After eating quantities of delicious pork and sides yesterday for lunch and then seeing that traffic sucked on a gorgeous afternoon (BEWARE: pollen has started to appear!) I decided to go for a walk yesterday. The boss did the same and he and I hoofed it around the Perimeter Mall area for six miles. We were far from the only ones with that plan, though I doubt that they had eaten such a bountiful lunch, because the sidewalks of Sandy Springs / Dunwoody were littered with people.
The Joke Was On Me!
I swear that when I left the house yesterday that I was wearing a black t-shirt, as one as cool as I does. However, when I was sitting in the break room of work I noticed that instead I had put on a navy blue t-shirt instead. And I was wearing a black belt.
Oh the humanity!
Good thing that I am currently too thick to tuck my shirt in, so I was able to conceal the presence of a black belt by keeping my navy blue t-shirt untucked.
And that’s how I managed to survive April Fool’s Day.
Speaking of which, of the increasingly annoying April Fool’s “pranks” I saw on Twitter yesterday the one that kept me chuckling the most was the “Fanny Basket” introduced by Target. If you didn’t see it, it was essentially a shopping basket that you would strap around your waste like a Fanny Pack.
Fooled By Alec Baldwin
Though he played a pivotal role in my favorite movie of all time, Glengarry Glen Ross, I haven’t followed much of Alec Baldwin’s career since. Sure, I also heard about his temper and the recording of him yelling at his daughter that was all the rage on the internet some years ago, but that’s about it.
Last year, after hearing many accolades for it I decided to subscribe to Baldwin’s podcast Here’s The Thing. I’m really liking it I find Baldwin to be an informed and captivating interviewer. And while most of the episodes consist of interviews with celebrities, he occasionally branches out to cover issues as well. Today I’ll officially join the bandwagon of those suggesting that you check it out.
As an added bonus I just saw an article about Baldwin showing up at a college history class dressed as Abraham Lincoln yesterday.
No Trivia Tonight
I know you thinking “Thursday again? Man I wish I could join Paulie, ITP-Reader Stacy, and Aron for some trivia tonight!”. Cool your jets, friend, we’re taking a week off.
The timing of Stacy’s employee hazing training tonight at , that’s right, she’s about to get more than just tip money from the brewery now that she’s working there part-time, couldn’t have been better for me. For I am headed to the Hertz Stage at the Alliance Theatre for their performance of “Edward Foote” tonight. Fancy me!
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
Despite my legs still smarting from Tuesday’s half hour of running, I let Boner drag me along the Beltline for the better part of 45 minutes. I could barely get in or out of the car afterwards. Not quite as bad this morning.
Deboner reported that her office is moving to the Colony Square area. I suggested she look into riding the bus from the wilds of Cobb county and she said she had already look into it.
Beginning to look at our plan for Monday at the Masters- 80% chance of rain- lovely.
I can report no April Fools pranking here.

LOL! Hazing indeed! Hey, there will be beer involved, so we’re halfway back to my fraternity days anyway…. 😉 Thanks. I’m looking forward to it and learning more. I’ll still volunteer sometimes, but actually working there will allow me to do more things, work more events too. Oh and that fun little pay thing doesn’t hurt one bit either!
And next week, we’re back on for trivia!
I’m confused on the black/blue belt/shirt conundrum. What belt *should* you wear with blue? I’m wearing blue with a black belt right now…neither of which match my bright red shoes, of course. You must have more style sense than I, as I don’t see anything wrong with this.
Hahaha, I just realized that I emphasized hazing, I was supposed to strike it out. 🙂
I was told a long time ago that black and blue don’t go together (think how bad black and blue look on skin), hence the “old fashion sense” I have required me to wear a brown belt (and shoes that go with brown).
It’s a metrosexual thing…
And why is it so wrong to wear a black belt with a navy blue shirt?
(do you own a navy blue belt?)
Went & met up with some hashers last night for dinner with 2$ Ho @ Nueva Laredo. My first time there, it was very tasty, but I felt a little on the over priced side. It was fun seeing her, someday we will roadtrip out west & use her house as a rest stop in Kansas City.
I think a lot of the rules have changed where it’s come to fashion. Like, for example? I DO wear white before Memorial Day/after Labor Day….whaaaaaa? For reals. But I also say go with what makes you feel comfortable then. For me, my most comfortable days are sans belts altogether!
Maybe my fashion sense is what keeps me from meeting women?
More than likely it’s my lack of fashion sense, amongst other things…
