    1st!

Good weekend at Indian Springs – PERFECT weather for camping – new bike worked well.
Bought a new yearly State park pass, with the 2 nights free camping applied (I had paid for that months ago) it was only $8 more. So 2 visits for day hikes or whatever in the next year (which won’t be a problem) I’ll get my money’s worth.

Wheelhopper was just 10 of us, Rock Hudson decided he wanted to run the circle. (that was different)
“We” forgot firewood – but Bob brought plenty – so we were all set.

OK, that’s hilarious that you and Allan forgot firewood! 😉 This weekend was a massive sprint to get my apartment set up, which included three trips to Ikea, with a fourth one on the horizon. I am typing this on my spiffy new adjustable desk. The kitchen remains a giant mess, because I pretty much moved 100% of it instead of 80%. I’m making progress on identifying the excess.

It is very satisifying to just throw shit down the trash and recycling chutes and be done. I’m so over homeownership that I didn’t look at renting a house because I don’t even want to roll the trash down to the curb.

The apartment has network jacks in the rooms that don’t seem to be terminated at the panel where the fiber comes in. I wonder if there’s an IT guy that I could ply with beer to take a look at for me.

When we did our minor kitchen reno earlier this year one of the perks was having an opportunity to get rid of some kitchen shit. It was glorious. The kitchen is one area where I tend to collect things.

        • Barb says:

we got rid of so much when we did the kitchen – but we still have way too much. (but – there is plenty of room to hide shit, so I don’t really notice)

David- I barely know what a network jack is – I can not help you. 😉

And – yes – we were laughing about forgetting the firewood – as I was working Friday morning, and I didn’t think to remind Allan about it.
When I remind him, he’s always like – OF COURSE I remembered. But when I don’t – I get – WHY didn’t you remind me? I can’t win, the joys of marriage. 😉

          • Jenka says:

Oh Em Gee, SAME. If I remind him, I get the sarcastic “what do you think” and if I don’t, he’s all, “you were supposed to remind me!” LOL.

Wordle in 3 starting with BLIND. Perfect connections: b, y, g, p. Same as Paulie! 🙂
Had to use a hint to get started on Strands.

Beautiful week-end for sure. GUTS races at Fort Mountain State Park. I too, renewed my annual park pass. I just get the regular park pass and not the friends of.

Pretty quiet weekend, which was great. Friday we went to Six Feet for dinner. I had gotten both flu and Covid shots that day so I was up all night with flu-like symptoms. But they ended in the morning and I was fine on Saturday. We went to the Albert for lunch and then home to watch all the college football. Sunday I watched the Patriots lose to the Texans but our new rookie quarterback Drake Maye threw THREE touchdown passes! WOO HOOO!

While I was watching football yesterday I made a fish chowder with halibut, peas, and potatoes, and I also made a roasted chicken with orzo and lemon.

    • Barb says:

weren’t you productive while watching football!

We got home, cleaned up everything, started laundry & then watched football & did nothing while doing that.

      • Jenka says:

Yeah, but you were camping all weekend. I did nothing on Saturday- we ordered greasy Chinese for dinner.

  4. Barb says:

wow – matched Sal & Paulie on Connections – Blue – Yellow – Green – Purple.
I was just guessing – I wasn’t sure after the Blue category.

    Wordle – in 4

I always use hints on Strands – when I do it – that games is only when I’m really bored.

    • Sally says:

Not sure that’s a good thing that you matched Paulie and me. Too bad your bike is too big for me, unless can make it a small. lol

  5. Barb says:

oh yeah- Steve, David, Paulie, anyone else – I have a mtn bike for sale.

    • David says:

Heh, I don’t touch mountain bikes with 10′ poles. 😉 I did sell an old cruisier bike on Facebook Marketplace last year, so I’d start with that.

      • Barb says:

David – I was joking putting your name down, because I know you aren’t interested after your 1 & only ride.
This is a little more expensive of a bike, so I’m going to start with people I know. Then- eventually – I’ll move on to regular ways of selling. (Need to figure out a fair price too)

  6. Steve says:

Wordle in 4. I had a genuine ace of Saturday as STAIN is a regular starting word.

Smaller crews over the weekend, but we seem to be on schedule. No body has died and I dont want to kill many.

Its getting colder as the day goes on

What a fun weekend! Weather was perfect and the trail was awesome. Lots of fun was had by all.

Camper is all cleaned up and ready to sell. It is time for something new so time to thin the herd a bit. I’m selling a camper, motorcycle, onewheel, and chainsaw if anybody knows somebody looking for any of these items 🙂
