The Rumor Of Tilted Kilt’s Perimeter Location’s Demise Has Been Verified

With an early kickoff for last night’s Eagles v. Falcons game I decided to skip the traffic and watch at least a portion of the game at a bar near work. Since I’d not been there in awhile I decided to go to Tilted Kilt near the office.

As I drove up the completely empty parking lot was my first clue that I would have to enact Plan “B”.

Goner.
Ghost Town.

It appeared from the signage left on the windows that the Perimeter location has merged with the “new” Cumberland location (a location that pre-dated the Perimeter location). I apparently wasn’t the only one who was surprised by the closure since there was a printed sheet directing “Dolfans” where to go. (As a Jets fan I’ll tell them where they can go…)

Surprisingly Taco Mac Wasn’t Packed
Plan “B” was Taco Mac. I was fearful that it would be packed, especially since with the demise of Tilted Kilt.

I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

When I arrived, around 6:40pm the place wasn’t even half-full. Of course as kickoff neared it filled completely.

I watched the first half of the game at Taco Mac before returning home, where I passed out nearly immediately missing the entirety of the second half.

I Snoozed, I Lost
Shame on me.

No German Class Tonight
We are in-between sessions for German classes. I really considered signing up for a two-week intensive review of the A1 series, but I just couldn’t commit to giving up my Monday and Wednesday nights for the next two weeks.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

You didn’t miss much by not watching the 2nd half- the Falcons tried HARD to lose the game, if fact, i think they were lucky to win.

The Tilted Kilt by Cumberland has been so many different restaurants – one being Malone’s back in the 90s, where I played waitress off & on when I first moved to the south.

  2. Funny, I went to that Malone’s back in the 90s when I moved here.

I forgot to mention that the Perimeter Tilted Kilt used to be a Max & Erma’s when the office first moved here.

So last nights adventure in barn building began when Debbie left to start dinner- she had been holding the new post plumb and I had already attached the new header and the rafter on the new header. I was already on the ladder and had finished nailing the bracket… unfortunately, when she left, the post leaned ever so slightly and I didn’t notice, so when I went to toe nail that last end into the header, I nailed nothing but air (and the header). $hit. Now the new rafter is sitting on the bracket fine, but nothing is holding it to the header. I pushed the rafter up and out of the bracket (onto my shoulder) pulled the nails, did some body work on the braket since it was now bent because of pulling the nails, replaced the rafter and renailed. Ugh! But now we have another box to put rafters in. Woot!

Games meeting tonight in your neighborhood, Paulie. The host hotel is being remodled and has no meeting space available. Fortunately, a church south of Pill Hill is allowing us to meet (and bring in our whisky!). Only 3 more meetings until showtime!

Do the Falcons still play football?

Steve – the Falcons are really good for half a game…….

I thought of you as I was in your ‘hood last night! Moonlight started at Grant Park and ended at Glenwood. I had a couple out-of-town hasher friends in from out-of-country (both Germany where they’re deployed, but different locations) so we all just went to the end (after brief stops at Atlanta Brave’s grill on Peachtree and Sister Louisa’s on Edgewood because that makes a whole lotta geographical sense). It was a lot of fun seeing some old friends (can’t remember the last time I saw Sani)…. but 3 man on a Monday night? Hahaha. Not the best decision I’ve ever made right there. 😉 Tonight will be couch TV for sure!

BTW – some of my friends tailgated next to Kevin Rathbun last night – he was catering a tailgate party for Matt Ryan’s parents. They got offered some of the leftovers & got to meet him. Brushes with fame…….. too bad Letterman isn’t around for that skit anymore.

  7. Stacy says:

Barb, I was just going to say: some of my friends too!!!! Hahaha then I realized we were talking about the same friends. 🙂

  8. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    Aren’t y’all just so fancy!

Shit, I missed another Moonlight in the ‘hood?

I saw hashers playing Three Man at the end of a hash in Portland and had to laugh; it’s not like they needed more encouragement to drink. 😉

  9. Stacy says:

Was Porkymon one of them? Because he was certainly an instigator last night! 😉

  10. Barb says:

3 Man, I almost remember playing that 1 night a long time ago…….. I do remember the hangover.

  11. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Porky on was not in that trail. There were a few Larikans (sp) involved.

  12. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    “Porky” = “Porkymon”

    Damn autocorrect!

  13. Steve says:

    What is Three Man?

  14. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

A drinking game using a pair of dice. Based on the number rolled a variety of things can take place.

    Three Man

  15. Steve says:

Damn. That seems like a quick way to get seriously plowed.

  16. Stacy says:

Yeah, it really is. Especially if you’re the “3 man” in the scenario. Luckily the group last night wasn’t playing very hard core, stopped to eat and chat a lot, and when folks were made to consume, little baby sips were allowed.

  17. Barb says:

oh, and I just remembered on OR people hanging in the elevator using the floor buttons pushed instead of dice. No wonder we could never fit on the elevator.
