t mind doing that first.

            at Sam’s Club sometimes they have guys in the parking lot doing that kind of repair. I’ll think of what its called eventually.

            I had a sunburst crack once and my insurance paid for those SafeLight people to come out and patch it. It’s been six years and haven’t had a problem.

    We managed to capture 4 kitties from the side of the road where some azzhat had left them. 2 have already been claimed and we think we’ll keep a pair to join Paul in the mancave to work on the mouse population out there. I guess if the horses were neater about their eating, we wouldn’t have the population. The old barn had a couple snakes that handled the mice, but Debbie was never a fan!

    Murphy is now home and seems pleased with his new surroundings. Debbie took him on a walk of the pastures and he got to run around a bit to get his yaya’s out before spending the night in the barn. We thought it would really come down, but there were dry spots on the driveway as I left, so I don’t think we got much rain.

        Horse people have barns. Barns need barn cats. Ours is just really happy to have mice as a part of his family. Us, notsomuch.

    Barb, you and Allan were missed on Sunday. Surly and mystery hare Burnt laid a fun trail. Also, I wonder how the Challenge of the Centuries fared with weather.

    It didn’t rain anywhere near as much as we thought it would all weekend, but I think we got a decent amount Sunday night & then last night, the sod should be happy.

    Allan got me some new 27.5 wheels for my mountain bike, and mid fatty tires. I always felt like the 29″ wheels made the bike too big. We went out to Allatoona Creek Saturday morning, the website said it was open, and it wasn’t too wet. But, then I saw a FB post about an hour later (when we were already riding) that the park was closed due to it being too wet. Anyway – I really like the new wheels and tires!

    Went & saw Solo – the newest Star Wars movie. I enjoyed it – I like they finally made up a story on where Han Solo & Chewie came from.

    Besides that – did stuff around the house & yard. Wanted to go to Black Sheep Sunday, but just didn’t feel like the hour drive. So, we didn’t.

    And now for something completely different: I lost cheap sunglasses this past weekend and am going through my Amazon orders to see what ones I bought in the past. Looking at my order history is a lot like looking at a photo album as I recall what was happening in my life when I made each Amazon purchase.
