The rain popped up and caused me to (gleefully) give up my ride last night. Had the weather been better I would have gone out and most likely enjoyed my ride, but it wasn’t, so I didn’t. Instead I joined the boss for some happy hour libations and appetizers at The Pub Perimeter.
My shame appears due to the fact that I could not convince myself to get out of bed and ride this morning. I would have beaten the heat and any afternoon rain, and gotten some much-needed exercise. But no, I rolled over and went back to sleep instead. Shame, shame, shame on me.

There is none. Shame, shame, shame on me.
Because I Forgot
Theoretically I will be riding the first day of BRAG with ITP-Reader Barb, Allan, and many others. The weather forecast looks pretty grim, but one can always hope.
I was supposed to bring a bag of clean clothes with me to Hartwell last weekend to give to them so that I would have clothes available at the ride’s end on Sunday. I forgot. Shame, shame, shame on me.
Therefore tonight I shall be driving to Marietta with the change-o-clothes that I packed up last night, and thankfully remembered to put into the M6 this morning. In addition to clothes I will be bringing some Heirloom Market BBQ. I’ve yet to eat Heirloom’s food, and I’ll bring dinner for Barb and Allan as a penance for my forgetfulness, payback for the food the brought to me last Saturday, and thanks for toting my clothes to Social Circle, and me back from Social Circle on this coming Sunday.
On A Positive Note
One benefit of not riding last night was that I got home at least a half-hour earlier than I would have otherwise. With this time I managed to sort out the items in my “Needs Action” folder (don’t ask), a task I’ve been putting off for over a month. I’m glad to say that I hadn’t missed any bill payments (though I was a little concerned that I forgot to pay my auto insurance when I saw the bill in the folder), and I also managed to put a lot of things in order. No shame, no shame, no shame on me!
Have a great Thursday, yes it’s Thursday already, friends!
Barb, if you have an requests for food tonight please put it into a comment or shoot me a text message.
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
I don’t think it should be considered penance, I didn’t even think about it either, until we were up there at Hartwell.
BUT – I’m so excited for some Heirloom Market BBQ tonight.
Sal will be joining us after she gets off work at 7pm in Sandy Springs. Allan is installing her new tires, since her rear one is going to get a flat soon its so worn.
No idea about Marty. Sal dropped off the bike last night so Allan could do it this afternoon in his free time. & we hung out & shot the shit for a couple beers.
I’m looking at the website –
I think we for sure need some Spicy Korean pork, probably some brisket (since I know you are a fan of brisket). After that……. its your call. Their Mac & Cheese in the bomb, so get enough of that.
Sounds great! At what time should I arrive?
Any time – I will be home by 5:30, Allan should be home most of the afternoon. Sal said to not wait on her. (she doesn’t eat much anyway…. LOL)
Heirloom Market BBQ sounds delicious, and I don’t even know what it is!
Zelda is on the $hit list at the moment. I got home and Debbie was so proud that Zelda had stay loose in the house while she had been gone most of the day and hadn’t messed anything up. Apparently, when she got home, she left the baby gate to our bedroom open, because in the short time she managed to tear up a roll of TP (no biggie) and one of her brand new shoes (biggie)! When Debbie beats the dog, she knows she’s in trouble. She got me up at 2 this morning to go out, and was out for an hour and a half. At some point she located another deer head and brought that into the house to gnaw on.
That child… Brownie is looking like a genius at the moment.

Ok, “Brownie is looking like a genius at the moment.” had me literally LOLing.
I think the whole idea of a doggie door is a bad idea with Zelda. She’s going to have to learn to be an outside dog.
And – Brownie is a genius. He doesn’t look like one, he is one!
As long as she doesn’t bark, she’s generally behaves outside, but we’re looking into some GPS based control system to keep her close.
And I know my dog is a genius. Sadly, I think he knows it too!
Steve my neighbor has something like this, http://www.petsafe.net/fencing/wireless-fences basically a wi-fi device that when she steps out of covarage she gets a “reminder”. Something like that may be better than some sort of in ground invisible fence.
Reading today’s blog I now have Princess Bride in my head, Shaaame, Shaaame!
There was an invention show on TBS that the guys had a GPS based collar. If that comes on the market, we’d snap it up. The problem with the wireless one is it has a fairly limited coverage and we have a “big” property.
