I didn’t want to jinx it, but it happened! No, I’ve not met a woman, I am no longer a partial owner of a house in Florida! The closing was yesterday, and after a few anxious hours I saw my checking account balance rise for the first time in three years. The amount I received is welcome but not life changing, therefore I am still trying to figure out how I will make money again starting next year. Last night I walked into my dining room and thanked my mother’s ashes for her house.

Hopefully more good news will happen today as my buddy Hank and I are going to tackle the drip that is occurring on the hot water side of the vanity that we installed about a month ago.

I decided to rewatch the first two seasons of The Bear before launching into the third. Thanks to Hulu’s commercial interruptions I was also able to wash my dirty dishes during the time that I watched three episodes.

Not much is on my weekend agenda, but I am certain that I will find things to occupy my time.

Wordle: four, my starter was. RUGBY
Connections: perfect, Yellow > Green > Blue > Purple

  1. Two short power outages this morning at the ITP Estate. Never a dull moment…

Congratulations on no longer being a partial home owner, and thanks, Mom! I know that’s a relief.

Covid brain fog is real. I went to the hardware store in Luthersville to get a threaded T to replace the leaker. No such luck. I could build one out of parts- OK. Got to the register, realized I had built a male, when I needed a female and started over. Got it all home, started gluing it all up and realized I did need a male. Put it away, grabbed a beer and sat outside for a few and realized what I built would work!!

After watching the debate, or as much as I could stand, we’re real estate shopping. I hear NZ is nice- TLS, make room!!!

    • Not owning the house is a relief and removes at least three monthly chores from my to-do list.

No debate watching for me. I don’t want either man to be our next president, but know that is not an option.

watched the recap on GMA on the debate – the Democrats need to figure something out…… it did not go well.

  3. As expected the pipe is being problematic. In hindsight we should have replaced this when we did the vanity and cold water side, but we were both hoping that things wouldn’t become and issue. We were obviously wrong.

    • The plumbing is unfortunately winning this round. I may have to call a plumber? Maybe I will go this weekend without hot water?

      • Barb says:

Allan is not a fan of messing with plumbing – so if it is anything “different or troublesome that could make a huge mess” – he will usually want to call a plumber.

Wordle in 2 starting with BREAK. Connections: yellow, purple, green, blue.
4th place in trivia last night. We were a bit rusty since we haven’t played in months.
Heading up to Hiawassee this week-end.

Packing up and leaving Denver this morning. My co-worker is even weirder than I am and she wants to get to the airport 4 hours early. That’s earlier than I would like but she can’t help her OCD any more than I can. Fortunately I can get her into the Skyclub with a guest pass. I’ll do puzzles when I get there!

    • Steve says:

4 hours?? Oh you poor child… I flew through DEN on SWA earlier this month. I thought there would be decent food options, but the whole place seemed to be under construction.

    • Barb says:

glad you have a SkyClub guest pass – 4 hours is way early to get there.

I got Wordle in 4 – haven’t messed with Connections yet

    • Jenka says:

Thank you both for your sympathy! 🙂 Well, she has to check a bag and she also doesn’t have TSA pre-check, so to be fair it will take her longer to get through everything.

      • Barb says:

sometimes the commoner line is faster than pre-check.
Now – the checked bag can make a difference, but usually not 2 hours difference.

        • Jenka says:

That was true today! Co-worker breezed through the short line at security but they made those of us with pre-check walk all the way around the terminal to the other security point just for the privilege of not taking off our shoes. She was done way ahead of me.

    • I plan to get to the airport a day early when traveling to Amsterdam. Kidding. I am one of those people who get to the airport far too early. I know you are all shocked to read this.

Soccer game last night was fun, the atmosphere was electric! Watching MLS makes you really appreciate how different of a level these guys are on. Definitely world class athletes, the ball handling and speed I saw was just amazing. USA shot themselves in the foot when they punched a Panama player and got a red card. After that the ref seemed to join the Panama team and the officiating was really one-sided. Good times overall and our seats were amazing, like only 10 rows up in the lower section.
Getting ready to load up and head to Florida, have a great weekend all!

  8. Success? Only time will tell now…
