It was a difficult soccer weekend for me. None of the four teams for which I root won, the Atlanta United coming the closest by drawing after squandering a 2-0 lead.

It was a better weekend for WLF, as I puttered each day. With the early onset of days over 80Ā°F I have continued to harvest romaine lettuce before it goes to seed. I have four more heads in WLF.

On Saturday I went to a lopsided 19-0 baseball game at Georgia Tech, who beat Virginia Tech. I took MARTA to the game, walking from Five Points to midtown since the weather was nice. This was a great decision as I saw the massive amount of traffic which plagued the city that afternoon. MARTA was a lot less convenient getting back to my car, single tracking on the North/South rail line and then taking at least thirty minutes to get me from Five Points to Edgewood/Candler Park; annoyingly the green line which normally terminates at Edgewood/Candle Park, terminates at MLK on Saturday night, so I had to wait a long time for an Indian Springs bound train.

It’s BRAG Spring Tune Up week and I am bummed that I am still hobbling around in hip pain. I continue to stretch, but no matter what I do the pain returns eventually. The weather looks decent as well, so at least it will be fun to hang out with friends.

Wordle: three, my starter was CUMIN

It was a beautiful week-end although a bit windy on Saturday. Had the group run with Saucony at the store and then worked til 5:30. I decided to ride on the Silver Comet on Sunday. Wish I had known about the group ride in Milton for CHOA. Got in 62 miles. The Cobb County section was crowded but manageable. The Paulding County section was desolate but the trails were clean. Ran into Redeye out there. I did get a lot of compliments on my jersey “Feral, Impaired, Distracted.”

Wordle in 5 starting with BAGEL. 2 mistakes in Connections: green, yellow, blue, purple. Strands was a good one.

STU week. The weather looks awesome. Calling for some rain on Sunday but hopefully that will change.

Boston Marathon runs today. Looks like perfect conditions out there with a possible tail wind.

I can’t even with the Cobb County section. Good for you to get 62 miles in! I rode 30 miles in town with my friends Jamie and Stuart yesterday. 30 miles definitley the upper limit of my current cycling range. I’m planning to ride the 11 mile Cades Cove loop in the Smokies 9 times this August, so I need to get on my bike more. I did discover a new paved section of Beltline yesterday! Wonders never cease. The mile or so that runs behind Ansley Mall is now open for business. Its so newly open that the manure they spread around the landscaping stinks to high heaven.

Saturday was an “our tax dollars at work day”. Rachel’s driver’s license never arrived in the mail, so we went to the DDS office in Decatur. It was bizarro world, most of the doors to the half-dead mall are locked, but we found the side door to go in. And then found that their computers were down state-wide. I should have thought to get Steve on the case. šŸ˜‰ We’ll try again next Saturday.

No word games today yet. I had another protracted conversation yesterday, but this one achieved some things that previously felt impossible to achieve. #boundaries!

Wordle in 5!! I thought I was going down in flames.

Saturday’s work went well, but found out Sunday 45 cameras had come up with old IP addresses! WTF, O? Very odd, but we worked through it.

I watched a lot of golf- was hoping for some close competition, but the leader finally pulled away late Sunday.

Finally celebrated our anniversary Saturday evening with our favorite sushi place.

Rode 22 yesterday- had planned on longer, but found the only bit of wind and was annoyed. I used it to my advantage to blow me home.

where is your favorite sushi place these days?

      • Steve says:

Kinda Newnan, but more Sharpsburg… like you head to EM and Head Nurse, but instead of turning right off the exit, turn left and it’s just a few miles. TOMO!

    busy weekend camping.
Indian Springs will work well for a Wheelhopper camp out in October.
There are also cottages near the campground, in case people don’t want to camp.
Found some new (maybe just to us) trails to ride nearby – I am so out of mtn biking shape, it was way tougher than it needed to be. Could have been partially because we drank plenty Saturday night too. Who knows? šŸ˜‰

    Perfect weather all weekend.

I banged my hip on the picnic table – tripped on the edging around the campsite – I have a good bruise & it is quite sore. Of well….

I fell off of my bike yesterday and banged up my left wrist. We stopped for a break, and there was a 2″ drop-off on the edge of of the sidewalk that I didn’t notice when I was swinging my leg over. I don’t thnk I did any major harm, but my wrist is definitely talking to me today.

BLUE – YELLOW – GREEN – PURPLE today.
Wordle in 3 -did I guess the same second word as Paulie?

I had a great trip to MA. Friday I saw Dad briefly and then went to dinner with one of my lifelong friends. Saturday my brother Jesse and I went out for a great breakfast, then hung out with our dad all day. We went over to visit our great aunt Dottie, who is 105. She lives in the same complex as dad but on a different wing with 24 hour care. My dad is 100% independent and basically lives in a regular apartment building. Dad has celiac so he was very excited to go to a gluten free restaurant that he found. Sunday morning I visited briefly with them and then hit the road for the airport. I got to the airport two hours ahead of time, as I usually do, and then the plane was delayed an hour. I didn’t get home until last evening. Great trip with lots of family time!

    Now back to the grind.

    Busy weekend!
I thought about getting a jump on the camper prep on Friday but taking off the cover with those winds was far too dangerous, I may have ended up in Kansas.
I bowled my average on Friday which is not too bad but I just seemed off and could not buy a strike. That carried over in to Saturday at tennis where I just could not pull it together and lost my match. Camper cleaning and yard work took the rest of the day.
Neighbor had a dads get together Saturday night and stayed WAY too late. My ride on Sunday was a rough 20 miler. My knees were killing me last night, I’m worried about what will happen after this weekend. Getting old is rough šŸ™‚
Weather this weekend is looking great, at least it will be nice out as I take all day to finish the rides.

  7. Sitting at the dentist, time for a semi annual checkup.

  8. My punishment for overeating was mowing the front lawn, which I just finished doing.
