“Is there anybody out there?” Wordle in 3 today, after a pretty long string of 5s and 6s. I had one damn letter for 4 tries yesterday, had to use a total Hail Mary on 5 to avert sudden death, which would have broken a 35 day streak, the longest I’ve had in I don’t know when. It’s clearly an indicator that I’m getting my life back under control.

Wordle in 5 and that took way too long.

Glad I wasn’t trying to work outside yesterday. 2.5 inches in the gauge. I pushed the dogs out the door a couple times.. they were not happy.

On the trainer for 40 minutes last night. Good thing, as the cardiologist can’t see me until April.

Traffic was so horrible yesterday, every car was on the road and I had to wait 2-3 cycles for every. single. light. Today it was completely clear. Not only were there no cars out, but every light was green when I got to it. I made it from my driveway, to doggie daycare next to Paris on Ponce, to the parking garage at work in 23 minutes. WTF, O?!

One of the things that I love most about my apartment is only needing to use my car when I traverse to the hinterlands (Marietta) to see Debbie. My apartment faces an interior courtyard, and several apartments have cats that sit in windows or on porches. There’s no road to look at. It’s magnificent. I guess that January and February will test my mettle with regard to only going to Publix on foot.

      • Jenka says:

It’s not so much your apartment as your lack of responsibilities. If you DID have a dog, you would have to take the dog to daycare or the vet. You also work from home. If I worked from home and didn’t have a dog, I would never use my car for anything.

        • David says:

Heh, back when I had dogs, I had a literal in-house vet. 😉 Seriously, though, agreed on the lack of responsiblities. That’s absolutely purposeful on my part, and the culmination of a more than decade-long quest. Hey, at least you have free and high quality healthcare. It all comes down to choices in life.

Yes indeed! I just need to get through on-boarding the new dean, and then I’m searching for a job at Emory that is remote, or at least remote some days per week.

I agree- traffic was crazy yesterday – I went to Target in East Cobb (and of course they didn’t what I want – but of course Amazon does). It took way too long.

just back from my yearly physical – nice chat with the doc, but not much else -didn’t even check my knee reflexes. I guess since BP & temp is fine, we don’t do much else?
Its a Wellstar facility – so the blood work part is right there. I guess we will see what they think after those results. They also gave me a flu shot.
Mammagram also scheduled – first available isn’t until mid to end of January?
    I “love” healthcare.
But -at least I didn’t have a co-pay for this appointment.

Last night we went to a glass bowl/plate making workshop that I saw on a Cobb County email. It was really close to the house, and it was very interesting. BUT – I do have to say, I have ZERO artistic talent. There were 8 of us in our “class” and my plate was the most boring one. In a few weeks we will get the call that they are done – I can’t wait to see the finished product.
