Really fun weekend of walking, cycling, and beer drinking.
My iPhone SE is starting to show signs of aging, including not connecting to public WiFi access points. Poop.

Well, after deleting and reinstalling my VPN app all is working again. Not a great solution, but at least it’s a solution (for now).
Waschsalon visit done, in the office, and now eating cereal from the box at my desk.
Back at work to get some rest! 2 long days this weekend. 13 hours on the clock Saturday and a full 9 hours Sunday. Funniest moment of the weekend. All fields had finished yesterday, but we hadn’t sent out a sweep vehicle. A lady came to me and said her friends car was still in the parking lot and she didn’t see him hanging around start/finish and the online results didn’t show a finish time. I’m thinking, “oh shit, I’ve got a rider on the side of the road somewhere…” and about that time, here he comes, followed by 7 police cars, all running full blue lights!!!! The cops had marshalled all the intersections and just found him on the way in. I wasn’t fast enough to get a picture, damnit!!

bummer no pictures.
I got the first new bicycle I’ve had since I was a kid yesterday. A road bike, and a massive upgrade from my previous bike. Got my first fall on it out the way, no sense delaying things. 😂 The Beltline was insane yesterday and my inelegant attempt to get back on the concrete from the dirt median didn’t pan out. An upside to an accident-prone childhood is I know how to fall gracefully. A bit of roadrash, all good otherwise.
New Bike!! Congratulations. Glad you got that fall out of the way.
Thanks! Yes, no sense having it looming over me… 😉
I heard the Beltline was insane this weekend – that you could barely walk, much less ride. Congrats on the new bike – my suggestion – go somewhere a little less congested to get used to riding again………
Agreed. Heck, I can’t stand riding on the Beltline and I have been riding (and falling) a lot more than you! 🙂
Barb, did you go to Black Sheep? If so, how was it?
yes- we did go to Black Sheep – it was fun – big crowd, I guess since it was such a nice day.
I can generally tolerate the Beltline, but yesterday was by far the worst I’ve ever seen it. Now that I have a bike that I can ride some distance on I have far more options.
I had an old bike that I rode into the ground recently. It’s the matter of dealing with slight gaps between pavement and driveways, or dirt and the Beltline that snare me. Perhaps if I’d just slow down when trying to make that transition, but I was trying to flee the crowds. 🙂 The bike shop I purchased from is at the other end of the Beltline, which is why I was on the Beltline in the first place. I got dropped off at the shop intending to ride something home.
Well everyone – my big news – I got a job offer!
the International freight forwarding job – up or over in Roswell.
But – we are ironing out vacation time – so it isn’t a done deal yet. Waiting for a call back.
I’m going to have to go back to very little vacation time for a couple years I have a feeling – but the money was closer to my current salary than I thought it would be, so that isn’t a deal breaker.
ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»
Push for as much vacation time as you can, especially if you are going to make less. Good luck negotiating!
Woot WOOT!! Great news. Perhaps, if they don’t want to play much with vaca, take a couple weeks between jobs? I know that’s not the same, but…
Still waiting on a call back…………
Given that they made an offer they clearly want you, so that gives you some leverage on sweetening the package. Fingers crossed for you that you strike a deal that works for you. I think the other thing in your favor is you seem to be in a niche industry, which makes you more valuable.
