  1. Note to Self: avoid eating QT chicken biscuits in the future. It was horrible, the meat was tasteless and rubbery and the “biscuit” wasn’t good either. The only thing it had going for it was that it has filled my belly until lunch.

  2. A someone explain to me why bar pretzels are so goddamn pricey? Looking at the appetizers at a place in which I might eat lunch, and their appetizer “Tavern Pretzels
Traditional pub style pretzels with House Mustard or Garlic Parmesan sauce served on the side.” costs $9.99. It’s just fucking bread and honey mustard!

  3. Jenka says:

Yes, you are right. My car is green.

I finally went to El Tesoro last night with a former work colleague. It was really good! I got there at 6:00 and the line was only a few people long. We got a drink and chatted for a bit at our table. Twenty minutes later the line was all the way to the sidewalk and it took us 30 minutes to get through! All that said, the tacos were excellent and the patio is amazing. I will be back, but I will get there early and not dawdle about getting in line.

    • Barb says:

So you get a table, but then have to get in line to order? It took me minute to figure out what you were meaning – but now I got it. So many places just have counter ordering. Is it the same line to get a 2nd drink?

      • Jenka says:

Sorry, that was confusing. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. There is a separate drink line which is much shorter, so we got a drink and chatted for a while before getting into the food line. Won’t do that again!

I was sleepy all day yesterday, but then of course was wide awake when it was time to go to bed.

Ended up meeting Allan at Pero’s Pizza (next to West Stride) for dinner about 7:30pm, he’d been busy all day so hadn’t eaten. Their pizza is tasty enough, and is about half way between our house and the fire station.

This evening we will go ride from East Cobb into Roswell & back along the river & around – somewhere 20+ miles – all depends on how early we get started. Got 1 week to get in shape for STU 😉

  6. David says:

Anybody remember the movie The Warriors? I’m subjecting Debbie to it at the Plaza Theater tonight. My inner teenager is absolutely giddy about it.

    Wordle in 4.

Back from the dentist with a clean bill.

Chatting with the manager at Tasty China last night after I picked up my gravel bike (thanks Barb and Allan). we got to why I had traveled so far for the best Chinese in the world and started talking about cycling. Allan has a new sale if he wants to close the deal.

The pollen is so bad, I saw footprints in the carport- my own!

    • Barb says:

What are we selling to the manager of Tasty China?

      • David says:

LOL. And Steve, does Allan know about said sale, and have you negotiated a commision yet? 😉

        • Steve says:

A bicycle! She wanted to start riding and was quizzing me on what to buy. I, of course said she needed to go to a real bike shop. Hence, Allan.

          • Barb says:

He doesn’t really “work” at a bike shop – he just builds bikes for them every week or 2.
But- if we ever talk to her – we will say to go to Atlanta Cycling – Vinings on Cobb Pkwy.

          • Steve says:

That’s what I told her. I pointed in the general direction and did say Vinings.

  8. Barb says:

selling the old Yakima rear hitch rack(s) – oit holds 4 bikes – posting to the Chattahooligans 1st – unless any of you all want it – or know someone that does?

  9. Back from choring, more like talking myself out of buying things, down south.

Oil change at the Mazda dealer in Morrow followed by stops at Tractor Supply (where the fish fertilizer is now $35, I swear I paid $20 two years ago), Ollie’s, Harbor Freight, and Goodwill.

Had I remained south of 285 for lunch I would have treated myself to a nice Mexican, or Asian, meal.

  10. Bob says:

Checked in to work this morning and was told “Hey you have a mental health day today, go away”. So here I am, taking care of my mental health and not working 🙂
Wheels swapped over on my bike taking it from adventure bike to full road bike. Will probably keep that configuration until after BRAG. Cleaned up the garage a bit, I have all the stuff from the camper now stashed in every corner I could find room. Going to go for a ride here soon then Travis has a soccer game tonight.
Hope all is well in ITP land

    • Barb says:

well that’s cool – wish my boss would say that.

I remember well all the camper stuff being stashed here, there & everywhere.
I can’t wait to get it out there for STU – its been forever since we’ve used it.

  11. Well, that sucks. In trying to get a garden hose off of one of my sprinkler stands, I managed to destroy both. The hose, most likely to the CoA’s water, had melded to the stand. When I set it up a couple of years ago I should have treated it more like plumbing and less like temporary gardening equipment. In an effort to remove the hose, I bent the hose end, and destroyed the sprinkled stand end. Fuck.

Also, the four nozzle timer leaks (my bad, though disconnected I left it outside during the brutal winter of 2023 and the water in the plastic body expanded when it froze, making it no longer water-tight) so I will have to purchase another one of these.

This was not the way I expected to spend another $150 on WLF.
