Making a lot of progress with the Florida house. Sure, the major plumbing issues still exist, but the same can be said for the Georgia house. To our surprise my brother and I actually repaired the outdoor light post which hasn’t worked in years.
We, the three of us, have an open day today. On what adventures will we embark I do not know…
Wordle: two, my starter was CREAM
Connections: one mistake, Yellow > Green > Blue > Purple
Wordle in 3, Conniptions fail!
Another inch of rain yesterday giving us at least 6 in 24 hours.
A meal from the service last night- Cobia over pasta. I never really think of fish as tough, but this guy must have been a fighter! And it wasn’t bad, just… chewy.
Games meeting tonight. Should hopefully be quick.

Had to look up Cobia fish. Apparently very healthy and flavorful.
Interesting that a meal prep company would use cobia, which is not well known. However, it probably stands up well to shipping!
I had heard of it, but don’t think I’d ever eaten any before. Nice taste, but like I said, really firm.
Wordle in. 4 starting with TOXIC. No mistakes in Connections: yellow, green, blue, purple.
Ran with the Smyrna Run Group last night. A little drizzle but not bad. Pizza was good, as was the beer. GUTS run tonight. Going to be a little colder.
So windy last night. I always worry about trees toppling after so much rain.
Brint has his hip replacement surgery today so send up some positive vibes for a good outcome.
Hope you find something fun to do today WLB.
If I were in the Atlanta area I was going to reach out to Brint to see if he needs anything. He’s been a friend to me, I would have liked to return the favor but alas I am too far away.
It’s very windy in Florida, and today’s high has already passed. The temperature is dropping into the 50s later this afternoon.
Coincidentally a dear friend of mine had hip surgery yesterday! Maybe they got a group rate?
Haha. I joked that we should get our next cremation free after paying for two.
Today’s “blue” category is the one that tripped me up today. I “knew” the connection, but picked one of the red herrings.
Good morning! It’s a beautiful day. Today is cleaners day, we are back on our regular rotation, thank the sweet merciful sunflower. We ordered salads for dinner and watched It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I think we are on season 9?
I tried It’s Sunny after getting to know Rob Mc from “Mythic Quest”, but the show wasn’t to my liking.
I decided to introduce Kevin to it after Welcome to Wrexham because he didn’t understand why I was freaking out when the Sunny actors showed up to Wrexham games. He LOVES it. I like the show, although I do find it to be the same joke.
this morning the thermostat started chirping.
wtf?
it wasn’t the batteries, but after messing with it for a little while, it finally stopped.
Still don’t know why it was happening.
just glad it stopped.
I have a head cold/sore throat. I went to bed at 9pm last night – I am not a person that goes to bed early. Mom & dad managed to get ready themselves (dad refused to get his pajamas on when I suggested it – they can do it if they have to.
just went to the HyVee for a couple more groceries – I am not paying the gas rewards game this time – I only got 5 cents off. I guess I need to study the ads.
Ugh, it sucks having a head cold and STILL having to take care of other people! I feel for ya, Barb.
BTW, I subscribe to New York magazine and they called Argylle “pure dreck.” I guess I have bad taste! Hah!
That clearly explains why you don’t like Hamilton. 😉
It’s just so boring. Some of us actually know American history, but it tries to shove every detail down our throats and is incredibly redundant. And it’s condescending as well. Like, thanks for assuming we’re all morons who never learned history, Lin-Manuel Miranda. Aren’t you so much smarter than the rest of us?
Jenka, you could write for the Cedar Rapids paper! 😉 It was a treat for me to get to see it twice. To each their own!
^Yes, EXACTLY!
Kudos on fixing the light post, I always feel particularly satisified when I can accomplish something like that.
Wordle in 4, FLUKE was not a good starting word. I had 3 correct letters in 2, and was annoyed when I finally got the word right. Clean sweep on Connections, including getting purple as the second category.
I forgot to mention yesterday that on my return trip from Carrollton Sunday evening I was pleasantly surprised when a Georgia State Patrol car cruised on by me as I was doing 80. He was clearly on the hunt as he lit someone up within a mile of passing by me. I’m glad that I wasn’t of interest. I’ve had that happen before, once I was doing 90 in LA (lower Alabama) and a statie blew on by me. Both times I was driving in the dark, so I didn’t know they were there until they cruised beside me.
Clean living. My general rule is never be the fastest thing on the road and stay out of the left lane.
That is exactly what I keep telling my daughter. Rules to live by for sure.
We watched a movie called “Alex & the List” on Peacock last night. Don’t bother…
that looks like a rom com that is horrible.
I just turned on the Hallmark channel for my mom – that will entertain her
It’s slow and predictable.
Well, I’m glad I held back on busying Princess Bride/Symphony tickets. I just snagged a stupidly expensive pre-sale ticket to see Neil Young in May. At least I’ll be close to the stage. I said fuck it because all of the tickets were expensive. This is a MAJOR bucket list concert for me. I thought about speculating on a second ticket, but I don’t know anyone that likes Neil Young the way that I do, so I decided to keep it simple. I don’t know if Neil Young had anythign to do with this, but the ticket prices were shown inclusive of all fees, and also included a parking pass. So there was no nickel-and-diming involved at least. This was definitely the first time I’ve ever seen this.
includes the parking too? that’s kind of cool.
where is the show?
Ameris in Alpharetta.
