Happy Leap Day. Today would’ve marked my seventh Leap Year Hash, and had I done them all would have earned a Leap Yeah Hashname. Does Atlanta still do Leap Year hashes?
I spent the majority of yesterday choring, mostly cleaning up and organizing the ITP Estate.
At the beginning of every month Apple poses an exercise challenge on my Apple Watch, and once completed awards me a virtual pin. February’s challenge could have been one of the easiest posed, except for one thing… My February challenge was to do six indoor cycling sessions, each lasting at least five minutes. Given that all of my trainer sessions last at least thirty minutes this should have been easy to accomplish, except, for the fact that I spent nearly two thirds of the month away from my trainer. Oh well, no virtual pin for me!
Sadly I had to give up reading a book I had on loan from the library because there was no way I was going to finish reading it prior to the due date. The book, a novel written by comedian Steven Wright called “Harold” was quirky and good, but I never made the time to read it while I was in Florida. I did check out another in the Hamish Macbeth series from author MC Beaton yesterday to replace “Harold”. I cannot figure out the public library system because apparently I have to read this book from within the Libby app, whereas most other books I am able to download to my Kindle and read them using it.
Not that I needed to start another tv series, but all this talk about Will Trent taking place in Atlanta has piqued my interest and got me to watch the first episode. I’m almost tempted to read the books first. Barb, I have still an interest in watching For All Mankind.
Wordle: three, my starter was WEIRD
Connections: perfect, Green > Yellow > Blue > Purple
Wordle in 4, starting with READY.
Had a nice chat with my quadruple bypass friend Jude yesterday. Lots of color, as he’s been walking every day. Going a bit stir crazy and ready to get back to work. As he was a big player in what we’re doing this weekend, it’s driving him nuts.
I think we’re ready for the weekend cutover. A few security changes were made to help and we’re just waiting on GO.
Leap Day Hash is in Tucker and I did think about going. I know I have several pins from previous years and they were always silly fun. We’re finally going to Valentine’s Day dinner tonight.
40 minutes of 30/30 intervals on the trainer.

Good on ya for the workout!
Good luck with the cutover, and smart to only celebrate VD once every four years. 😉
Wordle in 5 starting with TIRED, one miss on Connections.
wordle in 4 – but I wasted my 3rd guess – forgot to add a letter – ooops
Connections was perfect – couldn’t see anything for a minute or 2 but then finally say Yellow & Green
I’m guessing David is tired today if his starting word is any indication.
Can’t you re-new a book at your library? I just renewed my library card on Tuesday.
I am driving up to Furman today after work for an event involving a friend of mine’s daughter. She wanted me to come see her perform so here I go. Will be a long night for sure, especially the drive back. A little chilly and windy for the run at Scofflaw last night but the beer and pizza were good.
Wordle in 4 starting with ROUGH. 2 mistakes in Connections: green, yellow, blue, purple. Purple was stupid.
It can be renewed if no one is waiting for it to become available, which was not the case with this book.
I will agree about the purple today. I certainly didn’t spend the time to work it out.
Guilty as charged, Sally.
that’s a late night drive Sal – your friend can’t put you up for the night?
She’s a college student and I work tomorrow. 🙂
Did something a little different this morning. Perhaps I have potatoes on the brain, so I chopped and boiled a couple of potatoes, then proceeded to fry up some of the chunks with a couple of eggs for breakfast. Quite lovely, if I do say so myself.
Today I need to get up on the roof to clear off any branches which fell yesterday, and ensure that no damage has occurred. Ah the luxurious life of the homeowner!
I made the Mexican dish last night; when I use taco seasonings I call it Mexican Skillet and when I use Italian seasonings I call it Italian Skillet. Added cauliflower to make it healthy. 🙂 Whatever, The Skinniest Boy In The World (aka Finn) ate a huge bowl of it, so that’s all I care about.
Haircut after work tonight, I haven’t had one since November.
