26, 60, 28: number of miles I rode Friday, Saturday, Sunday
1: number of iPhone screens I cracked this weekend
Too Many: number of calories I consumed this weekend; today I reverse this trend
A windy and chilly, but incredibly enjoyable, weekend. It felt good to be out on the road riding. I look forward to not crashing again so that I can do a lot of it this year when the rain lets up and the temperatures rise to normal.
Thanks again to Bob for allowing me to sleep in his camper.
Saw on Instagram (@insideperimeter) that some of the people you may know followed up on their trash collection outing yesterday. ðŸ‘🻠Great job, folks! ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»
All I did this weekend to save the planet was to use a solar charging panel to recharge the iPhone with a cracked screen.
It almost seems a sin to reverse your trend today. It’s German Beer Day in the U.S. today! (24th annual to boot) 😀
Ha! I can still reverse the trend by cutting out the eating of snacks all day. 😉
That’s the spirit! I mean, if it were Belgian beer or Canadian beer or whatever other beer day, no problem. But it’s GERMAN. 🙂 Too bad you don’t have German class tonight.
Great weekend! Fun times were had and some really great roads to ride. You are welcome in mobile casa Knoll any time, you snore much less than you think you do. Unless my snoring drowned out yours 🙂 And don’t forget that 5 star review!
My contribution to Earth Day was only running my generator for about an hour to charge my phone. I need to get with Mango on setting up USB chargers so I won’t need the generator at all.
Another benefit was getting a quick hot shower in the camper on Saturday because the shower truck had a very limited water supply. 🤯
I heard from Bob Bender that the water pressure still wasn’t good (& there wasn’t much for hot water) on Sunday. We just showered when we got home.
Earth Day?
I turned every light on in our house at 8:00pm, an ED annual tradition.
(Because I can.) 😄
Earth Day trivia:
Q: What powers an all-electric car?
A: Coal (and Natural Gas).
Bonus:
Q: How is it possible Apple can possibly be a 100% renewable energy company?
(Including 100% of Apple retail stores.)
A: They purchase…”Renewable Energy” offsets.

Except your light bulbs are probably all LED now and draw much less electricity. 😛
And future generations won’t need this planet, they’ll just jettison to Mars or planets in other solar systems…
There are currently 7.6 Billion folks in the World.
And counting.
And 325.7 million in the US.
Give or take the ones that promised to leave if Trump became President (we’re waiting).
And they all have to drink/eat (poop), wear clothes, have a place to live, use/charge iPhones, etc, etc.
Any way you measure it, “renewable energy”, non-GMO food, etc. is just simply not going to get it done. By f-a-r.
So who (what) decides who drinks/eats (poops) wears clothes, has a place to live, gets/charges the latest iPhone, etc, etc?
$$$.
Always has been, always will be.
How do you think the richest company in the World (Apple) can pull off a laughable “100% Renewable Energy” claim?
(Aside from the gullibility of the general public), $$$. Billions (and billions and billions) of $$$.
In other news, today’s Atlanta pollen count is in the 30’s.
Let’s enjoy this while we can.
Using 100% renewable energy, since 1970,

I believe we are long-passed the tipping point of having too many people, using too many resources, to make this planet “nice†again. Just because it’s beyond repair doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to help, or at least slow down the degradation. Of course this is just my opinion. 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸
Ipso facto, we have (way) t-o-o many people.
So, who wants to go first?
Anybody? Anybody?
(Think about it…)

I’m not procreating, so at least I’m not adding to the population problem. (y) 🙂
“Natural Selection†made the choice to not procreate for me — not that I had any great desire to be a father.
the damn molds that come out when it rains in pollen season KILL me. I feel worse today than when its a high pollen count.
Great weekend at STU – it was way too cold Thursday night, but over the weather was great. And – so glad the weather was nice Sunday morning – that 27 mile route that was really 28+ was a good route. Different than last year.
We pulled out onto the road just as it started sprinkling – superb timing.
Pouring when we got home, but got the camper in its spot on the 1st try – that was a miracle! Most of the laundry is done, rest of the day was spent putting things away, and being a slug on the couch. Leftover Skyline chili dogs were dinner.
Oh yeah, I returned with only one “craft†beer and way too many cans of Miller High Life. Guess I need to find time to make some bread and chili in the near future to start using those beers up.
Glad y’all had a good time. Even I got on my road bike at the end of Saturday and rode a bit. What I know is the gravel on parts of my dirt road do not help when on the road bike.
The new pony arrived (to Bear Creek) late Saturday evening. A long ride in the trailer, but he came off fairly easily and went right into his stall. Debbie rode him (in the rain) yesterday and he was a good boy. Current working name is Biff (his documented name is BFF something) which beats Leroy.

Biff – that’s not a bad name.
And Paulie – the High Life is rehydrating beer, so after you work out – drink one then!
Not sure what has prompted this, but I am listening to Boston’s first record front-to-back for the first time in over thirty-five years. I guess that it really has been such a long time…
It’s been such a long time, I think I should be going…
Time doesn’t wait for me, it keeps on rolling.
One of my favorites… came out in.. ’76? Maybe 75. Junior or Senior year of HS.
‘76.
This was the second album I every bought, the first being ELP’s “Brain Salad Surgeryâ€. I bought “Boston†at long-defunct Jimmy’s Music World in Flushing, New York.
I am a fount of useless knowledge.
“Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends. We’re so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside.” would be a great tag line for this blog. 😉

Awww. I was 5 years old. 🙂
It’s not like I was buying porn. I didn’t inadvertently do that until I was about twelve years old. 😱
A long, but true story.
Stacy, you have a way of bringing out the rabbit holes here, don’t you? I know this one isn’t yours, but still… 😉 😉 😉
Oh dear…
inadvertently????
That’s what makes it a long story. Next time we sit around drinking…
LOL! Okay, now. Looks like we all need to “sit around drinking” very soon then!
(and then come back here and fill Lurker in on the story) 😉
👊🼠Respek, Stacy! (Any Ali G fans here? https://youtu.be/iBKk1McBLxM)
I knew you had good taste in music!
