A mea culpa
My Upside submission for Wrecking Bar was indeed declined, but in this instance it turns out to be my fault. I uploaded a copy of the itemized receipt, which did not prove that I paid with the credit card I have registered with Upside. Now, if it hadn’t taken ten days! to inform me of my error I might have been able to upload a photo of the proper receipt, but by yesterday that receipt had long been shredded.

Last night I discovered that season 3 of The Bear is now available on Hulu. I am looking forward to watching it soon.

I need to do a lot of work in WLF today, but I am not looking forward to this because it’s already very humid and will be another warm day.

Wordle: four, my starter was CRISP

    Wordle in 4.

We have a quarterly division meeting and they are always compelled to have some sort of team building exercise. Yesterdays was poorly thought out and poorly run, but otherwise, not a lot of fun.

I went to help Debbie feed the horses last night and found a leak coming from the new washer plumbing. After a quick retightening of connections, I found a tiny pinhole in a fitting. I swear I bought spares when I made the last run to the hardware store, but they were nowhere to be found. It was too late to buy from them and I wasn’t going all the way to Lowes, so it waits for my return later today.

I forgot how much fun Covid isn’t. Still a lot of coughing, but no more fever. Getting on my bike may kill me.

Steve – you went to the meeting?

our washing machine little leak was in a very hard to get to spot -I don’t know if we could have figured it out on our own (if we had really tried – which we didn’t)

We actually got a little rain last night!

      • Steve says:

No, it’s still available virtually. I listened and surfed until I couldn’t take it anymore.

I went to dinner at the newest “cool kid” restaurant at the Marietta Square – called Marietta Proper – with JoAnna. I guess soon they will open a speakeasy section, but right now its just a dining room. Food was ok (smaller plates concept), cocktails took too long to get, waiter had a good sense of humor. A little too pricy to go back any time soon, I like Silla de Toro – a Spanish tapas place – much better for that type of dinner on the Square.

But- got rained on going back to my car – so that made being out & about worth it.

  3. Barb says:

    as for Upside- ooops!
I bet they have almost zero employees to go thru the receipts sent in.

Racetrac has 28 cents off gas & I have a 15 cent bonus to use – it might be cheaper than Sam’s gas

I saw that season 3 of The Bear is out, we will watch it next week. I thought season 2 was not great, but hopefully it was just a sophomore slump and 3 will be better.

Last day of my conference and I fly home tomorrow. It’s been pretty informative and I’m glad I came. Emory has the largest contingent of attendees so the CEO of the software company that the conference is about sat at our table at lunch yesterday.

The resort we’re in is 40 minutes south of Denver so I haven’t bothered to explore (besides the fact that I was in sessions and lunches/dinners from 9:00-8:00 yesterday).

    • Barb says:

sounds like just a resort exploring to me

Glad the conference is worth going – it always sucks when you think its a waste of time

    • Season 2 was not as good as Season 1, but I thought that it had some outstanding episodes.

Has to be something fun to do south of Denver. It’s been years since I been there, but the Echostar office was south of the city and we were not at a loss for things to do. Have as much fun as you desire. 🙂

    • Bob says:

I have been in that situation twice, played a golf tournament and we were in negotiations to purchase software from the main sponsor so the CEO was paired with me and rode with me in the golf cart. That was a long day, had to be “on” the whole time.
Second was more fun, we were looking to outsource security operations so had lunch with Robert Herjavec (Shark Tank guy) since he owns a security business. We also got to go to his Las Vegas residence for a party that night. That one was cool.

      • Jenka says:

Yes, the being “on” for hours and hours is the hardest part for me. That Las Vegas party sounds cool!

  6. Taking my first break of the morning. I have been at it since about 6:30, doing some manual labor in WLF. I harvested some more potatoes, now I need to start eating some!

  7. Bob says:

Terrible night bowling last night, I think my high game was 165. We were all “off” so we lost all 4 points 🙂
Going to the USA V Panama soccer game tonight, hope there is not too much craziness from the debate. We are taking Marta just in case traffic is nuts.
Wordle in 4 yesterday thanks to your hints.

Leaving tomorrow to get my Florida man card punched. Full week of boating, beaches, kayaking, and golf. Should be good times!

    • Barb says:

Allan is not working today – he’s happy bout not having to be near downtown.

BTW – where are the CNN studios now?
Didn’t they move out of the CNN Center?

I heard they are going to mute the mikes when “whoever” isn’t officially speaking, which means all the interrupting & that nonsense won’t happen. So, to me, it will be a boring debate.

      • Is there a debate that is not boring?

I heard CNN moved out of CNN Center. Perhaps they still have studios there? Perhaps they can do it at Cartoon Network, which would be apropos.

      • Jenka says:

CNN moved to their Techwood site.

        • Steve says:

The debate WILL be at the Techwood site. They’re closing 10th from mid-Tech to Spring!! (plenty of kill zone) and we are WFH because of it. Cartoon Network would absolutely apply.

If CNN isn’t in CNN center, what’s left? That was a goto lunch spot when the Fed was still on Marietta St.

  8. My lab tests came back with good news, my cholesterol levels are good, and I am not pre-diabetic. Woot!

  9. Not even 11am and I’ve given up manual labor for the day. I’m tired and hungry, but at least I am now clean. I knocked out six of the ten thing on my list.

  10. Went outside to take care of another of my checklist items and was reminded that 85°F is still fucking hot, especially when you are in the sun.

  11. Barb says:

traffic is horrible – hope no one has to go out
