It wasn’t my greatest time on the trainer yesterday, but it was the best of the three efforts I have put in so far this week. I have a long way to go in order to be ready for Spring Tune Up, but I intend to persist.
There was no Betsy dinner last night. I considered making the dish I was going to bring over but in the end realized that it would be smarter to eat more of the leftovers in the refrigerator in addition to the slice of pumpkin bread I allowed myself. Man was it hard to stop myself from eating a second slice of pumpkin bread last night.
I am not very impressed with Kaiser Permanente so far. Last night I went into their app to pay my premium and constantly received error messages stating they were “unable to complete my request at this time, try again later.” I hope that their healthcare is better than this. [Update at 6:30am: Still unable to pay through their app, but was able to log into website and pay.]
This morning YouTube recommended a video from a 1988 episode of the MTV game show Remote Control. YouTube has made me thrilled that people have uploaded these, shocked that this was aired about thirty-six years ago, amazed how much I remembered from watching this show (knowing almost all of the words in the opening theme song), and saddened because I am old.
Wordle: five, my starter was GRAPE
Connections: perfect, Green > Blue > Purple > Yellow
Here is the episode I just watched. Perhaps the best thing about it is that it retains the commercials which were aired in the show. Odd for me to say that, isn’t it?
And think about this, the contestants are roughly my age, so they are all pushing sixty now, god willing…
I am TOTALLY going to watch this when my boss isn’t around today.
All this episode is missing is an appearance by Adam Sandler, unless I missed him in it.
I never really watched much MTV – we didn’t have cable. I’ll have to watch this later
We didn’t get cable until 1990, when I was a sophomore in high school. MTV was the big thing in those days so from the moment we got cable I watched it whenever I could! Which wasn’t a ton, my mom had a strict no-TV-during-the-day-and-only-two-hours-at-night rule.
When I was a teen MTV was *the* reason to have cable tv. I was so happy when my parents got it, though looking back I am not sure how we afforded it.
I have been binge watching The Traitors Australia and had to skip to the final episode because I was starting to hate some of the people so much. When I saw at the beginning of that episode those people had been eliminated I decided to go back to watch the series in full. I give full marks to the creators and editors of this show for manipulating me as much as they have.
Wordle in 3 and coulda been 2! Conniptions FAIL. I think I got Green.
A very frustrating night of attempting to fix the wiring harness for the trailer. Apparently it cracked and was causing braking issues. I took some pics of the old connections and was close to being complete, but swapped out some connections, then started to follow the WRONG color code for the trailer and was getting very frustrated. Went in, had dinner and went back out and located the correct color code but by that time was out of interest. Today will be the day, as Debbie is heading to Ocala tomorrow!
Because of the time consumed by the work, I was unable to ride and because of the frustration, I went off the wagon and had a bourbon while in the hot tub. !!!!
Currently, it’s P O U R I N G outside.

Good luck with the trailer.
It’s been raining here, but not raining hard. I gave up my CHaRM appointment for this morning because of the rain, and am still glad that I have.
It’s been raining here hard off and on since last night. My house always sits in that red zone. Not looking good for Saturday outside activities.
Wordle in 4 starting with RAINY. Like Steve I could have gotten it in 1 had I chosen the right word. hahahahaha. Two mistakes in Connections: purple, blue, green, yellow. I had to stare at it for a while and then walk away and come back to it.
Working all day. The store is hosting a track spike night for Pace Academy so it will be a long day for me.
Good luck with the trailer Steve.
purple 1st? who are you?
the sump pump int eh basement has been making plenty of noise with all this rain – I keep hearing it last night as I tried to get to sleep, and then again this morning. I wonder how much rain we got? (I do not have a rain gauge)
Yeah, today’s purple is classic “Only Connect” tomfoolery.
I need an app that tells me if, and where, there will be no rain at a location amount of miles away from my current location. I’d write it myself, but it’s probably:
– done
– hard
– not profitable
and – where it is actually raining is sooooo predictable.
It was raining really hard on my “commute” to work today, took me 45 minutes to go 2.4 miles with all the stupid drivers. WHY?!
We went to Pure for dinner last night, Finn scarfs down their shrimp tacos so fast.
Contractor SAYS the shower glass and the kitchen backsplash will be installed tomorrow. We shall see.
wordle in 3 – just guessing worked.
Conniptions – should have walked away & tried later
Almost 3 inches and it’s still raining.
Wow, I doubt we got more than 1” in East Atlanta.
Hour on the trainer done. About to eat leftovers for lunch, and then will meet up with my buddy Hank later for a couple of beers.
Crap, I just looked up the winner of The Traitors Australia and it was one of the two people I could not stand. She walked away with over $200k Australian.
I won’t finish watching now because I don’t want to see that conniving b*tch gloat.
are you watching this on YouTube?
No, on Peacock.
And this is (one) reason why I can’t really do these competition reality shows. The type of person who is drawn to compete on these things is usually a complete asshole.
Don’t mind me, I’m just depressed today.
I’m just annoyed again today –
And now I am pissed. I transported about ten gallons of water to my original rain barrel only to discover that the spigot had split and was leaking. I just took the spigot off and am draining the barrel.
