It was a tough day yesterday. As I mentioned I opted for the shorter route of 82 miles, but most of the Chattahooligans went the distance to one hundred. It rained like hell, not for long, at about dinner time. Milledgeville is the only overnight town thus far where it hasn’t rained.
Today “only” 57 miles of rolling hills to Statesboro.
Wordle: three, my starter was SMOKE
Connections: perfect, Purple > Yellow > Green > Blue
82 is plenty of miles.
exciting day here- Allan got out the electric trimmers & worked on Dad’s beard. We usually go to Great Clips, but we decided to try it ourselves. It was really windy yesterday – so we did it in the garage. He got cranky – so we might try to clean it up a little more today. I did buy a cape that says “Shave and a Haircut – Two Bits” – so I told Dad he owes Allan a quarter
Happy Friday! Can’t believe I had to work all five days this week! My life is so hard. One more week of work and then I am on vacation.
I made the Italian sausage for dinner last night and we watched an episode of Top Chef. No spoilers, but there’s no “villain” this year, nor I think has there been one for several seasons. I am so glad they stopped doing that dumb gimmick. The Amazing Race mostly stopped doing it too, but the type of people who are going to do TAR are by definition annoying as fuck.
this season’s Amazing Race was good- the final 3 people I actually liked, so I didn’t care who won.
Oh, great! We will start on that when we finish Top Chef.
A long ride home yesterday, broken up by a good meal and live music in Austin. I told the musician I booked my layover for the music and he was tickled.
On the way in to Atlanta, I shared the front bulkhead with an attractive blond and her 8 month old son. He was really good, but only slept the last half hour of the flight.
Waiting on 300 bales of hay today. The days of me loading it are long gone. It’s well worth the extra cost to have them stack it.
And Paulie, thinking you failed because you ONLY rode 82 miles is BS.

Did you, like, leave the airport and go somewhere in Austin? Or did they have music at the airport?
Live music in the airport- several locations! I had been at a race in California and had a stop there and thought it was pretty cool.
unloading 300 bales of hay – no thank you
Funny, thats almost exactly what I said. Might have had more adjectives.
Hot day again, but 57 miles are already done!
Tomorrow is the end, 70 or so into Savannah. Plans slightly changed. I will spend Saturday at the ITP Estate and drive to Florida on Sunday. I’m bringing Stan and his back to Atlanta, and want to check a couple of things with the house and WLF before heading to Florida.
Can’t wait to hear about the house!
