The other night I watched a documentary from 2017 on Amazon Prime called “All for One”. It was about the cycling team formerly known as Orica GreenEdge. I had forgotten that it was their team bus that hit the finish line at the Tour de France in 2013. For cycling fans I highly recommend watching this documentary, even if it is six years old.
Proud to say that I fought off the temptation of meeting my buddies for Happy Hour beers, and went riding last night and then drank beers. At least the post-ride beers were cheaper.
I might have to make a dermatologist appointment soon because my body is an asshole, continually coming up with creative ways to make me worry about my health.
I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was FIRED.
Since it’s hard for me to find something to declutter prior to Friday blogging, I decided to shift my reporting period, moving Friday to the front of the queue.
My Decluttering Week
Friday: (can’t remember from last week)
Saturday: expired bottle of sunscreen
Sunday: old softball bag (I haven’t played in nearly 25 years)
Monday: rollerblades (I haven’t rollerbladed in nearly 30 years)
Tuesday: helmet bought for rollerblading
Wednesday: bulky cycling light that I will never use
Thursday: tube of hair gel x2
Off to Huntsville….Huntsville Hamfest.

(First!)
Huntsvegas! Have fun in one of the five cities in which I have lived.
Pleasant morning in Atlanta, but today the only way I am taking advantage of this is by sitting drinking coffee and eating sausage biscuits for breakfast. I’ve started watching Agatha Christie’s Poirot on BritBox.
Wordle in 6. Grumble.
After cutting the grass yesterday Debbie had requested a hitch up the trailer so she could go and do pregnancy check for her friends horse. Our last use of the trailer was on that in that eventfull day when somebody broke ribs. Unfortunately I had failed to disconnect the trailer electrical connection when I pulled away when unhitching. So I spent the rest of the evening reconnecting with the seven wires to the connector and eventually got them all in the right places.
Off on my scooter shortly for a breakfast ride then some household distances this afternoon with the Mrs.

Good morning to be on any sort of bike. Enjoy your day.
The mornings this week have been GLORIOUS.
I really need to get outside in the morning – maybe I’ll get Allan & we will go for a walk in a few.
Wordle in 3, two days in a row. No mistakes in Connections. I should have taken advantage of this nice weather but couldn’t muster the energy to go for a run. Played trivia at Harry’s last night. We’re so rusty. Did not walk away with any cash. It’s been awhile since we played..post pandemic. Some of the old teams were there so it was nice to catch up with them. Decluttering includes a kabob rack and skewer set, omelet pan, measuring cup, oil separator, 2 cutting boards, bathroom scale, lunch bucket, koozies and some more old spices. Have a great weekend. May or may not see some of you!
Nice work with Wordle and Connections. I scored a “Perfect” this morning on Connections, admittedly the game wasn’t very tricky today.
Excellent list for decluttering. When I finally relent and strike the kitchen I will have many tough decisions that will make great strides in my decluttering game.
It’s been some time since I played proper trivia and I feel I may have aged out. My knowledge of “popular” things for the past twenty years or so has diminished greatly.
It has been a minute since we played trivia at Adam’s Garden of Eatin’! Back when Rogainus was a man! (Sorry, i couldnt resist)
And Adam’s was not an eye clinic, and the Chinese buffet was not a medical facility.
Okay, I just played Connections for the first time and failed. UGH. But, I like it a lot and will play it again.
You always have to look for the red herrings.
We went & spent my $10 winnings from last week (Kristina lost her $10 coupon, that girl) at Delkwood & lost at trivia this week. The questions were weirdly easy – (but easy for most everyone) – so it was the final question that did us in. Libby came along & we decided to let her pick the final answer, as it was an “ology” question & she’s in high school. We guessed wrong. Oh well.
Your companions from last week were absent?
the 2 dudes didn’t show -but we had Allan, so we were fine
What was the “ology” question? Just curious.
something about Oolgy – and eggs.
Libby thought it was snakes, but the right answer was birds.
We didn’t care, we knew we weren’t winning – you get double points if you answer before the multiple choices answer hints are given, the team next to us knew it early.
Ooooh, a tricky one! I would never have known that.
Ornithology?
Paulie – he said Oology –
Oh, I read Jenka’s “ology” and went from there.
And just like that I became motivated and am in WLF cutting tree limbs into sections that can be fed through my chipper.
David, traffic around Paideia was chaos this morning. As I waited in the queue on Fairview to cross Ponce (two lights) there were cars facing south parked on the sidewalk, a taxi sitting in the MIDDLE of the road with its hazards on, and various cars going south trying to squeeze between the taxi and the sidewalk cars. Chaos, I tells ya.
Went over to my friend Sarah’s house last night. She had shoulder surgery a couple weeks ago and can’t walk her dog. The dog is 80 lbs and pulls. That dog nearly pulled me over a couple times! Then we went to Spoon for dinner.
Bob, last night starts four days of going out for me. You and I both are going to have to dry out after this weekend! Dinner tonight with one of Kevin’s partners and his wife, birthday dinner with Sarah and her partner Saturday, Braves game Sunday. I am already tired.
Can’t you go out and not drink? *ducks* Kidding, have a fabulous weekend.
BTW- if you are in the Atlanta area, avoid looking at next week’s weather forecast.
HAHAHAHAHAH! NO.
Anyway, I meant it more that I will be soooooo tired. This middle aged lady does not have the stamina she used to have.
I hear ya, started last night with the post ride beers. Saturday will be the rough one with pub crawl then pool party. I have a feeling I will do short trail on Sunday’s Wheelhopper.
Bob – its a Rock Hudon trail with some help from Breaststoke – we are FOR SURE doing the short trail. And – a pool ending (…… and no Deaner speedo!!!)
