Happy to say that my new bicycle tires worked well last night. In fact, my only complaint of the night was that ACF showed up on ITP-Reader Bob’s old bike and kicked my ass! I’m not sure that bicycle had ever gone that fast before. đ
For the next week I am going to clean and organize at least one room every day in preparation for my friends’ visit next week.
Wordle: two, my starter was LEAST
Connections: perfect, Blue > Yellow > Purple > Green
Wordle in 4 and shoulda been 3!! F’ers.
A quiet night. Shoulda run, coulda ridden, but after voting (and saying hello to 2 hunt friends who work the polls) I rode my recliner for the evening.
We’re watching the new season of Bridgerton and I’m trying to keep up. It’s silly fun.
Giro stage yesterday shortened because of rain and SNOW in the Dolomites!! Don’t know what today will bring.

Reading about the tornado which hit Iowa yesterday. Have heard from ITP-Reader Barb, she is fine.
It appears the tornado demolished one of the âmeeting townsâ, Greenfield, along this yearâs RAGBRAI route. It will be interesting to see if the route is changed, or if the town can handle the influx of people in two months; Iâm guessing the former.
I worried about Barb, but never thought of RAGBRAI.
I did hear the sirens for a few minutes – but it was really never that bad. Never even considered going down to the basement. It was very windy last night though. I had to shut my windows in my bedroom.
Watched the NBA playoffs (Celtics & Pacers) – Celtics got lucky & went into overtime – and then won. Yes- this is my fun đ
Mom got moved to a rehab place, my brother really doesn’t like it, but will he like anywhere? (its for 20 days max, and mom hates it too, but that would be everywhere). I asked my high school classmate FB group for what they have liked & not liked for places here in town, since many have gone thru this sort of thing.
I’m getting a list together to show my brother.
My mother loathed rehab locations, no matter to which she went. Good idea to crowdsource you high school friends.
Out harvesting a lackluster garlic crop. I had high hopes for this year, which were not realized.
However, I just harvest three beautiful leeks that have been growing for a while. Now, what to make with themâŚ
I’m glad somebody can make that bike go fast! đ
Another evening spent staining the clubhouse deck, we are almost done but I’m busy for the rest of the week so had to hand off the rest to the neighborhood crew.
Bowling league starts tonight with a meeting to go over how everything works followed by open lanes to bowl. Next Wednesday is the official first week.
Heading up to Brevard this weekend for some mountain bike and motorcycle riding, looking forward to exploring new areas.
I think ACF also rode in sneakers on flat pedals. It sucks for me to be old and out of shape. đ
Then again ACF is a freak of nature, anybody that would run a wheelhopper trail has a fitness level I will never achieve.
Yeah, I actually wasnât surprised. I thought whatever issues he had in the recent past might slow him a bit, but I was wrong. Hahaha
Really busy week so far, I haven’t had a minute to rest. We are replacing the elevator in our building and it will be out for 12 weeks. I am on the top floor and many of my colleagues have temporarily moved to a lower floor for the summer. It requires a lot of moving and tech support. It’s only the 5th floor, I think I can handle 4 flights of stairs.
In other news, my great aunt Dotty died over the weekend. She was 105, so it was not unexpected. She was a truly amazing woman who was a lieutenant in the Battle of the Bulge and later in life received the French Legion of Honor. My grandmother (her sister) lived in Florida for much of my young life so Aunt Dotty was that for me. I got to see her last month when I was up in MA, I’m so glad I did!
Wow, Jenka!! The greatest generation, for sure. I bet she had stories…
She had crazy stories! And she was always very happy and cheerful. Just a wonderful presence.
wow – 105 – wow
Seriously, that incredible. Iâm not sure thatâs my goal, if I make it past eighty Iâll be surprised.
Yeah, I don’t know that I would want to live that long. She was still “with it” but her quality of life was pretty low, even in a top of the line assisted living facility.
You can do it!
I am sorry to hear of your auntâs passing. My condolences to you and your family.
Listening to a podcast, Just Go Ride, which is mostly about RAGBRAI. They have mention more than once that this is the hilliest RAGBRAI ever. Oh boy! Of course this is subject to change with yesterdayâs devastation.
Paulie – you live in GA – it will be normal hills.
I struggled in 2016 a bit on the southern route. I sure wish I weighed 185 pounds like I did in 2022.
Lovely day for FIRE DRILL!
Actually it is, they are being kind. When I was at my last job I liked fire drills because I got to see all of the pretty women who worked in my building. Could I talk to them? Oh hell no!
Way back in the day when McKesson had fire drills they would have King of Pops or some other food available in the parking lot. Good incentive for all to follow the drill đ
I’ll put that in the suggestion box!! We are right across the street from Taco Mac, but it was still early for day drinking.
Plus you would have to go to Taco Mac.
good answer Jenka
Meh, Iâll never be a Taco Mac hater.
just ordered a Pure Wick for my mom – its an external catheter so you don’t have to get up to go to the bathroom. Since she’s pretty stuck in bed right now, its a cool thing. They had it at the hospital, but not at this place.
Damn – I think I want one for me so I never have to get up at night to pee.
(its not cheap, so I won’t be getting one, but I love the concept)
Listening to the Beastie Boysâ album âPaulâs Boutiqueâ â what a masterpiece of Caucasian hip hop!
