Yesterday’s brutally cold weather allowed me the excuse to stay indoors. I set up a new grow light that I’ve owned for a couple of years now (long story, mostly related to 2024 travel insanity), and OMG is it so much better than the cheaper grow lights I bought in 2020. Maybe all of my seedlings won’t be leggy this spring…

Wordle in 5 and had to throw something against the wall to see if it would stick. Nice work on the deuce.

A fairly calm day- took Debbie to lunch and she tasked me to find a heated mattress cover for the trailer. 3 stores, no joy. As a rule, we don’t normally shop at Wally World, but it was an easy stop. And now I remember why we don’t shop there- overload!

Sorry the meteorite missed the Benz last night. What little I watched showed OSU dominate.

My Cajun buddy in the swamps of south Louisiana has snow this morning. Fingers crossed.

A tough hour on the trainer last night..

heated mattress pad for the trailer will be a game changer if it doesn’t have a great heating system.

      • Steve says:

Since the bed is over the unheated gooseneck, that was something the online forums said would work well.

        • Barb says:

OMG – yes – definitely a great idea.
Dana & Jeff have a toy hauler so its all metal, (so their bed goes where the car goes. They said it has made the hugest difference for sleeping. That -and lots of rugs for the floor.

    • I did sixty minutes yesterday afternoon, and will repeat tomorrow and/or today.

      • Steve says:

Good for you. I want to get my moneys’ worth out of Zwift, as that is now almost $20 a month.

        • Oof, I couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for Zwift. Hope you continue to be motivated by it. Soon I hope to motivate myself to ride outdoors again, of course it’s going to have to get warmer than this in order for me to do so.

And Barb made it to connections! I have a question about one of the answers…

  3. Sally says:

Wordle in 2. Thanks for the starting word. Perfect Connections: b, p, y, g
It’s just another cold gray day. At least yesterday was sunny.

  4. Barb says:

    yesterday was a busy day.
Work was busy – how we got so busy in January is weird, but the boss is happy.

Dentist appointment was great (sarcasm font needed) – they say I need to replace a really old crown, and there’s another tooth that could use a crown. Oh joy! But – it does look by the guestimate that insurance covers more than 50% of it. We will see, I’m so skeptical of dental insurance. So, that’s a project for March.

We are leaving for FL Friday mid/late afternoon, hopefully the weather will be good, Its a roadtrip, St Pete, Punta Gorda, Key West (via Ft Myers Key West Express) then Fort Myers, Vero Beach. Not sure if we will stop anywhere on the way home from Vero, might stop at Margaritaville Daytona Beach to see a friend’s new place, maybe somewhere else. We will see……….

    • A buddy of mine had hip surgery yesterday. I have an opportunity to take a trip, leaving Saturday, with the guys to Florida and hang out with him. I’m keeping myself very busy these days, so I don’t think that I want to travel.

    • Sally says:

I will probably come by after work on Thursday to pick up my annual trunk load of wood for Mt. Mist.

  5. Just watched a hawk sit on the railing of my deck, looking for lunch. It swooped thought WLF, but didn’t appear to find anything to eat. Love it.

  6. Apple stock still on the decline. Guess I should start revisiting my Plan B.

  7. Jenka says:

Emory is remote today so I forgot to check the blog! I had a very quiet weekend. Paulie- we were at Moe’s & Joe’s on Sunday, you should’ve stopped in! That is the only place I went all three days of the weekend, though. Otherwise just read and watched football.

On Saturday Kevin lost his wallet somewhere in Inman Park and yesterday the good samaritan who picked it up texted him and Kevin was able to pick it up. There are still good people in this world! (Just not any of you assholes, HAH.) What a relief not to have to replace everything.

    • Barb says:

how did they have his phone# to text him? (or – does he have business cards or something with that #?)
I don’t think I have anything in my wallet with my phone#

    • Steve says:

Wow.. very nice. That is SUCH a PITA to cancel and replace all your cards.

  8. Steve says:

.. and it just started to snow a bit here.

The executives of the Fed just announced they will be looking at Trump’s executive order about federal employees returning to the office full time (we ain’t federal, but we follow those guidelines generally). If they want to speed my retirement, this is an easy way to do it.

  9. More snow here than I expected today. It’s back to looking serene out there.