We may need to check the beer coolers – as Dean is over at Eurohash – I wonder who beer meister is?
Good point on the Rock Hudson trail, I’m sure it will be a cluster.
I’m guessing Stan will bring the beer coolers.
I feel like it can only be a win to NOT see Dean in a speedo. Yikes.
And you can never unsee it, either.
Yes, Paideia traffic today was particularly wretched. I have figured out that I need to hit the junior high building first. Whomever came up with the cockamamie approach the school wants us to do is clueless. I went down Moreland to The By Way and came up Oakdale but that approach feels like a non-starter. I’m going to try taking McLendon to Clifton or something and approach Paideia from the east instead of the south.
Well, I think your Springdale>The By Way>Lullwater>right on Ponce plan might also be a good one. The cars coming south on Lullwater taking a right on Ponce this morning got somewhat backed up, but it cleared with each light cycle.
OK, that’s good to know. Lullwater does seem to clear up. Oakdale is definitely part of a direct approach to Paideia. I’ll keep working the angles, up until this year I could generally make it to Paideia from my house in 10 to 15 minutes, and I am not elongating that without a fight.
I have been dabbling in Wordle when I remember to do it. Got today’s in 2! Makes it easy when your start word has the last 3 tiles green and the second yellow. 🙂
I play it when I feel my brain might be working – but not everyday.
I don’t play it every day, barely even once a week. I only have the wherewithall for one daily app, and I give that attention to Duolingo.
Wordle in 3 starting with GRATE.
Kudos on the decluttering. I’ve started getting some traction again on that front as well. There was no space for it this summer.
I’m headed to the free Grand Funk Railroad concert in Sandy Springs tonight with Jamie and maybe Scott. My son has a burgeoning interest in Metallica, so tomorrow night we’re going to see the Arlington TX simulcast at Regal Cinemas in Sandy Springs.
I tbink I will finally have the headspace this weekend to disperse the 40 bags of mulch that I bought in the spring. I’m tired of seeing “stays where you put it”’on the bags.
The Summer Shade Festival is back in Grant Park next weekend, 8/26 and 8/27, for the first time since before COVID. Any and all ITP readers are invited to use my house as a base if you plan to attend.
I had a private yoga class this morning, and boy do I need to get back into that. I put my Thursday class of several years on hiatus back in December because life was coming at me entirely too fast. I’m ready to get back into it.
Thanks. Some of the items are tough, because they were bought with intent. However, if they haven’t been used, and I have not plant to use them, the need to go.
Next weekend I will either be at the Atlanta United game, or have thrown away $90 (2 tickets) because I am in Florida dealing with a situation.
ummmm – you have friends that might be able to with using Atl Utd tix. JUST SAYING….
EXACTLY.
If I determine that I am Florida bound I will have to learn how to transfer the tickets that my friend transferred to me when I purchased them from him. Stay tuned.
Done with my branch chopping, four bags of pathway mulch created and spread.
Longtime neighbor called me “Farmer John”, I think she said “John”, and it made me laugh.
Relaxing before showering, watching butterflies, bees, and dragonflies do their thing in WLF.
“stays where you put it”. Well, so far they’re good to their word!
Back from breakfast at the cafe and some scooter time. Really nice out- almost chilly!
Yes, it’s like an ancient curse or something.
David – 3 of the 4 bikes are done – I’ll text you the details. Wheel is ordered – should be in middle of next week – should is the key word.
Sunday morning would be a good time to get the 3 – and if you are feeling crazy – we could go to the Red Eyed Mule for breakfast?
We need to be getting ready for Wheelhopper about 1230, but morning is free.
Let’s plan on that. Lucas won’t want to get up because we’ll be out late watching the Metallica show, but Rachel is always up for breakfast. I’ll reach out tomorrow to nail down the logistics.
The Metallica show sounds like a great way to see a concert.
It’ll be interesting for sure. Wolfgang Van Halen, the son of Eddie Van Halen, has a band called Mammoth WVH. His band and Panterra are the opening acts. Lucas hasn’t wanted to go to a full on concert yet (Rachel has been to several), so this is a step in that direction.
The more I think about this concert at the movie theatre – what a cool idea. I could afford to spend $20 for a concert. I hope more bands start doing this.
Wordle in 4 using my trusty AISLE.
We had a impromptu hunt meeting at the vet clinic this morning. Six of us were there for various reasons. It was nice to catch up. My friend’s mare is 90-days along in her pregnancy so over the major hurdle. No more ultrasounds and just some shots at 7 and 9 months.
Maggie, the mare, has a terrible sunburn across her back and shoulders. I’ve never had a horse that suffered from sunburn and hope I never do. It looks super painful.
Bennett made his friends debut and got lots of snuggles. He’s the sweetest puppy and would be happy being held all day long. Fig injured her leg yesterday so I got to incur bills from both the equine and canine vets on the same day. Joy.
Looking forward to getting back to riding this weekend. I’ll catch the last of these glorious mornings.
Just saw that Werder Bremen will be today’s sacrificial lamb to the all time champs of Bundesliga, Bayern Munich. Well, good to get an embarrassing loss out of the way early I suppose,
Bayern Munich 4
Werder Bremen 0
We went to an impromptu lunch at the new Mexican place by the new Kroger with some local friends – decided we needed more conversation -so now we are having people over for dinner on the deck.
And – the new gas pumps are there – we had 70 cents off – so we took both cars!!!
Score on gas!!! Paying attention to coupons in the app paid off back at the end of July -sometimes they give you extra fuel points for spending ___ amount of money.
No Corn House? Lol
We do need to get over there again soon
