Unfortunately I have a lot to health issues fix when I get home. Where I will find the time to address my issues is unknown, but it may have to take priority.

On a brighter note… I spent a fun day kicking around Brussels, visiting the Atomium and Mini-Europe, the latter of which impressed me far more than I had expected. But apparently you knew this because i mentioned it in a comment? Ah beer… So far the downside of Brussels has been the cost of public transportation. It was $8.50(ish) each way for the tram/train to the area housing the two attractions. To add further cost, I was charged entry and the gate didn’t open, so I hat to pay $17.00 to get there; I may dispute the initial charge, or I may just chalk it up to the high price of travel in 2024.

Yesterday marked the 365th day since my relaunch of Duolingo German studies. I still can’t speak the language very well.

    Just because – 1st!!
At the same breakfast place- Paulie hasn’t been here & there’s lots of great choices.
Today I’ll get pancakes – yesterday was French toast. Waffles here are a big breakfast, so I’ll have a bite of Allan’s.

At 1pm we meet up for the beer & chocolate tour.
Off to find a bank to get Euros to pay for it.

Ya can’t go to Belgium and not have waffles! (Heh — I did not have waffles when I was in Belgium because I’m a moron.)

  2. I had essentially Belgian chicken and waffles. I’m sure my future cardiologist is shaking a head in dissent.

  3. Because I couldn’t initially think of the word, I had to start describing diarrhea to the pharmacist who spoke very little English. When I thought of the word, he fortunately understood and was able to sell me the appropriate medication.

For the record, I packed the correct medication, just not enough for the diet I have been ingesting.

3.7 miles wandering looking for a bank ATM.
Saw parts of town we probably wouldn’t have gotten to.
Saw the Royal Palace, but didn’t really explore that area.

Wordle in 3 after whiffing with my starter word.

After some mowing, I went for a R U N !! Wow. When was the last time I could say that? I did run some treadmill in Newark, so that almost counts. It was more walk than run.

Tree man will stop by today or tomorrow and let us know what he thinks. I’m afraid he might need a crane. It’s a tall tree.

Games meetings again. Will be weekly after next week.

And the mini-Europe looked really neat.

But $8.50 for the train each way is way cheaper than a taxi or something and it actually goes where you want it to go. Imagine that?!

I have nothing to report. We watched two more episodes of Peaky Blinders and had salads for dinner.

    • I’m not sure if a taxi would have cost more than $33? It just seemed pricey to me.

      • Jenka says:

For sure it would be more than $33 for two cab rides, one there and then back again. Although I don’t know where your hotel is, maybe you are staying right near it! 🙂

        • It would have been $33 one way, $66 round trip. We are near the central train station. It’s not a big deal, it just took my by surprise.

        • Barb says:

Some folks on our chocolate tour (from NC) f
Rented lime bikes to get back from Mini Europe. They said it was $30 something one way. & it was scary- they should have just ubered. I said – train was $8.40 1 way. They didn’t appreciate that. 😉
