$110 Bike/Bite Repair
Thankfully the damage I inflicted on one of my molars was not substantial. I visited my dentist yesterday, and one x-ray, five minutes of polishing, and $110 later I was fixed up.
Lesson learned.

I Have A Library Card
After dropping into the office to ensure that my Leave of Absence is still valid, and to confirm that the company is not offering any form of severance, I ate lunch with a couple of coworker/friends.
With time on my hands I stopped in to Costco to renew my membership before visiting the Brookhaven Public Library for the first time. For the first time in twenty years possess a library card; it’s a Dekalb County Public Library card. Because I live in City of Atlanta, Dekalb County I think that I can also get a Fulton County Public Library card, one that will let me access the resources at the East Atlanta Public Library, which though it resides in Dekalb County doesn’t appear on the list of libraries that are a part of the Dekalb County Public Library System.

It’s important to remain hydrated when riding RAGBRAI, and sometimes you need something other than beer. You can buy bottled water from vendors during the week, or if you play your cards right you can fill up for free at the pass through towns.
“Mr. Porkchop” (Randolph, Iowa, United States)
One of the beautiful things about RAGBRAI is the amount of quirky food stands that exist along each day’s route. One of the long-standing vendors is Mr. Porkchop. This hunk of meat costs $8 and is well worth it.
I Need To Remember That I’m Unemployed
This afternoon, hopefully after having a lovely lunch with ITP-Reader Barb, I have to start studying. Today I need to brush up on my German in preparation for tonight’s German class. Starting tomorrow I need to return to writing code in order to improve my skills so that I can impress an employer when I decide to end this hiatus.
I Need To Get Back On The Bike
I had planned to ride the Monday Night Recovery Ride, but it started raining in the area around 5:30pm so I bailed. Turned out that the rain stopped and the ride was held, but by the time I heard this I was already near home.
I was going to beat the rain by riding this morning, but I was so tired that I talked myself out of riding.
I’ve discovered that the convention that I will be attending this week starts at 6:00pm tomorrow night (and runs all day on Wednesday) so tomorrow I ride!

I don’t think you can get the Fulton County library card. I could be wrong, but if that were the case, I should be able to do the opposite (live in city of Atlanta, Fulton County but get a DeKalb County card) and I can’t. But, hey. What do I know?
I forgot to mention this yesterday when you mentioned laundry. Don’t know if any of the ones you go to have it, but the one in my neighborhood put in card readers a few months back. SO nice not to have to deal with feeding in quarters. It’s Midtown Wash at Argonne & 6th, which is also not a bad little walk up to such places as Papi’s or Torched Hop Brewing Company to kill some time during dry cycle. 🙂
Hmm, you may be right. When I return from Vermont I plan to use the EAV library as an office, so I’ll find out for sure then. It’s not a big deal if I cannot get a Fulton County library card since I already have more books than I can read during the remainder of my life…

I forgot to add an update on my “ruined” clothes. I was able to get the gunk out of the shorts by soaking them in Simple Green. I was using another technique with the bike jersey, but the Simple Green worked so well that I am going to soak the jersey in it today.
Lunch – it is looking like the poor old CRV needs to go back to Peach Auto – want to meet over that way somewhere? Damn check engine light, and its running a little rough.
Any time is fine – though earlier is better than later for me today.
Paulie, you can always have my library card if you’d like. I have the key ring one that I always use and a wallet one I never do. I have complete faith you won’t rack up ridiculous late fees on it. 😉
If you DO try Midtown Wash someday, holla. Especially if you haven’t tried Torched Hop yet or in the mood for a Cuban sandwich to die for. I’d always be up for meeting you.

An interesting day yesterday. Debbie was out clearing trails and managed to get the tractor stuck- twice!! The second time she had to call in the cavalry from Bear Creek. They took an even bigger tractor to get her out of the bog she found. When I got home, the tractor was still carrying most of the mud! I told her I was going to teach her how to use the pressure washer if she kept this up.
The mower is back in the hospital!! I had hoped the guy would adjust the carb and send it on its way… ugh.
I’ve heard a rumor of dinner at the Steamhouse with some of our techs who are in town for a class… and this afternoon, an overdue haircut!!
Barb, it sounds like it may be time to say goodbye to the CRV. It has served you well. Didn’t you have that when you were still living in the apartment, before the house in Roswell?

But – it passed emmissions, got a new radiator & catalytic convertor.
And I still have a car payment, and he doesnt want to drive the Tundra all the time.
So – hopefully it is an easy fix.
