One of the serendipitous moments that happened when I was in Florida occurred when my brother, SIL, and I had a drink at one of the (many) local breweries. I was planning to take all of the “in date” canned goods to a local church, but the brewery had a bin for a food drive! Woot! I returned the next day with the canned goods, and rewarded my generosity with a beer. 😀

For the first time since her death I had a weird feeling last night. As I was reading a book my phone started to ring. For what seems like over a year I shuddered at my phone ringing, fearing it was going to be news about having to do something to help her, or her sounding worse than the previous time we spoke. Of course it wasn’t a call from Florida, it was merely another political call, so I dismissed it immediately.

I spent all of yesterday at home, mostly decompressing, freezing my credit, and going through a lot of the things that I brought home with me. It was good to sort through everything, getting it all in order. Today I need to make a post office and bank run, before meeting up with my drinking pals for a couple of beers. I will probably also get a little exercise in the form of leaf raking again today, once the sun has risen.

Wordle: four, my starter was ADIOS
Connections: perfect, Yellow > Green > Purple > Blue

Wordle in 3 and perfect Connections.

People are adding to my Newark trip and causing issues. I’m about to start pushing back.

Finally saw the whole “starters pistol failure” from the London race. First failure, no one started, or just rolled a bit and were easily reset. Next failure, all started and the commissaires looked happy, but the motor stopped. Third try, another comm moves up track and has a whistle, just in case the gun fails again, but it fired. The crowd cheered!

45 minutes on the trainer while I watched the track racing.

Debbie made chili, which is really good!

Wordle in 4. Three correct letters in 2, and then I progressively filled one more in.

I got caught in Conniptions quicksand, flamed out after matching 2 categories. Stupid fucking game.

I know that space well on jumping at the phone from the early 2000s when my sister-in-law was awaiting a lung transplant due to cystic fibrosis. She did get the transplant but died of sepsis after the surgery.

      How horrible!
I have a friend that had a double lung transplant- he’s doing fine so far.

      • David says:

Thank you, Barb, it was tragic. Dannon lived to 27, which is ancient for CF patients. I am so glad to hear that your friend is doing well.

WTF?! “Adios” is not English! They allowed it?

I got a haircut yesterday. That is the only thing I have to report. Also, working from home is glorious.

Wordle in 4. It would’ve been 3 but my vast vocabulary led me to guess a much harder word. Right, Steve?

Connections made with 2 mistakes. Yellow — green — blue — purple. I lucked into the blue category.

  5. Debbie says:

Wordle in 4. Three guesses with only one correct letter and then boom. One mistake in Conniptions.

To answer your question from yesterday Jenka, I’m going to ask for a permit for 10 adult dogs which is more than I intend to have, but it gives me wiggle room. The puppies aren’t permitted because they leave within 12 weeks. Ideally, I’d like 4 females and Bennett. (Steve just cursed.) I’d like to have 2 litters per year and to give the girls a year between pregnancies. They’ll have a max of 3 litters. Once they retire from breeding, I’ll rehome them to people who don’t want a puppy. That’s the long term plan, but it will take at least 3 years to get there. We’ll build a climate-controlled kennel at some point to make it easier to manage them. While I’m looking at it as a business, ultimately they are also our pets so some will never be rehomed. There’s also the option of doing a co-own contract for a litter, but the female goes to a family as a puppy and just comes back temporarily to whelp. I hope to get that going with 2 or 3 people.

It’s been interesting to learn the different options for setup. I don’t want any of our dogs to live in a kennel full time. They need to be pets foremost. And I also don’t want more than 5 or 6 dogs at a time so figuring out the logistics of that is key.

George and Ollie go into the count as well.

Our property is currently zoned residential and it needs to be rezoned to agricultural regardless of the dogs.

And SpaceX has a launch window tomorrow morning starting at 8. Set your reminders.

Wanna hear something funny? MC (Sonya) can’t get in the blog. No idea why.
I told her she must be blocked.

  8. David says:

I learned today that Tin Lizzy on Memorial closed down. That was the original Six Feet Under location, and before that is was a grocery store. Time marches on.
