I hate being in limbo, which is exactly where I sit regarding the M6 today. When I got in to drive to Betsy’s last night it didn’t start at first, but then I got it to start. I drove around a little while and returned home. Betsy picked me up, and brought me home. This morning it cranked slowly and started. I’ve just returned from about an hour’s drive. I don’t know whether to call AAA and buy a battery, see if it will start again and drive down to the dealership in Morrow and let them tell me if I need a battery, alternator, or both, or see if I can drive it to an AutoZone and get the battery checked (or buy a new one) there. The more hem and haw, and wait, the less likely it seems as if I am headed out of town again tomorrow. Unfortunately this means that I will be pissing away two nights for a hotel room for which I have already paid.

And I have a splitting headache.

Things could be much worse, I realize that.

    I had a WORDle fail!! Connections: b, y, p, g. Strands was easy enough.

My guess is your battery is running low. Get a new battery put in and head out of town. Buy a battery at AutoZone or any auto parts place and put replace it yourself. :).

I am about fed up with AT@T and their customer service. I only need internet. Any companies y’all like?

Hoping for some rain today. I can do without the winds.

Wordle in 4 and all but the first letter in 3.

Go to the local auto parts of your choice- I’m partial to O’Reiley as they helped me out in just such a situation at closing on a Saturday night during the Games!!! Talk about stress. They will swap the battery out. They could also load test the system, but if your battery isn’t new, the 2 weeks might have been too much for it.

A run/walk last night in the sprinkling rain- was actually quite pleasant.

Barb, while I looked at the Croatia trip, that’s too rich for our blood. We have horses.

The dentist called and has a cancellation!! Yippee!!

Go to the Auto Zone/Pep Boys/O’Reiley one of those dohickey places. They’ll at least diagnose for free so you don’t make a long trip for nothing if you don’t have to.

In unrelated news, today I learned there’s an Inside the Perimeter.ca and it’s all about SCIENCE! (gotta scream that in your head like Thomas Dolby) I wonder how many people find you when trying to go there? Also it’s too bad they haven’t tried to buy your domain. A friend of mine had “PAR3 . com” as a blog waaaay back in the infancy days of the interwebs because his name is Perry Allen Reed III and a Par3 golf course actually bought the domain from him. It was enough to pay for his wedding! I’m pretty sure that doesn’t happen anymore, but how cool would that be?

  4. Bob says:

Don’t cancel your plans, go to Auto Zone and have them test the battery. If it is bad they will install a new one for you, installation is free. Your battery has a finite life, it is a replaceable part like tires and brake pads. I highly doubt your alternator is bad.

Good times bowling last night, rolled a couple 180 games. Pretty happy with that and we took all 4 points.

Now it is time to stress about camping in the rain this weekend and laying a wheelhopper trail.

I hope you figured out by all the previous responses (hell, even Stacy is making a guest appearance) – just go get a battery & all will be fine (most likely)

Well- mom finally stopped breathing sometime between 11pm & 0230am. Tom called Hospice, they came, they called Cedar Memorial, they came & got her, and by a little after 0400am, we tried to go back to sleep.
This is going to be brutal with Dad, he just can’t figure out what’s going on.
Now the next round of fun stuff starts. When to have the funeral, etc, etc.

  6. FWIW- I drove past a few auto parts stores this morning, unfortunately before any of them were open for business. Now I hope the car starts again, and if it doesn’t I will just buy a battery from AAA.

    • Barb says:

Battery from AAA will be quite a bit more – (I’m pretty sure)
Call Allan – he’s working today – he might swing by & take you to the auto parts store if he’s bored.

    • Jenka says:

Buying a battery from AAA is going to be much more expensive. I had my battery replaced at Auto Zone (the one at Memorial and Moreland) in January and it was around $200-ish and it was done in 10 minutes. The AAA guy who gave me a jump said that batteries last about 5 years, I’m sure yours is at least 5 years old. So it’s time.

  7. Just received an email from Apple announcing a new Apple Store in the Mall of Georgia. Malls still exist? 🙂

  8. Jenka says:

I was coming here to say the same thing everyone else said, so I won’t bother! 🙂

Kevin had a work thing so Finn and I went to Fellini’s for dinner. When Finn goes to his mom’s tomorrow we won’t have him for the better part of two weeks, so I am not cooking and creating leftovers that won’t get eaten.

It looks like rain but it keeps not raining.

  9. M6 has a new battery from AutoZone. It was not cheaper than AAA, but the reason I was there was to get a battery, so I did. I also bought new windshield wipers that I intend to install today.

  10. My mail hold ended yesterday but the mailman just went down my street and my mailbox is empty. There is no way that I didn’t receive mail in the twenty days I was away. Fuck. I knew I should have gotten my ass in gear and installed a lockable mailbox before going to Europe.
