“Slow down, you move to fast”
As summer comes to an end I am trying to reel in what has been a hectic time for not doing much.
When you read this I might be eating breakfast in a restaurant, in fact, I am writing this at Folk Art.; admittedly my initial destination was Home grown but I was thwarted by the lack of parking due to my “late” arrival. I know that I will be rolling into XYZ a little later than I normally would but I want to eat breakfast more often, which will limit the number of days that I rush in to work.
You Are Not The Show
Last night I too the slow road to the Brian Collins lecture. I was stunned how much the weather had improved by the time that I left the office. In an effort to get more exercise, no matter how incidental, I forced myself to walk and I hugged the shady side of the street as much as I could in an effort to not break a sweat; I was marginally successful.
The lecture was good, informative and entertaining. The only downside was during the Q&A at the end when a woman in the front row took this time to constantly voice her opinions as if she were having a one-to-one conversation with Collins.

I keep changing my mind as to what I want to do this weekend, so so I won’t even hazard a guess at this point. Hope that yours will be filled with fun and happiness.

So what was the gig last night? And why did it not occupy the space they were promoting?
I did not get on much social media until getting home as I didn’t know what happened at the Vuelta, but it’s always a good day when a motorcycle runs over a spectator! Froome crashing twice and only losing 20 (40?) seconds is not a bad day.
As I let the dogs out this morning (Who let the dogs out? (you’re welcome) I expected showers or at least a damp deck, but was treated to a sky full of stars! Lightning flashing in the distance though.
And the car may be complete! The owner called me yesterday and said he was taking it home for a good test drive. Stay tuned.
I’m getting a hankering for some TC!!

Brian Collins is a reknown designer. Apparently the event, which was originally scheduled weeks ago, had to be held at Synchroncity Theater because the size of attendance as well as the BMI Hip Hop Awards being held at Woodruff. I Found this tidbit out as I walked up Peachtree.
Weird stage yesterday, spectator “attacking” a rider, and one getting pushed in front of neutral service by security. Then there was also some bike riding!
Allan got his extra credit gigs for Sept-
2 Atlanta United games, and Cirque De Soliel on Saturday night 9/23.
Trying to decide if I should find a friend to go to that Cirque show, its much more reasonably priced when I only have to buy 1 seat.
Weekend is shaping up, only day that is pretty wide open is Sunday. Black Sheep is down in Locust Grove, not sure we want to roadtrip down there. So, we may just go mountain biking, and maybe see if any friends are hanging at their pools & invite ourselves over.
Fabulous night at the stadium last night. Falcons were bumbly but still a good game. Food and alcohol is surprisingly fairly priced. Bottled Dasani water is $2, while $4 get a cup for soft drinks that do have unlimited refills. Craft beers were $6 for 12 OZ, $9 for 20 OZ. Food priced similar to what it would be at the respective restaurant, meaning $8 for a Fox Bros. pulled pork BBQ sandwich. I also paid $9 for a bratwurst.
Lots of kinks in the system. Online food ordering wasn’t working, and the server for the ticketing system crashed before the game. I was wise to take a printed copy of my email confirmation which served as my ticket.
I wouldn’t pay to go back, but if you end up with an opportunity to go, it’s a nice space. I like that stadium far better than the soulless new Braves stadium.
My parking space was in the gulch. As I was getting into my car after the game, I said to my friend “Warriors…come out to plaaayyyy…..” I unfortunately didn’t have any beer bottles to clink together while doing so.
I heard food/drink prices were reasonable, but for what you’d have to pay to get in I shed no tears for Mr Blank and Co.
I heard from a few friends that the App wasn’t working, I just don’t like the fact that there is no hard copy tickets.
Lines were too long & slow for the amount of people there.
And – it was draining phone batteries trying to load.
I bet there is some scrambling being done in the IT department before the next game. (I’m thinking its a Atlanta United game)
I thought I saw a commercial for IBM bragging they did all the IT for the new stadium! Oops. I’m sure some of this is just the first “trial by fire” of a big event, but when you install something as load based as a ticketing system, you better have ways to test before people are lined up.
I am putting Netflix on Double Secret Probation, if I don’t watch at least three programs this month I will cancel my subscription.
you watch plenty of programs – are they just not on Netflix?

Don’t think I have watched anything on netflix since finishing “Parks and Rec” or “The Mind of a Chef” a few months ago.
Blah, blah, blah…power outage this morning.
Blah, blah, blah….had to go around and reboot, reset everything.
Blah, blah, blah…Decatur Book Festival, DragonCon, etc. this weekend (no plans to attend either).
OK Cafe tonight, probably.
