We all know one certainty regarding life. What I am trying to deal with now is some uncertainty regarding my future. In the past I’ve only really had to deal with weight issues, but it’s becoming apparent that unless I change my lifestyle I will be dealing with much more from here to the end.
In Brighter News
I think my trip to Raleigh has been a success. I will try to convince the management team to bring at least three of the six people I interviewed yesterday down to Atlanta for the final interview process.
The only downside to yesterday was the windy cold air that kept me from walking from the football stadium to lunch. I ate at Backyard Bistro, which is located next to the hotel in which I stayed during my last trip here, and about a half-mile from the stadium. I fondly remember watching the Patriots lose a Monday Night Football game during that last visit.
I ate dinner with the Raleigh Royalty again last night and left early enough for them to put the kids to bed and for me to do the same back at my hotel.
Speaking Of Uncertainty
Let’s talk TSA. Here in Raleigh one set of passengers were allowed to go through security while keeping the shoes and belts on and their laptops in their bags; meanwhile the other line had to disrobe and remove their laptops.
Where’s the sense in this?
Looking Forward To Second Self
I am fairly certain that I will have a wonderful time responsibility sipping beer at Second Self Brewing with ITP-Reader Stacy tomorrow.
I hope that you have a fabulous weekend too.
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
TSA has the pre-check line, you pay some extra money, or are a frequesnt flier or whatever, so they know you are safe. Pay more money & do Global Entry & its even faster & easier. I don’t fly enough, but if I did, I’d go do the Global Entry process.
If I flew more I would definitely pay to reduce the hassle of TSA. The people who went into the no-disrobe line came from my line, it just mattered which TSA person checked your ID.
Related: on the ground, waiting for a gate to become available.
Oh, yeah – the TSA people do get some discretion to keep the lines moving, we’ve been sent to the pre-check line before. (Allan always wears a fire dept shirt).
I need to figure out something to do Sunday, Allan is working & its supposed to be a really, really nice day. Anyone got anything going on?
Think I may have caught a break, my bag was on the conveyor belt before the rest of the bags from my flight arrived. Delta must have put it on an earlier flight.
Just about to head out for the last day of skiing. Yesterday was great snow, almost all of it groomed, so no powder, but it was still great. The wind was a real bear at times- I’d guess gusts well above 40mph at times. Hopefully not so bad today.
In walking to the lifts yesterday, a red fox trotted across the road right ahead of me. I immediately stopped and thought he could possibly be rabid, but realized he was just a resident. Still odd to see him in such a populated place.
Back home by 6 tomorrow and looking at a house Sunday.
Have a great weekend.

The last time I flew, I fast-tracked into that line. This was coming from Orlando. They swabbed my hand for some reason? Very weird.
Yay for tomorrow! Looking forward to it! (And they BETTER have the fox shirt because it’s the one I want.) The beers look delicious. I will warm up for them by drinking lots of others at my other brewery tonight. Interested in grabbing lunch before? Figured it might be good to have a little something on the tum before beers. 12:30, thinking Fellini’s on Howell Mill. Been craving pizza lately – probably because it’s been eons since I’ve had it.
Just tell me when you want to meet at Fellini’s and I will meet you there.
12:30! And, hey, that goes for any ITP reader who might want to join us too. 🙂
