My second time in Ottumwa, Iowa. Didn’t see any part of town because I needed a night of rest. Today’s penultimate day of RAGBRAI will be 85 miles.

    Wordle FAIL! Had the last 3 in 2 and could not close the deal.

    We found great BBQ last night. I had been there once before but did not remember the name of the joint.

    So far no rain. Hope it holds

    yellow, green, blue, purple for Connections.

    New phone seems to be working fine – didn’t realize the 15 uses the USB-C plugs, so all these cords I have around here I can’t use. (but they do still work for my ipad)
    Time to spend more money.
    And – I can’t get my apple car play to work, but I was using a cord of Allan’s -so it might be slightly different. Once I get a new cord I’ll start googling & finding a video to solve my problem.

      Yep, my iPad uses C and we are slowly making the transition. The great part about it is that eventually all devices will be C and they won’t change it willy nilly. What got me the hardest is that most rental cars now only have C ports and my phone is still Lightning. When I flew into Hartford in April I needed my phone to navigate and it was dead by the time I arrived. When I went in May I remembered to bring a C-to-Lightning cord, thank goodness.

        some rental cars have bluetooth, but my 2020 CRV still needs the cord for the Apply Carplay. but I still like to charge my phone when we are driving even if I’m not using the navigation.

    Yesterday it was actually not hot and humid here on Amelia, but I stayed inside most of the day. Dinner with colleagues at a nice restaurant. Then hanging out at the bar with all the other conference attendees until close. Today we rented a cabana at the pool but it looks like it’s going to rain so I’m not sure how much we’ll be able to use it. Fancy dinner tonight that we’re hosting for special colleagues who send Kevin a lot of lucrative cases throughout the year.

      sounds like fun – I need to get to that area of the country someday – we’ve never been to Amelia.

    fixed my carplay – I guess you need a more specific data cord compared to a charging cord. So, I bought a little usb-c female to usb-a male mini adapter at Micro center & used the cord that came with the new phone.
