Because I was in the office by 6:30am yesterday I felt okay leaving “early” at 4:00pm. My departure allowed me to miss a lot of traffic, and by barely making through many yellow-turning-red lights along Jupiter and later Courtland, I pulled into the driveway of the ITP Estate twenty-five minutes later! Wow! Those of you with a better commute, and I know many of you are out there, don’t understand the joy I had getting home before 4:30pm. It’s not as much joy as being on hiatus, but it’s close.
With an extreme amount of free time on what turned out to be a miraculously beautiful evening weatherwise I could accomplish so much!
Except I didn’t. Wah whaaaaaaaaaaa.
I did manage to make myself some dinner, hard boil some eggs for lunches this week (even though I have an income again I am trying not to eat out a lot, because who knows when I might need to be looking for a job again), watched some YouTube and Netflix, and basically nothing else.
What about the German homework? I just couldn’t motivate myself.
What about the Mets being in town to play the Braves? New stadium, don’t care.
I think that I fell asleep sometime around 10:00pm, and was awake again this morning a few minutes before 5:00am.
Trump Supporters Need Not Watch
My feelings toward the man currently occupying the White House is well documented.
One of the things I have been watching recently is Keith Olbermann’s “Resistance” videos put out by GQ magazine on YouTube.
Unlike the late-night talk show hosts who continue to criticize Trump via comedy, Olbermann is doing so I a tone that inspires concern over laughter. I think the work that Olbermann is doing is brilliant and hope that it leads to the political change I desire.
If you are a Trump supporter you probably won’t like Olbermann’s pieces, and you don’t have to since you are currently the ones with all of the power, which continues to frighten me…
Work and German class, my once-again “normal” Tuesday. Hope yours is a good one.

Congrats on that feeling – that commute and the whole “wow! It’s like I still have a whole day ahead of me!” feeling that comes with it. It’s something you must truly appreciate after your past commutes. And if you do nothing with your extra free time some days, that’s awesome too! Because at least you have a choice to do nothing with them now! 🙂
25 minutes still seems excessive, considering your distance from the office!!
I’ve “started” packing for AToC. At least assembling my stuff and writing my lists. When I have a major trip, I have to make lists for what to bring, as surely I’ll forget something. This is especially hard this time because of the motorcycle clothing. I found some long ago given to me Winter riding pants that may ultimately be too warm to use. Lows are currently in the 30’s at night, but the days are warming up into the 50’s and 60’s. I may well go overly prepared, but better than under.
Late word from Debbie is Ollie (the puppy) got stepped on by Phinney this morning. She thinks he’s OK. Very lucky.

I’ll be interested to see what that 25 minutes changes to after the bridge fix.
Not sure it will change that much as I am at the whim of traffic lights on surface streets.
I made it to work in fewer than fifteen minutes today, but that was at 6:00am.
busy as hell again – ARGHHHHHH – I’m tired of this.
I got some free Braves tickets for Friday night, and a friend lives super close to the stadium, so we are going to park at her place. Free, Free, FREE. That is my way to watch boring baseball. But- I do want to see the Battery & the stadium.
Closer than YOU? Wow. I would have suggested you ride your bikes over…
I think her place is closer than some of the official parking lots. They have a cop that you have to give all kinds of fun info to, so you can get into the neighborhood. She was thinking about selling, but decided to see what it is like living there.
