Mostly boring day yesterday consisting of running many errands, and going for a 3.5 mile walk.
Wordle: three, my starter was TRADE
Connections: perfect, Purple > Green > Blue > Yellow

Weird fact of the day. On the episode of “I’ve Got a Secret” from 1955 that I am watching, one of the people on the show was Soupy Sales. Upon reading his Wikipedia page I found out this trivia about his sons:
“Sales was married twice: first to Barbara Fox, from 1950 until their divorce in 1979. They had two sons, both of whom are rock musicians: bassist Tony Sales and drummer Hunt Sales. The brothers were the rhythm section for Todd Rundgren in the early ’70s, then for Iggy Pop starting in the mid-’70s, and later were half the band Tin Machine with David Bowie and Reeves Gabrels, from 1988 to 1992.”
Also on this episode was Ronald Reagan. I was hoping his secret would be “I am going to run for the office of the Governor of California”, but it wasn’t.
Wordle in 5… how many first letters could be different? I still had one to go, but worked through 3 of the 4!
As I sat in the car having my oil changed, I noticed my phone said it was on a 5G network so I ran Speedtest (because I’m a geek like that). 25 MB down I can get at the house, but 25Mb up is a little special. Certainly not the second coming, like they claim.
In the office on a Thursday since Sam covered Tuesday (we had stuff that needed a body on site). Today, not so much, but I was out Monday and Tuesday.
30 minutes on the trainer last night. Was thinking about a run, but by the time I started moving in that direction, it was raining. About 3/4 of an inch in the gauge this morning so far.

I’ve always considered 5G to be a bit of a marketing gimmick. I’m sure 6G will be the best thing since sliced bread. 🙂
I haven’t been outside yet to check the rain gauge. I intend to do a bit of WLF cleanup today.
Blame it on the eclipse. 😉
Wordle in 2 1/2 because I had all but the middle letter on my second try. Gave up halfway through on Connections due to apparent lack of knowledge and/or disinterest. Strands took a second to get started and then unraveled just fine.
My two weeks of temporary cat custody ended yesterday. It sure was nice having them around for a bit.
Wordle in 3 starting with LONGS. I thought of 3 words it could be after that. I chose the wrong one but it eliminated one of my choices, so I came up with the 3rd! :). One mistake in Connections. Totally opposite of Wee: Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple. Strands was a little more difficult.
Very windy last night. I heard things flying around and then a big thud. I think it was the neighbors basketball goal. Luckily it fell away from their car.
Jasper goes home tonight. I will miss the little guy.
I thought I heard wind last night
Looks like Jenka may be amidst a commute from hell today. I thankfully made it through the opposite direction without issue. But the other way, truly a voyage of the damned.
Hmmm. Not only was it fine, but traffic was actually a little lighter than usual going around Paideia. But I left before 8:00, so that might’ve made the difference. SO GLAD I missed it! Ugh.
I rolled through around 8:30 and it looked hellish. Oakdale was backed up beyond sight, and Euclid was backed up half-way to L5P. You dodged a bullet for sure. I have no idea what was causing the jam.
boring night around here last night –
I did have lunch with Davey & Ramaho – got caught up on the hash gossip.
Allan is in a 2 day class (yesterday & today) so he had to study last night.
Made a boring dinner – (chicken sandwiches & tater tots) . Watched stupid shit on TV.
The weather this week is not being very helpful to get bike riding in.
This weekend will be Mtn biking at Dauset (& camping at Indian Springs)
But – I have ridden more before STU than I have in the past few years.
Our big lecture and reception were a complete success! Very well attended and the dean (my boss) was very moved. Kevin and Finn ignored my (delicious) chili and went out to dinner, so after the reception I took myself to Wisteria for a glass of wine and a quiet meal, which was just what I needed.
Tomorrow I’m heading up to Massachusetts to see my dad, whom I haven’t seen since about a month after my mom’s funeral. He sold the house and moved into an independent apartment in the assisted living facility and I’ve haven’t seen his new place yet.
Safe trip. Hopefully he’s good with this adjustment(s). That has to be a lot for him.
Considering he lived in a house in the middle of nowhere since 1982, living in what is basically an apartment building has GOT to be weird for him!
so where did Kevin & Finn go to dinner?
How long will you be in MA? just the weekend?
They went to Surin, it’s their go-to for when I can’t go. Kevin doesn’t have to read the menu because they always get the same thing.
Just the weekend, flying back Sunday. I wish I had the time to go to a Red Sox game, but it’s maximum family time. And I’m flying into Hartford, not Boston. It’s the same amount of driving (about an hour) but a much calmer experience than flying into Logan and driving through Boston.
I was shell-shocked the first time I rode in Boston traffic. Granted I was emerging from a sheltered childhood, but still…
Driving in Boston doesn’t bother me, but rush hour traffic leaving the city late afternoon on a Friday means sitting at full stop on the Mass Pike for two hours. No thanks!
Yeah, I’d be able to hold my own in Boston just fine now.
I’ve never been to Boston -its on the list of places to get to someday
ran to Aldi for mozzerella – I’m making a lasagna (might be for tonight, might be for tomorrow might, might be for the freezer)
No 50% off stickers – but the shelves looked a little empty – they may not have gotten the next truck. Or – just everyone bought everything yesterday, so no close to sell by date meats.
In from WLF. My first transplant of sunflowers appear to be dying. Poop. Today I transplanted the rest that germinated, as well as the two pepper plants I bought at Lowe’s last weekend; it appears we are finally past the point of the temperature dipping below 45°F, so I’m taking the risk.
weird sporadic rain here – for just a few minutes – and the sun is out
