Did you think of Paul Harvey when you read today’s title? Do you even know who Paul Harvey was? I’m feeling a bit old today.
Yesterday was an interesting day of presentations and panel discussions at [360|iDev min], all of which would probably bore you to tears. I listened intently (to most), writing code for the 9-to-5 during the discussions which The day ended with beer and food at the local Barley’s Taproom where I over imbibed on beer and food, causing me to pass out in my hotel room very early.
They are building a new hi-rise next to the building in which the conference is being held. I guess this guy really had to go to the bathroom.
😉
I failed to mention yesterday that I have once again joined the The Amazing Race bandwagon, catching up on the first two episodes thanks to iTunes downloads that I brought with me on my iPad. Is it too early to state that I don’t care for any of the teams and that I was especially pleased with the elimination of the first team even though I am a breathing heterosexual male?
Today will be Day Two (hence the conjuring of Paul Harvey) of [360|iDev min], which for me will be a little shorter than a full day for me since I will be driving back to Atlanta tonight to resume my German classed, the second in the A 1.2 series. It’s safe to say that I shan’t be drinking any beer before my journey back inside the perimeter.
Please tune in again tomorrow, it’s an extremely special day.
Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga] in [greenville/sc]
we are watching Amazing Race as well, though haven’t seen episode 2 yet. not sure who I want to win, I’ll get back to you on that.
I may have only watch 75% of last night’s episode; I fell asleep during it, but woke up to watch the ending.
STAND BY FOR NEWS!
(just continuing the Paul Harvey reference)
I thin I got a real appreciation of story telling and radio by listening to PH and others on the radio when I was young. I remember a lot of small town radio stations on long road trips. Call in shows with “for sale” stuff, funeral home of the air, and of course, “the rest of the story” by PH.
I loaded the trailer with stuff for the yard sale, whilch will take place Friday and Saturday at a friends house. Later today, I get to see the dentist for a regularly scheduled visit before going to the Games meeting.
Still no word on the potential buyers…
Good day!

Well played Steve. Well played.
I should note that I own (but rarely use) a Dirt Devil vacuum because it was pimped by Paul Harvey in the early 1990s and I needed to buy a vacuum upon moving to Huntsville, AL.
Speaking of potential buyers – TJ & Mary will someday live across the street from us. The deal is sort of done, just a matter of finalizing everything. Then, major remodeling…………
Well, I hope that works out for everyone.
Steve, in the long run, it will be very nice having them across the street. A big plus, all the “extra” bike parts that Allan needs occasionally will be very close…..
Let me know when they pack the basement and I’ll help 😉
And while I know they are both thriving at the moment, there may come a time when they need more attention from you, and that really will be handy.
I don’t think any of your ITP regulars are too young to remember Paul Harvey.
Visited Trader Joe’s for the first time yesterday. They had Brussels sprouts on the stalk. I had no idea how they grew, now I want to grow some.
I was killing time after meeting a friend for lunch. It was nice to ride back with Steve. Hopped on my horse bareback for a little jaunt around the yard – felt like a kid again!
I’ve been surrounded by so many “kids” recently that I never know what references are understood any longer.
Hate to burst your bubble, Debbie, but I have no idea who Paul Harvey is. I have gathered from the comments that he must have been some sort of radio announcer.
Jenka was a sheltered child. Or, never listened to the radio?
Steve – I’ll tell TJ you are willing to help pack.
They are trying to buy this new house with a HELOC on the big house, Mary said that is getting so complicated they might as well just do a traditional mortgage.
Likely I’ll be packing my own first, but he might jump ahead!!
Jenka, I’m calling BS.
HEH. I really don’t know who he is. I was just so busy and popular as a child that I never had the time to listen to the radio. OBVIOUSLY.
