Wordle: five, my starter was WEIRD
Connections: one mistake, Green > X > Yellow > Purple > Blue

Sgt. Paulie’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

It was twenty years ago today
That I thought I had something to say

Blogs were going in and out of style
But I decided to write for a while

So let me introduce to you
The one and only ITP blog…

Today is the Twentieth Anniversary of my first Inside The Perimeter blog post!

This space has seen the rise, and fall, of some of these websites:
– GeoSpaces
– Blogger
– MySpace
– LiveJournal
– MetroBlogs
– Facebook (dead to me)
– Twitter (dead to me)

I think it’s time for me to put things on hold. In order to foster communication I may post an empty blog post, or my Wordle/Connections results, so that there can be daily commenting.

Thanks to all of you. From now you will have to contact me directly through messaging or email.

2025 will be a huge year in my life, perhaps all won’t be great, but (costly?) changes are inevitable.

As an homage to my past, I will close with my former salutation.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

    Wordle in 5.

I knew we were close to 20. Many things come and go but the blog has been an essential part of my life and I thank you for creating it and being my friend. And perhaps you’re right and can move along without the burden of a daily missive. We shall see. I will check this page out of habit if nothing else.

A run/walk last night after walking the pasture with Debbie in search of the lost mower blade. We could see she was mowing a blade short, but because her technique is a little hard to follow, we could not find the spot where the blade ejected. Guess we’ll have to mow it again- that’s the way to find it.

Another late day here trying to swap out a firewall, then last Games meeting, then home.

I know how to contact you. Good luck on your new adventures and endeavors. Safe travels.

Wordle in 5. Connections: G, P, B, Y. I used one hint to get me started on Strands. I have been playing the daily Tiles lately. Mindless game.

I am hoping everyone stays safe in Florida and that Bob’s family comes to their senses. Milton looks nasty.

I ran with the Smyrna run group last night after dropping my niece off at the airport. Asics was there with shoes to demo and also provided lots of pizza!

Going to be a nice cool GUTS run tonight. Get out and enjoy this nice fall weather.

    NICE SONG LYRICS

Didn’t do much yesterday – work was busy – but Lindsay is back, so can go back to my not so busy work day.
I need to go to Jackson to pickup some laundry detergent at 12:45 today – testing it for 6 weeks for $150. I can’t do most of the survey stuff anymore, but just to go pick something up for home use – I can do.

Weather is looking great for camping this weekend – everyone needs to bring some firewood – its finally campfire season!

  4. Jenka says:

Of course you should let the blog rest. I certainly understand the fatigue of having to write something every day, my own blog went by the wayside several years ago. I do enjoy checking in here every day so I will miss it, but that is just my own selfishness. 🙂 I am not a reacher-outer so we probably won’t connect unless someone else wrangles us. I’m just not wired that way. I used to feel guilty about it but it’s not like I can help it. I do check Instagram once in a while.

    Have a great roadtrip Paulie!

  5. Bob says:

Dang, hard to believe it has been 20 years, you definitely deserve a break. Safe travels on your mothers last journey.

My family is staying in Orlando and riding out the storm, I invited them all up here but they want to stay put. Hoping for the best. At least my nephew who is in Tampa has boarded up his house and is going to stay with my brother. This storm looks nasty.

Looking forward to camping this weekend, will definitely bring firewood. It will be interesting without a fridge in the camper but I’m sure we will figure it out.

    • Barb says:

Allan & I were talking about the fridge problem – there has to be a cheaper way.
Back to old school camping with a cooler for all the food.

      • Bob says:

Yeah it really sucks, cheapest I find a replacement for is about $1200. I can get down to about $500 if I go full electric meaning no boondocking without running a generator the whole time.
Still undecided on which way we want to go.

  6. HamWithCam says:

Good luck es 73 de JG/HamWithCam..

  7. Barb says:

WAIT – how will I get my Wordle start word? Don’t make me think of one on my own.

  8. Barb says:

yellow- green – purple – blue.
I would never have gotten blue.

Wordle in 4 – as Steve says – could have been 3. I had 2 words I was trying to choose between, guessed the wrong one.

  9. David says:

I can attest to the burnout that happens over a span of 20 years. I wrote articles on Excel for that long, and burned out hard on it at the end. As they say, one door closes, and another opens, I moved into writing books. And the articles were definitely the stepping stone toward that long-term goal.

Here’s hoping that you keep a loose latch on the blog, or designate a sherpa to keep it going.

I’ll become the newest resident of Reynoldstown tomorrow. Mediation with my hopefully soon to be ex is slated for November 11, so I am edging out of my old life and more fully into my new one.

I do want to thank you Paulie, for maintaining this space, and giving me an outlet to start finding myself. It really did help, and I am truly grateful.

To quote Tommy James and the Shondells, I wish you “peace and good, brotherhood”.

  10. Jenka says:

Paulie, did you see that the Jets fired their head coach? Ya gotta laugh or you’ll cry. LOL.

  11. Barb says:

    Question –
my mom is the primary card holder on their Discover card.
If we call to take her off the account – will it just go to my Dad’s name?
We don’t want to cancel the card.
I know I can google – just thought maybe someone here already knew my answer.

  12. Hi friends.
I’ve made it to today’s destination, Wytheville (apparently pronounced WITH-ville), Virginia. Why? Why not? I’ve logged about seven hours behind the wheel, which is enough for today.

Tomorrow I head in the wrong direction, to Morgantown, West Virginia, where I will hole up for two nights. The two nights will accommodate what can be considered a Bucket List item for me, a 3pm tour of Fallingwater (the house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright) in Pennsylvania on Thursday!

  13. Barb says:

Allan is done reccying the Wheelhopper – and didn’t really think about all the people driving north from Florida.
Only 1 tree down that people will have to walk around – pretty good considering Helene had some good winds.
The drive home is a back road way to avoid I-75 down south of Atlanta.

  14. Debbie says:

Wow, 20 years is quite an accomplishment! This space has fostered friendships and connection. I’ve enjoyed following along. Thank you!

    Safe travels on your trip.

  15. HamWithCam says:

    …last! 🙂
Good luck Paulie es 73 De JG/KE4ENI..
