Can lightning strike in the same place twice? It can in Wordle!

The rest of my day will be anticlimactic. I will be doing laundry this morning, and popping into a couple of banks to take care of business which needs to get done before I depart for Europe next week. Today I also need to make a decision about my cell phone, and, book a hotel in Amsterdam in which I will spend the night upon arrival. If I can find the time I also want to make a batch of pickled banana peppers since my hot banana pepper plant continues to be prolific.

Wordle: ONE, my starter was [REDACTED]
Connections: perfect, Yellow > Blue > Green > Purple

Airport now has 6 flights out of here by 6:30. Very busy place. I decided to Not check my bag since there was quite a long line.
Got upgraded to Comfort+, but the screen is in the arm rest. So I can’t watch anything until after take off.
    Maybe I’ll read instead.

  2. On my drive to the Waschsalon I honked at either an autonomously driven vehicle, or a Google Maps car. Lol

  3. Barb says:

    Yellow, green, blue, purple.
(Thought about Blue at 1st, but thought, that can’t be it)
    And Wordle in 3.

  4. Sally says:

Wordle in 5 because I’m tired. Used letters I had already used and knew they were wrong. Connections: b, y, p, g. Blue was definitely too easy for being blue. No issues in Strands.

Meeting a friend this morning at the river to run before work. Visiting with a friend in hospital after work. Otherwise nothing too exciting today.

I haven’t even thought about upgrading to more comfortable seats as I know it would be quite a bit more money. It was suggested that a 100 euros would suffice as a tip for the crew, chef and guides on the barge/bike trip. Need to see if it’s cheaper to get the Euros here or wait until I get there. Been reading conflicting information.

    • When I think what I go through to earn $100 these days I am flabbergasted how readily I hand out money for tips. Oh well, if I can’t afford it, I shouldn’t do it.

I’m getting some Euros here since I like to have them available to buy food or tickets for a train, bus, taxi from the airport. I’m hoping to sleep for most of the trip over in order to sync up with the local time when I arrive.

You ACED Wordle? In 5 and shouldnt have taken that long.

Start resetting your body clock NOW! Get u early and go to bed earlier. It works. No opinion on exchanging currency. I know the WF at Va/Hi generally has currency.

At the gate headed for a lovely weekend in Newark.

Good night bowling last night. Opened the second game with 6 strikes in a row, I got super nervous thinking about a perfect game until I got a 9 on frame 7. Spared frame 8 then 4 more strikes! Ended up with a 257 for my highest game ever!
I’m going back today to get fitted for my new ball, the guy in the shop wants to watch me throw so he can match the finger holes to my bowling style. It is much more technical than I imagined getting a new ball.

Pro tip for you Amsterdam travelers. Sleep as much as you can on the plane and when you get there STAY UP until the sun goes down. Seeing the sun go down does something to your brain and you won’t be jetlagged the next day. The couple I traveled with took a 4 hour nap when they got in and were jetlagged for 3 days and were miserable. I felt great the next day.
Tip #2 watch for bikes, there are more bikes than cars. If you step in to a bike lane you will get yelled at or hit. They do not mess around.
Tip #3 every bar/restaurant has free wi-fi. Stop in and grab a beer and you can download maps or communicate and not burn cell data minutes.

I am jealous of your trip and can’t wait to hear the stories.

    • Fuck dude, I’m never bowling against you again! You bowl your highest game and are getting rid of that ball? Baller move!

My plan is to try to sleep on the plane, even if I am in Cattle Class. Once I know in which hotel I will spend the night I will either ask for early check-in, or see about renting a locker so I can walk about unencumbered.

I will be targeting tourists when I’m cycling over there — five point each!

My buddy Eric has recommended a few things to do, I’m sure most involve beer.

I’m currently throwing a 16 pound ball inherited from my father and it is at least 20 years old. I’m dropping down to a 15 pound ball to save my shoulder and take advantage of the new technology and cover materials.
That and I waste money foolishly 🙂

        • I understand all those points, but you just rolled a 257 with the old ball!!!

Since I never intend to challenge you in the future, I hope you have continued success with the new ball. 🙂

    • Barb says:

dang Bob – I think we are glad there isn’t Cheddarhead bowling anymore.

I don’t know – last Spain trip we got in & took a few hours nap in the afternoon, stayed out very late & the next day we were good to go by noon (we did sleep in, but, its vacation, shouldn’t we sleep in a little? ;- )

My new Verizon plan should have unlimited international data….. I say Should – because I never 100% trust it

    • I may be switching to T-Mobile tomorrow? Regardless, I downloaded some maps in Google Maps so *hopefully* I can look up things offline if necessary.

    • Jenka says:

I’m with Barb — I’m a big fan of taking a one hour nap when you get in, maybe an hour and a half (but no more). It will give you enough energy to stay up until normal bedtime. Don’t sleep for 4 hours, just take a 1 hour nap. You’ll still be really tired at bedtime but you will not want to die.
