How disappointed I was that Steinbeck’s didn’t serve coffee and dessert. Pity.
The mystery dinner evening was fun. About ten of us met at Universal Joint for a drink, then for dinner we walked over to Scout. We were to finish with coffee and dessert, but as soon as everyone saw that there was no coffee and dessert served there, they left; I had already ordered a beer at the bar so I stayed.
A Not So Funny Thing Happened On The Treadmill
My LA Fitness routine lately has be thirty minutes on an elliptical followed by thirty fast-walking on a treadmill. Yesterday my time on the treadmill was cut to twelve minutes due to pain in my shins that refused to go away. Dangen!
Instead of quitting my workout I did thirty minutes on a stationary bike. I couldn’t let myself quit. After all, I thought that I was going to eating dessert last night…

Sounds like someone didn’t plan the progressive dinner to progress very well.
As Debbie was at the hospital visiting Andy (who is doing well, TYVM) I amused myself on my tractor. Pushing over trees to get the root ball out is fun, until the root ball hang up the undercarriage of the tractor. This has happened before, but I just use the bucket to pick up the front end and slide back on the tree trunk. Unless the root ball is so big that you can’t get past it. That would be a problem solved with a chain saw. I tried pushing over a couple of the smaller hickorys but they were stuck to the ground pretty tight. I’ll have to use my cunning and mechanical advantage.
Debbie had told me she had hosed off one of the horse blankets because of cat pee and not to use it. I thought I had selected the correct one, but when I went to put it on Mac’s back, the water and diluted pee poured out the bottom all over my arm. Eww. I then led Mac to the barn so he could eat in peace while I shopped for another blanket. We have many more blankets that we have horses, likely by a factor of 5 or more, as they come in sizes and you have to have the right size for the horse… somewhat. Fortunately, Gus doesn’t get blanketed as he still has his coat/fur and can keep himself warm unless it gets really cold.

That was my conclusion too, Steve. Unfortunately we were too late to go to the coffee shop in Oakhurst; it was well past 9:00pm when we finished dinner. Oh well.
I don’t understand you animal owners… π
I don’t understand collecting horse blankets. I’m now in the market for a used clothes washer to put in the man cave so we can clean them at the end of the blanketing season.
Trying to plan out how to accomplish all the things I need to do today. Being unemployed is not as joyous and relaxing as one might think.
I hear ya there! At least until you have the next gig lined up, then it will be. π
It always sounds like you’re too busy to be EMPLOYED! π
So true. I am currently having a beer in midtown because I needed to sit. Read about all of my busyness tomorrow…
busy day………..
We went to Palookaville for a corndog & boozy shake last night after Allan gave Clifford some ideas on how to clean up glue & god knows what off a cement floor to make it ready to be tiled.
Also did another strength & tone class at the Y last night – my arms are tired today, but it is a good tired.
I am ruining my workout with a couple of beers and too much food at Tap. Spending a lot of money and consuming too many calories, I have not figured out this whole unemployment thing…
Sobering up with some coffee at Octane. I started drinking too early. Γ°ΕΈΛβ
