The last couple of days I have been raking leaves. It seems too early in the season to be doing this task.
Amazon has announced Amazon Prime Days for October 8, and 9. Once again I will be away from home when they are having their sale. Once again this might be fortunate for my desires to spend less money and reduce the amount of things I own.
I’ve broken my iPhone case. Clearly it was time for me to order a new iPhone– so I did. 🙂 However, it was not without drama as I failed to realize that the default delivery was my home address, in the first week of October. I wanted to pick it up in store on Saturday. Even after “talking” with a chatbot which assured me that I could update the order once I followed the link it would send to me, I couldn’t figure out how to accomplish this, so I cancelled the first purchase and then ordered the same thing a second time. Now to wait to see if I get double charged for the sales tax. It’s never easy for me because I sometimes fail to pay attention to details in a timely fashion. I blame no one but myself, and boy do I blame myself…
I am glad that I went riding last night, even though my average speed was slower than normal, I struggled mightily on the last half, and my legs are sore this morning. Two out of three of those are good for me.
I might have hit a breaking point with Duolingo. Okay, not really. However I am struggling mightily with German’s placement of verbs in their sentences. In general verbs appear in the “second” position, but sometimes there are words which kick the verb to the end of the sentence, and sometimes there are words which look as if they start a dependent clause, but don’t.
Wordle: four, my starter was GLARE
Connections: perfect, Yellow > Green > Blue > Purple
Wordle in 6. I couldn’t think of another word, so Wordle in 7 wasn’t an option!!
A fairly quiet day in the office, but busy doing odd things. Always good to do different things.
Games meeting was fairly boring and too long, as the Pres likes to ramble a bit.
Final race at the velodrome will be next Wednesday and I was asked to be chief. Come on down!!

It was a beautiful evening for the GUTS run. I even put on a jacket as we sat around the parking lot drinking beer and telling stories. I am glad you went for a ride. Make it a habit. Once it’s a habit…it will no longer be a struggle. What I-phone did you get?
Wordle fail. I had the last 3 letters. Do you know how many words end with those last 3 letters? At least 5!! Almost a Connections Fail: X, X, G, Y, X, B, P.
Yoga this morning and then work. I still have Rocco. Need to take him for a rock shortly.
Hope Travis is feeling okay today.
A walk… not a rock! Lol
Haha
Unfortunately darkness is tearing its ugly head, so I will shift my riding to solo efforts. I don’t like not being able to see where I am riding, and headlamps aren’t bright enough for me. Maybe I’ll join the gang for some beer drinking. 😉
I’ve ordered an iPhone 16 Pro, 256GB. With AppleCare and an $80 trade in for my iPhone XS it comes out to be $50/month for the next 24 months. I’ve not spent any of the AppleCash I’ve accumulated, so that account has $1100, which almost covers the cost.
Barb, how goes things in Iowa?
Same ole stuff here.
Connie & fam land about 2pm.
Allan is being a cleaning machine, vacuuming & mopping the kitchen floor (while I sit with Dad)
Bob, how’s Travis today?
Travis is doing good, the bar hit his lower teeth and knocked them loose a little. Went to the dentist and they said the teeth moved a level 2 out of 10 and should move back to where they were as they heal. Thankfully no broken teeth or roots. We will give it some time and reach out to the orthodontist to verify this. Hopefully won’t need to do another round of braces. He had a nice fat lip too so we had soup for dinner.
Did some clubhouse repairs last night so bike ride didn’t happen. At least now people will stop emailing me and bitching about broken shit at the clubhouse 🙂
Good news about Travis.
“people will stop emailing me and bitching about broken shit at the clubhouse” for now… 🙂
The first people to complain are at the top of the list for new board positions.
Glad Travis is no worse. Ummmm.. soup!!
Oh, that is great news about Travis!
Kevin is the king of ordering things without thinking about the details. The other day we were getting tickets to a comedian at the Fox, and he went to Stubhub and bought tickets for a ridiculous amount of money and not a great location. Meanwhile there were still tons of seats on the Fox website with club access for 2/3 of the price that he paid. We re-listed his Stubhub seats.
We went to Jinya, the ramen place in Poncey Highland next to Fishmonger and had their spicy umami miso ramen. Oh Em Gee it is so good!
