    Wordle in 5.

I was going to go run after my workday, but it was actually raining- OK, a think mist, but still.

We started watching “The Old Man” on Hulu last night. Holy crap! It’s really good. John Lithgow (who I think is really good) and Jeff Bridges also doing a great job. A spy chase thriller… right up our dark alley!

I hope the hash went well, Barb.

We’ve got The Old Man recorded – we were waiting for all 8 episodes to be available. First season was really good – we will start it soon. Need to finish The Lincoln Lawyer 1st.

    Election day, 2024.
You kids be careful for what you wish.

I wish for the ridiculous commercials to be over.
How can that be a bad thing????

      • HamWithCam says:

“US Television and Radio revenues dropped significantly in November 2024. CNN and MSNBC both file for bankruptcy. More news after…..these messages.”

I try to not watch anything live, but it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve been watching Netflix with no ads – and things recorded on a DVR. But – I still see/hear way too many.

  3. Barb says:

Hash was a bigger crowd that we ever expected – we had about 20 people.
We gave the bar the heads up that we’d have a group (they only have 2 people working the place these days) – and it went pretty smooth, I don’t think anyone had to wait too long for beer or their dinner.

Trail was 3 miles – everyone seemed to enjoy it, and for the 1st one in the dark I guess we did ok with the flour.
Since they are selling all the memorabilia on the walls – a few people wandered around looking for things to buy. Sani bought a picture of Grand Central Station.

  4. Jenka says:

As Steve said, it rained for about 5 minutes last night — just long enough for me to drive home from doggie daycare in the dark and realize that my windshield wipers are shit. They basically smeared the water around and with the streetlights and other headlights it was not a fun situation. Luckily it only lasted 5 minutes and then it was like it never rained!

My unit at Emory doesn’t hold classes on election day, and staff have the option to work remotely if their job allows it, so it should be a ghost town around here today. Of course, the dean is coming in, and if the dean is in, I’m in.

  5. Jenka says:

I have always wondered this: if something is called “daylight SAVING time,” wouldn’t it be during the winter when there is less daylight? Why do they call it daylight saving time in the summer when it’s daylight 20 hours a day? It makes no sense.

  6. Barb says:

CONNECTIONS – I was all screwed up with blue & purple. FAIL

Wordle – had to use the google – and I would not have come up with that word on my own.

  7. Steve says:

I’m incredibly sad that that POS has won again. I weep for our country.

  8. HamWithCam says:

    Wow!
    Truth is stranger than fiction!

No doubt Trump’s clear win will 1) absolutely enrage the far Left. Especially the mindless rank and file. To unheard-of unhinged levels.

Or 2) Dems and Liberals will accept the clear defeat “with grace and humility“, “no shame, we gave it 200% but we lost the good fight”.

    Queue Obama, (even Biden).
(“You are still going to invite us to the Inaugural Galas, right? Right?!“)

(That is until Dems, with a fully cooperative Media, have time to fake “the facts” and come at Trump again in full force fueled by a deep hatred.)

The Interesting thing will be, does Trump now “get his revenge”? Or realize ultimately the best revenge is Trump is President (again, literally against all odds). And create a real legacy and quite literally “Make America Great Again”. (Queue Elon Musk, etc.)

Trump now has the single most powerful thing in politics, a clear mandate.

    It’s going to be…..interesting!!

As for the rest of the World, with a few exceptions, they’ll do little to rock the boat, as long as the US “keeps the monthly checks ($$$$$$) coming”.

So now, everybody take a minute and …breath.

Little of this will affect any of us.
Life will go on. Just as before.

Now, what to do with all of our “Harris/Walz” yard signs?

    • Steve says:

I hope you’re right, but I take him at his word. I know there will be some who try and restrain him, but he seems resolute.

I really think people see what they are getting, but are just so far into his con, they don’t want to admit they’ve been conned

      • HamWithCam says:

Words and actions are frequently forgotten in politics.
This is true of both parties. Almost without exception.

Influence, power and $$$ make for strange bedfellows.
