Good ending to my week. Yesterday we were able to empty the house of almost all of the knickknacks, and, a lot of the furniture. What remains is mostly items that are of use for when we stay at the house prior to sale, or will be leaving the house upon sale. Also, we were able to fix the leaking tub/shower faucets by replacing the washers. After a week of using T-Mobile’s home internet I am loving it. I will certainly by taking it to the ITP Estate upon the Florida house sale to see how well it works in East Atlanta.
My brother and sister in law start their return north today. I am going to extend my vacation because somebody has to eat all of the food left in the refrigerator. Hell, weather permitting I may finally get in some bike rides, and catch a Blue Jays preseason game while I am here. Rain is moving in for the weekend in this part of Florida, so I will likely attempt to finish any of the indoor house chores remaining, and start the jigsaw puzzle that I brought with me.
May you all have a fun weekend.
Wordle: three, my starter was FIGHT
Connections: perfect, Blue > Yellow > Green > Purple
Although not even a quality internet connection can overcome the issues Apple is having today. For me apps from the App Store Are not updating, and every request to listen to music using Apple Music is failing.
Tried chatting with Apple Support, but was tired of working for them for no reward so I gave up. The Apple System Status page still says all systems are good, but I still can’t update apps nor listen to music.
Apparently I am the only one in the world having these issues?
I updated an app today
I was able to update apps when I switched off WiFi on my iPhone
I have my App Store set to automatically update apps, so I never think about it.
I just launched the update of four apps on my iPad which has no cellular service, and the wheels are spinning with no downloading occurring.
And the fact that this comment posted proves that I still have an internet connection .
Good progress on the house Wee! Have a fun day. Safe travels home for Barb.
Wordle in 4 starting with MOUSE. One mistake in Connections, Yellow, Green, Purple, Blue.
Nothing too exciting in my world. We sucked at Trivia last night.
Wordle in 4. Still mulling Connections. I have yellow with no errors so far.
This week was the first week at the new job. It’s fine. It’ll keep off the streets and contribute to finding my habit. There’s an amazing amount of food at all times so I need to learn self control when it comes to snacking.
At the ortho now waiting to get my knee checked out. I hope he’ll do doing injections and send me on my merry way.
Ponies get shoes today and I hope to get a lot of riding in this weekend. Safe travels to Barb and Ronnie +1.
Wow, well done on getting the house cleaned out! I have such PTSD about that it makes me shudder.
I saw Barb check in at the airport at an ungodly early hour this morning, as per usual!
I love a direct flight – but WAY TOO EARLY in the morning.
Damn Delta – come on!!!!!
Got to my desk at 10, so busy trying to get caught up
Much credit for this effort goes to my brother and sister in law who have better social skills and were able to talk to the AirBnB people in November. The AirBnB owners are taking the stuff to sell.
Wait, your mother’s house is an AirBnB? I’m confused.
No, and it never will be.
Lemme ‘splain.
When we all came down to visit her, but she died, I stayed in the house and my bro and SIL stayed at a nearby AirBnB. While there they networked with the owners. Since then the couple have taken stuff to sell (splitting profits), helped us fix a few things, and taken large items to the dump for us. This partnership has made the progress possible.
Clever! Who knew that social skills could pay off in such cool ways? 😉
You never know, the people who buy the house might use it as an AirBnB! Didn’t you say it was really close to the Blue Jays spring training facility?
It’s a fifteen minute walk to the stadium entrance from the house.
Sadly the AirBnB folk said it’s not in their budget at the moment.
Wordle fail! Had the first 3 letters in 3 but just could not guess right.
Connections was down to my last mistake but pulled it out. My brain must not be up to speed yet today.
Yesterday was a good day, the third stooge in our senior leadership fiasco decided to retire. Lots of changes and new faces are coming. I just hope it gets better and not worse.
I’m going to pull the trigger on the new bike today. Trek Checkpoint, looking forward to some gravel rides and a new ride for BRAG.
Good luck wrapping up the house Paulie and hope you get a ride in.
Bowling night tonight so I’ll be back ITP again. Maybe I should find a league closer to home?
Your old bike will be so sad to miss BRAG this year. Hahaha
Will ride, just have to wait for time alone and rain to pass this weekend.
Wordle in 6! I feel you, Bob. A couple folks on FB also rode it to 6 so I knew I might have issues.
We thought we would celebrateVD with a nice dinner in Lagrange, but the nice Italian place was booked solid- full of people with the same idea BUT made reservations! We retreated to the local pizza chain.
Want to get out and dust off my scooter- have to check the radar. 18 miles of gravel yesterday. Work in the office tomorrow. Gotta be done.

Sure leave it to me to praise T-Mobile and then have their home internet be the bottleneck for my music streaming / app updating issues. When I turned off WiFi all worked, when I reconnected to the WiFi it stopped working. Goddammit!
You are on to something there, I’m guessing there is a firewall setting or something you can change. Fire up the old Google and I’m sure you will find the answers 🙂
Yeah, just tired being a troubleshooter currently.
I haven’t encountered any firewall issues yet.
All I know is that this morning I couldn’t update my iOS apps, and then I was unable to stream music using the Apple Music app. Still an ongoing issue.
Much needed massage day. I’ve had two lunches in two days with friends get rescheduled but it has freed up time to work on the book. I might actually get Chapter 5 out the door today, which would be amazing.
I’m eyeing a two-wheeled return to Stone Mountain tomorrow. I think it’s been a year or more since I last rode that route.
I have decided that I’m going to table Yosemite due to the risk of snow closing the park, and Death Valley due to driving distance, and go to Joshua Tree instead next month. Death Valley is only 2 hours outside of Vegas, so I’ll go there in December when I attend a conference. There are services that deliver e-bikes to Joshua Tree.
I’m so tired – but I’m busy -so I guess that’s good.
it was snowing when I got on the road at 0430 to the airport, but I don’t think it will amount to much snow.
Took like 30 minutes to de-ice, but still landed on time.
