I have a lot on my figurative plate today, including more issues in Florida.
One of my chores this morning I am taking styrofoam, some chemicals, and a small amount of scrap metal and glass to CHaRM.
The early darkness is swaying me against bike riding tonight.
Wordle: four, starter PAGER
Connections: two errors, Blue > Yellow > Green > Purple
Wordle in 5. Seriously?
The check is in the mail to the dealer in Alabama. I learned the post office near me is closed for lunch between 2 and 3. I stopped at Crown Road and dropped it off on the way home. When I told the clerk I wanted to make sure it got moving, so brought it there, she said those days are gone, unless it’s international mail. That used to be the main PO for Atlanta.
Debbie had “book club” last night, so I spent my time trying to fix the TV audio “she” broke when she rearranged the living room. I fixed it, but I’m not sure how or why it was broke.
She is going hunting tomorrow (overnight) so my social calendar is free. Dinner anyone?

Allan is working Friday, and I think I’m going to an Oakland Cemetary Halloween tour event – I’m a fill in for Kevin’s friend Michelle – I guess Sani thought she was going to be in town & bought her a ticket, but she isn’t.
Yeah, the three POs around me are always closed for lunch. It was frustrating until I just learned that I needed to plan around it. I do everything I can not to go to the PO anyway.
Bummer about Crown Road, that used to be my go to post office for urgent mailings as well.
I would if I weren’t operating on complete overload these days.
I am not much help too with issues in Florida as I have my own issues. Aging parents. I wish it weren’t so complicated. I hope everyone had fun at the Spooky Stride last night. At least 2 of my friends won the free shoes from Altra. Wordle in 5 starting with FIORD. Perfect connections: Purple, blue, yellow, green.
Someone I know is happy about getting some free shoes!
It was fun last night – I’m glad we out of the house to go.
Massage night here today – I’m very ready for that!
I think I have dinner figured out – I think.
And good luck with your situation, Sal.
Altra is the new Hoka, isn’t it?
I almost went to the spooky stride last night but tennis in the neighborhood won over the 40 minute drive to Scofflaw 🙁
I’ll make it some time.
Final accreditation verdict meeting happening right now and then everyone goes away and we all start to breathe again. I. Am. So. Tired.
Today we have a meeting with our contractor to hopefully set the start date for the reno! In an email he said either right after Thanksgiving or Jan 3.
Sounds like Wordle is hard today. I’ll look at that and Connections later.
Glad the accreditation fun is almost over.
Allan said the news or something reported how so many of the City fire engines & trucks are out of service – so people are freaking out. (its been like this for ever & ever, someone finally noticed?) They have these EMS units – called Quick units – that aren’t all inspected, or staffed, etc yet – so they want to get them in service asap. Big muckity mucks trying to move the process along faster. Makes me laugh, because it can actually get done, if the right people get involved. But they are supposed to be staffed by civilians, not firefighters, but all the sudden that doesn’t matter?
The City is under pressure to DO something, so yeah, they don’t care how the units are staffed so long as they are active.
Allan is up on the roof, cleaning leaves and whatever else out of the gutters, etc. I hate when he’s up there – it is a long drop off the back of the house to the paver stone patio. But – as long as I can keep hearing the blower, I know he’s still ok
I am waiting for more leaves to drop before I get up on my roof. I should probably do it on a day when I don’t feel like jumping off it as well.
Must be mercury in retrograde or something, because we had our gutters done today too!
I have happily written a check for gutter cleaning for years now. I do not want any part of getting on a roof any more
^We can’t all be Allan!
TRUTH! I mean, Allan can mend his own broken leg if he falls off. 😉 I’d just be dead. Partly because much of my roof is so high off the ground, which is another reason to stay the hell off of the roof.
I used to pay for gutter cleaning when I had an income. It’s also not so bad since I had gutter guards installed.
Visited Summerhill Publix, dropped shit off at CHaRM. Wish there was a solution to Florida. Decided I should stockpile books and become a Luddite when I am seventy, assuming I make it to seventy.
Was going to shop at Lowe’s today, but I am already drained. All I can expect for the rest of my day is lunch, a shower, and some afternoon brain cell demolition.
Waiting on the farrier while Debbie is at the clinic with Phinney getting scoped. Looking for whatever ails him. Not good that you can’t ride your pony because he doesn’t feel good.
Time change is coming soon, we will be starting bike rides in the dark in a couple weeks. It takes me a while to get used to it and find motivation to get out the door.
My company gives us a wellness day tomorrow “your day your way”. I may just load up the motorcycle and go check out some fall colors up north.
Currently sitting in Chick Fila while getting tires rotated and TPMS sensors replaced at Discount Tire just down the street.
Load up? Is your scoot not street legal?
It’s street legal but a 300cc dirt bike on GA400 is just not very fun. I have a hitch carrier so it’s easy to load up and start my ride in the mountains instead of slogging up the highway.
No, I doubt it would quite keep up with the light speed traffic up that way. I’m going to look for some color around here tomorrow. Our trees are turning, but I’m sure we’re behind NGA.
Stop me when you have heard this before… another service is raising its price, this time Apple is the culprit.
Wordle in 5, had one strike left on Connections. I started my day with an hour long walk in Deepdene Park with my friend Augusta. It’s always lovely to catch up with her.
Total and complete whiff on Connections.
Went for a nice 3.5 mile walk to clear my head. Now to kill the unsuspecting brain cells!
