Wordle in 4. My opening word wasn’t nearly as good as yours.

A busy day at work yesterday, but people were still scheduling me for meetings, even though I’m on PTO today I am off tomorrow. I met with HR to discuss retirement and him in a lot better shape than I actually thought I was. The current plan is to take the month of June off as PTO to burn all that and then officially be retired on 30 June.

Started watching “A Man on the Inside” last night. I’m trying to give it as much chance as I can but it’s a little annoying and that might be the character in the lead.

30 minutes of virtual group ride last night.

WHOA. I didn’t realize your retirement was that imminent! Good for you!

      • Steve says:

Yeah.. counting down. We have to find and get my replacement up to speed. My partner will retire in ‘26, so there’s that much crossover, but I do some things that Sam doesn’t.

wordle – had to resort to the google

nothing exciting over here – besides joining the free Wellness Center at the senior Center, and going to a little place across the street for a hotdog for lunch.

Our nanny is moving to Virginia after the first of the year so we had a new nanny come over last night and spend time with Finn while we went to dinner at Wisteria. She worked out well, and we had a lovely dinner. Wisteria has a new burger special and it is real goooood. Not as good as the General Muir, but then nothing is. When we got home I made the shepherd’s pie with the rest of the turkey. Didn’t try it, but that will be for us to eat all weekend at the cabin.

Wordle in 4. I’m awaiting a flight back from Las Vegas. I started the trip with 2 nights in a yurt in Death Valley. I put the Jeep I rented through its paces, but not anything too edgy. I didn’t make a single bet, just not my thing. I had a fancy dinner Monday night at the 64th floor of a hotel as part of the conference for which I was a small-fry sponsor. The happy hour event that I hosted went very well. A little Vegas goes a long way with me so it will be good to be back.

    • Barb says:

Can’t wait to hear more about the trip.
I will throw away $20 here & there in Vegas in a stupid slot machine – just to see if someday one doesn’t act like a broken coke machine for me. (hasn’t happened yet)
I used to enjoy gambling, (blackjack & roulette, and every once in a great while I tried craps) when I was young & foolish with my money.

    • Steve says:

It took me less than 15 minutes to spend my gambling money when I was there in June. I might have won a couple hands. It was a quick death.

  5. Barb says:

oh wait – I do have something from yesterday.
the BRAG Croatia trip for next July got pushed to September 2026.

    • David says:

That 2026 timeline could possibly work for me.

I can’t remember if I’ve said this here before, but Willy Nelson said “divorce is expensive, because it’s worth it.” A-fucking-men to that.
