    I have also discovered my scant REI dividend ($13) will expire soon if I don’t use it. Huh, who knew?

      Yeah, your REI Dividend expires…..
      (REI member since…..1972.)

      BTW: I’m still “upset” with REI for their (misplaced) “Closed on Black Friday, Get Outside…” notion.

      Of course, this has been going on for years. Online sales have significantly overtaken in-store retail sales. But REI is a retail store. Stop editorializing and open up for customers.

        REI is so pricy, (IMHO) I rarely go into that store.
        But – if they want to be closed, more power to them – if they lose a sale & don’t care – that’s their decision.
        If someone REALLY needs to shop on Black Friday – they will go elsewhere.

          REI is pricy, but oftentimes has something (camping gear) that is not sold elsewhere (in person?). Since I own more than enough camping gear (as well as everything else), I don’t shop there often.

          Yeah…
          Shopping for their “Black Friday” deals, in-store, to give as presents, was part of my holiday shopping routine.

          Old habits die hard.

            I guess I have never (I think never) shopped on Black Friday. At least not on purpose for Black Friday deals. But – we aren’t big “presents” people, so that is probably why.

    Wordle in 6!!

    I was left on my own as Debbie had a “Ladies Christmas Dinner” to attend. We had bought a little dinner for one from Publix- sesame salmon with some sort of noodle and the instructions included the air fryer. While the salmon came out fine, the noodles were sort of crunchy and overcooked. Would not recommend.

    We pulled the trigger on Star Link the other day. Fed Ex reports it has shipped. While I HATE giving Elon any more money, this is our best option. Now to find a clear spot to mount it.

    A solid half hour on the trainer last night. No word yet on the Mazda. Hmmm. And still can consistently post from the office PC

      Good on ya.

      My fat body has not seen exercise in weeks! It also doesn’t help that whatever is going on with my body also makes it ache, or pull muscles, for no apparent reason.

        I went for a short walk yesterday – testing out my new Shokz earbuds – I really like the ones (Open Fit) that just hang on your ears. They really don’t move, and are not in your ears (as I never feel like any earbuds fit correctly)
        It was really nice at lunch time, so I went out with not as many layers, and the sun was going down, so I made the loop shorter than I planned.

            Allan LOVES his, but he has the ones that go around your head. I have the Mini too, but I wanted to try these to see if I’d like them more.

            I don’t need anything going around my head. These look perfect, and look like they’ll solve the problem of the goddamned AirPods falling out of my ears. Amazon is delivering some to me today. My packages go to a warehouse where a company called Fetch then relays them to my apartment door, so I might not have the headphones in hand until tomorrow. I’ll report back next week.

            well – then you can give the air Pods to one of the kids to lose. I haven’t gotten air Pods, as I know I will lose them. These are a little bigger, so maybe, just maybe I won’t lose them.

          I have the over ear pnes for my phone at work and love them.

          My GP is requesting a 30 day cardiac monitor. Finally.

            I saw the goofiest Kaiser ad today that said something like “Cardiac care your way, via Zoom, Email” and something else. I was like, WTF, I’ll take my cardiac care in person if I need it, please? Sheesh.

          I like my air pods, but I agree that they just don’t fit right. I think my ear hole is too small.

    in case you missed it yesterday afternoon – (and now he’s hurt I didn’t recognize him 😉 )

    HAM W CAM SIGHTING – at Micro Center – over by my house.
    He recognized me – I would have never know it was him.
    I don’t like that store – too nerdy for me, I don’t know where to look, and have to have someone help me for the easiest of things. (I needed a new cord for my AppleCarPlay in my car, the cord I have is acting up.)

    Happy Friday the 13th all. May you have a wonderful weekend. Health allowing, I will be planting trees tomorrow. My body is in such worse condition than it was the last time I did so in November 2021 2019.

    My bestie Sarah and I parked on the street at the same time at Kitty Dare only to walk up to the restaurant and find it was closed for a private event! Wer wer. So we pivoted to Rathbun’s instead. I only ever get an appetizer as my meal there so I am not a high roller. But Sarah got a big steak. It’s the holidays, right?! LOL.

    We have no kid this weekend. Meeting some friends tonight at Wrecking Bar I haven’t seen since 2019. We have a regular text thread but one of them lives in Alpharetta and the other lives, like, the other side of Tucker, so it’s been hard. Then tomorrow I have a birthday party. I am going to hide inside my house on Sunday, yikes.
