Happy Birthday, Bro

Today is my brother’s birthday. ITP-Reader “Ronnie”, your card is in the mail. I hope that you have a great day, brother.

I am up in Raleigh now. My travel yesterday could not have gone smoother; the MARTA train arrived at the platform exactly as I did; there was not much of a delay at security; I ate a filling Cuban sandwich at Pappi’s; my plane was not full and left on time; my coworker was at the airport when I arrived; I was given a rental car with a Fulton County license plate.

Being the senior person on this trip I took control of the dinner situation by dragging my coworker, who I have come to find out is a non-drinker, to my favorite watering hole / bar-restaurant – Flying Saucer. He seemed to like the food just fine, and I was pleased with the Reuben sandwich that I consumed with my two beers.

I am now Amazing Race: Season 2 compliant. Even though the hotel’s wifi is less-than-ideal I managed to stream the final 27 minutes that I had remaining after yesterday’s trainer session. Season 2 had its moments but seemed to suffer a bit of a sophomore slump. After seeing the number of height-related challenges in Season 2 it’s a damn good thing that I wasn’t a contestant.

Speaking of exercise, I shall get no more than what standing on my feet for seven hours will provide today. I have packed some exercise clothes, perhaps I will use the hotel’s teeny workout room tomorrow morning.

Time for me to get ready for the career fair. Type at you all tomorrow.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

    Happy birthday to brother Ronnie!

And oh you just SO made my dinner plans for me. Pappi’s is right on the corner of the very street I live and I always forget about it. A Cuban sounds divine.

Enjoy Raleigh and be happy you missed today’s commute. The rains made it a hell of a hot mess, even for me with a 2-mile commute!

    Happy Birthday Ronnie!

A pretty quiet day yesterday. I watched 2 EMC engineers fail to wipe a storage array to get it ready to ship. Couldn’t get the tool to see all the devices. Plan B is on the way.

Home with enough light to do a little land clearing. Cut up a pine I had dropped the other week and struggled to remove an oak stump that did not know my resolve. It does now as it sits high atop the burn pile!

Hopefully a ride tonight followed by a conference call to make the rest of the race assignments for the national calendar in the Southeast. Oh boy.

Barb, maybe we can TC next weekend? I’m off 4 days, so lots of options.

Steve – next weekend we will be in Fort Walton Beach, FL – decided a long weekend at the beach at a firend’s condo sounded like a good idea.
We will be driving right past y’all on 85 on sunday coming back, but no room on the car for tools.

We went for wings, at 60 cents each & aren’t tiny, it is a pretty decent deal. Rocco’s has new owners & they are trying to change it up a little, they had a guy there hosting kareoke. It wasn’t very busy, but a couple bar patrons sang, it was entertaining to say the least.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Yes I’m a year older (actually 67 from my original Birthday) but still in good health and enjoying life as we all should.
So everyone lift your glass and celebrate life, as we know it, with me. Cheers! and thanks again for the birthday wishes.

And Paulie, I got the late message yesterday about your “date”.
