The other day I noticed that the Walgreens downtown has closed. According to what I just read, it closed eleven months ago, so I guess I’m a little late to find out.
Speaking of late— the Southside Beltline. Having been closed since at least when the Walgreens shuttered, if not nearly two years, it doesn’t appear to be reopening anytime soon. according to the Beltline’s website it will “reopen earlier than scheduled in the three months of 2026”. I hope that I live long enough to see it completed, and am physically able to use it by then.
Wordle in 5 and it shouldn’t have been that hard!
Cash went to see the vet yesterday and is showing great improvement. He was out in pasture unsupervised after Debbie brought him home.
50 tough minutes on the trainer last night. There was a climb at the end I had done it recently, so the app put in a “ghost rider” of the previous effort. I clearly did it before when I was fresh, as the MF just rode away from me!
Walgreens downtown on Marietta St?

Good on ya for riding. I walked 5.5 miles yesterday afternoon, and I *may* push myself to get out for a road ride today.
Yes, that’s the one, at the intersection of Peachtree and Marietta/Decatur in the Olympia building, just south of Woodruff Park.
Barb and Sal, if you don’t race through Strands today I will be shocked.
I haven’t done strands in months – maybe I’ll check it out
I remembered why I don’t pay Strands – I do not find joy with it.
But – Survivor starts tonight!
I figured it started soon since I saw a CBS interview with Jeff Probst yesterday.
Yup! An easy Strands for sure!
I had thawed a pound of hamburger meat – trying to decide what to do with it – so – I decided on a Skyline chili copycat recipe. It came out pretty good.
I was thrilled that the long list of spices it needed – I actually had them all. (sure, some could be expired, but I didn’t look at the dates – we have so many spices we’ve bought over the years for a specific recipe that just sit there forever)
I forwarded it over to Steve & Debbie – Debbie didn’t sound excited to make it.
That was our exciting evening. 😉
I just read a bit of it… might try it, but I’m sure we’ll need spices. And NOT chocolate!
i think its funny – other copycats say to use some bakers chocolate -and this one didn’t
Good morning from the Skyclub at the T gates in Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport! My dad is progressing nicely and is getting discharged either tomorrow or Friday. The unit at his assisted living facility that will be helping him with his meals and medication doesn’t work on weekends, so my brother and I will do it this weekend.
What kind of assisted living place doesn’t work on weekends?
He lives in the independent wing because he’s a normal active 76 year old. But if you have a surgery or something there’s a unit that will provide care, for a price. They’re not part of the nursing wing, if you need that level of care you’re supposed to move to the nursing wing. They probably provide care on the weekends if you’re willing to pay for it, but knowing my dad he would not do that.
ahhhh – now that makes sense.
Hope he rehabs quick so he can go back to his normal 76 year old life!
Go dad, go!!
Thanks, Steve! 🙂
(My dad’s name is Steve, too!)