Hmm, I like the flexibility. So international! 😉
On my way to Betsy’s last night I checked my local jigsaw puzzle lending library. Thankfully, since I have so many puzzles to do already, it appeared as if someone raided the library recently and took any good puzzle.
Sal, I have three puzzles earmarked for you. I will try to have them with me the next time we meet up somewhere.
Can’t wait!! Thanks. I have two for you. One you have already done and an Aldi one.
Yay!
We will be going to Tucker to the Leap Year hash – I don’t think I’ve missed one yet –
it will be our 7th for sure (& maybe my 8th) but we were named at the same one.
I found my necklace with the name Pole Dancer. I can’t remember what Allan got named.
Nice. Have fun!
Allan’s hash name is Hose before Hos
or maybe the other way around
HAHAHA
Wordle in 3 with no cheating. Well, sort of no cheating. I looked at the starting words here and figured my normal REACT or TRACE wouldn’t get me to far. TIGER got me enough letters to guess right.
Connections with no mistakes and yes, purple was stupid.
Rained like hell yesterday evening which cancelled tennis so I was lazy and ordered pizza. Beer fest Asheville starts tomorrow kicking things off at Malt Disney World (Sierra Nevada brewery) for lunch. The food is amazing and the building is beautiful. We have about a dozen dads from the neighborhood going so will be fun times visiting as many breweries as we can. Can’t wait to get back to Burial, one of my all time favorites.
Following weekend going to Florida for a wedding, I should bring my bike to get some miles in. Don’t want to have STU sneak up on me again.
Whatever gets you there, Bob. 🙂
Fortunately for me I walked home prior to the rain’s start, especially since I had no idea a severe storm was in the forecast.
I’ve been to Sierra, aka “The Mothership” as BWANA calls it, once. It was when I stayed at Supersuck’s cabin and the three of us drove over for a visit. I’d like to return. I have a feeling that I will be making a trip to Asheville this year, but I have no idea when since my dance card is already so filled up!
Bring your bike. I don’t know in which part of Florida you will be, but if it’s around Tampa the trails are nice and flat; I know from experience! 🙂
We will be going to Sierra Nevada on Monday 3/11 for the 1st time.
Jeff (aka Sauercrotch) has booked up some sort of tour. We will have lunch there before the tour too.
Never done the tour (I know how beer is brewed :-))
Looking forward to your review of the facility, it is pretty amazing.
I don’t really care about the tour, but Jeff wants to do it – so – we will pay along. Plus- more tasting of beer is involved.
The tour is pretty nice though. I also love walking through all the gardens.
The tour is decent, the benefit is sometimes getting to drink something they cannot sell.
3/11? But that’s Black Sheep Founders Day!!! I know, you don’t care. 🙂
Yeah, two years later and I still have this date burned in my brain.
I totally forgot when we booked the camping trip. can you believe it?
Inconceivable! 😀
I drank so much Sierra Nevada in my 20s that I can’t stand it anymore — even the smell!
Interesting. I don’t drink it nearly as much as I once did. It used to be the drink of choice on Wednesday nights at George’s once the first $5 pitcher was done and it was time to drink better beer.
In the 90s there wasn’t much choice if you wanted to drink good beer. I had a choice of Sierra Nevada or Saranac. I drank a good bit of both! For some reason I’m okay with Saranac though, maybe because you can’t get it down here.
I’ll be in Sanford (just north of Orlando) and St Augustine.
Thanks for the motivation, I’ll start researching routes to ride while I’m there.
There is an Orlando loop, at least YouTube has recommended videos detailing such since I have been watching Florida Coast to Coast videos.
Time for me to play Santa and go up on the rooftop. So, if you don’t hear from me by 1:00pm, please call 911.
Needless to say that I was not enjoying my time on the roof today, so up and down as quickly as possible. I’ve removed any of the branches that were up there, and thankfully found no damage to the shingles.
